On the Sherco 4T do you have to apply lots of heat-shielding? Seems by reading these posts that if you do not do this then the bike becomes extremly hot and effects other parts? I just want to find out as I am considering one for next year.
  3. Where do you get Dextron III ATF from, cant find it anywhere? and whats the difference between normal Light trans oil? I've always used MOTUL Transoil 10w30. Seems perfectly OK.

Dont know but you will need some elastic primer (thats what they call it) so when the plastics bend, it wont chip or crack. Probably normal paint with the right primer! How about black with polished rims and engine casings?

It does seem worrying! Thats bad that it does not come with manuals? What other frequent servicing is required?

Yeah, they do make it out to be a 'bolt on' accessory - but in reality, it does require a bit of arsing 'round to fit it. Only bit of advice i can give you is; ask as many questions as you can & if your gonna do it, do it properly!! dont bodge it or try and do it on the cheap because you will pull yer face when it goes wrong! I'd imagine on the TXT that you will NOT need to buy a new reed block because the bellmouth is quite large on them. Most people who use them are happy with them and never looked back!! Also if you change bikes to something else (2 stroke) you can fit the carb on to other bikes. People put them on beta's!

Shaun morris had a black powder coated frame on one of his bikes - looked good. Plumbers nightmare Gaz?

I saw one yesterday at the 'Alan trophey trial' (cumbria) and the grip it was getting in those streams was awesome!!! could'nt believe it. Never seen one until yesterday, real tidy bike! best 4T so far in my opinion. hopefully soon, they'll have the little problems sorted.

Putting a Keihin carb on my Gasser was the best mod i've done! completly tranformed the bike, more bottom end power, revs higher!!, runs spot on! brand new keihin carb costs
  12. Yeah, your right! its bad news doing that
  13. It will be if your not using too much oil. Running too rich. Check air screw adjustments, failing that, jetting.
  14. That was a proper trial!! Thanks to organisers for a great trial.
  15. This is a bit off subject but just for your benefit. never stamp on the gear lever because the 'tophat spring' is very delicate and if that goes and you continue to ride the bike bits might find its way into the box - which is no good Use your toes. Just hate seeing people on gasgas's stamping on the lever down to first, coz it can end up being dear
  16. Good to see Colley winning!
  17. The 'Pre pro' gassers are probably the most reliable trials bikes you will come accross! Well made, soft power, grip well. You cant go wrong 900 sheets sounds a good buy! You see some real rough ones around and they are still reliable and competitive.

Well Said Bikespace is right, worn chain & sprocket set-up's can be noisey, worn bearings etc. worth a check
  19. Every club does it differently. like in our centre, the beginner route is called 'Sportsman' Also for the Inters, some clubs use diversions off the expert, some say at the beggining of the section 'inters ride exp.', some use orange flags, some use green flags i'd hate to be an inter in the CNW centre!

  23. Call up Apico coz they are the distributors for Jitsie i think
  24. estimate around 3.5 - 4 hrs of normal use. Is it true the TXT has a smaller tank than the pro? My 300 ran out at the northern experts last year (after around 5 miles) which is a 6 - 7 mile lap, but thats running a Keihin Carb
