I'd give the Observer the benefit of their decision
Rather than debate it here, plus that camera angle doesn't tell the whole story
Conditions were horrendous yesterday & Doug was on top form on the sections I saw him ride
-
Great Vids, thanks for posting
-
Very sad, a great Trials dealer
Tough times
-
Sadly, here's the stock liquidation

Don't the new 2014 Repsols run AJP brakes anymore?, I thought the plain ones use Brake-Tech..................but not the Repsols?
Seems a retrograde step, if they're failing
-
9/42 on a 2007 Repsol, with a stock throttle body
-
If you clutch it, a lot and give it too many revs like a 2 stroke - I find it spins out and hard to regain the traction
I'm trying a different approach now and I have slowed the bike by gearing it right down to a 9/42 and i just leave the clutch alone and ride it like the old twinshock days,no touching the clutch
Dunno if it works, but I find it better
-
I've already changed my Montesa frame stickers from to Repsol Honda 4RT - it may start a trend
-
Interesting, my tickover is spot on, but I've geared mine down and it's easier to ride now
-
Ok..................must have missed that
My mistake
-
Looking at your location it's not hard to guess which dealer offered you a paltry sum, for a year old 4rt
Have you tried north of the Border ?
May have more joy
-
£2600 for a 2013 250.................they're having a laugh, unfortunately at your expense
-
I went to see a bike like that, i must have kicked 40 times and it would catch but not run (I have owned 4RT's before, so knew the techniques) so I walked away
.......................and bought another
-
Good post, I'd like to know a lot of those points too

I agree, I went a few BTC's in the last couple of years and couldn't believe how relaxed, friendly and down right convivial the paddock was
All the older riders are now still there, in their capacity as importers/sponsors/parents or just helpers............because they love it
Trials simply is brilliant, for its 'down to earth' approach to the sport
-
Just seen the the Colmore results last weekend and Tony Scarlett got a Top 20 place, so still riding VERY well
Back to 1986

Last night I read a fab career history in a magazine, about Nigel Birkett which was a really good article
So it set me thinking about all my heroes of yesteryear, when I was a kid and in those days it was Rathmell/Lampkin/Andrews/Birkett et al
Also there's been some fab interviews on RetroTrials
So who's your hero?

Look at the front down tubes to tell the difference
On the Mini - they are straight
On the adult full size frame - they kick back towards the barrel, near the exhaust
-
Dunno Scorpa, that's how I bought it and it seemed pretty stock to me - forks and engine wise
I think there were some mods available at the time, there are some T&MX ads and test from the era on the web somewhere, so may Google will through them up
