In a pro gearbox, it is ok to use 4T oil! but in a TXT, you just need a 2T Light Transmition oil. Generally use MOTUL or Silkolene LITE Gear its called, or yeah, Putoline.

Personally, I run 550ml of 10w30 oil. Gear change is a lot smoother. Remember on the pro that the oil lubes the main bearings as well! Lew, on a 98 TXT you should use 10w30 oil and I think its either 650 or 750 ml
  5. It will be fine, just the steering may feel a bit twitchy yeah

The trialstar graphics for the Gasser looks a f***in mess!! If your gonna customize your bike, then you do something individual (and sometyhing that actually looks good ) Andy at Graffics is the way to go!

r2w, Apart from running a scorpa pad, another ting I do is cut a small hole out in the middle of the pad to the exact shape of the kill button and that holds it in place so you get the best of both. I first seen that on Kev Hipwell's (Gasgas UK Mechanic) bike. Looks really neat!
  11. s that Amos? Looks busy!
  12. I want it to be Lampkin.... but I rekon is gotta be RAGA!!!! Would'nt be surprized if Fuji wins coz of the home support and he loves it Cabestany could be a bet, or if its wet and muddy, Jarvis?

48 Pilot! Generally use RTV sillicon, also I forgot to mention, put silicon around Exhaust Joints - especially where the frontpipe goes into the mid-box
  14. I've Just phoned the ACU and it has been cancelled, due to the DEFRA problem and lac of entries going in because of this.

If not, Rnthal make nice Motocross ones. I used to run one. Its slightly bigger (width) than the standard trials one. Now, I run a Scorpa pad! They are really small, but do the job! Just cover the outside in Carbonfibre sheeting or something!

Aye, Junk the wiring loom and fit an aftermarket kill button, they are extremly tempramental! Yeah split your airbox. Always tighten your spokes because some tend to be loose!! Buy a crud catcher/mud flap kit for the front. I've had Gas Gas's since '94, you learn!! Have fun with it, I want a RR!

Yep! remove your flywheel cover after washing/riding in streams or any other way u hav managed to get water in there(!) Spray WD-40 or something on the flywheel, leave for a few minutes and then run the bike with the cover off so all the liquid condenses and evaporates. Just make sure your foot does'nt touch the flywheel, otherwise all you'll see is a big flash! Other than that, just buy a Flywheel Extractor, well worth the dosh! They are a tenner off Gas GasUK! Always Silicon your cover back on! NEVER drill a hole on the bottom of your flywheel cover like people recommend, coz you will let water in that may not had gone in otherwise Just put loads of silicon on it!! I've always had trouble with water going in the flywheel on my 300 but, it seems to be under control now!

I know 2 people who hav just bought the new Raga Replica. That switch on the handlebars is supposed to alter the igntion mapping! They both said though that it does'nt do anything! They are a really nice bike!! But like allways with the Keihin carb, they come standard with a 45 pilot and really, you need to run a 48. The bike rides better like this and also the engine wont pink/knock like with the 45 pilot jet. it makes all the difference. Its
  20. The '95 TYZ's had Annodized wheels in purple(!) They do look really good. Lots of people now seem to get the centre of the rim annodized and leave the outer wall silver - looks sound. If you get the wheel rims done, then get the hubs done too!
