  1. Isn't it fantastic that a legend has started posting on the site. Would it be possible for Gordon to describe the 1 dab ride in the section at the Scottish which I think is the most iconic photograph ever taken of a trials rider. Right place, right time, right everything! Was it planned, a safety dab, or an escape from a potential five? I would love to hear from the rider perspective. Thanks
  2. Hi Biff I think we met at the trial in Warken Luxembourg last year. Not many trials shops in Belgium or Luxembourg.
  3. In his Clean to the finish book, Miller was using the single alloy silencer on the 1972/3 325 cc so I assume it worked ok.
  4. Fantastic book on the CCM/ Armstrong history Rolling Thunder: Ccm Motorcycles: the Odyssey Author Henshaw
  5. I run a minimum of a 30 pilot jet and often a 35 depending on the weather.
  6. I would go for a 315 as well, bulletproof and easy to ride...
  7. Different club running it this year. Normally you just turn up and buy a ticket on the day.
  8. Perfect looks just the job. Thanks
  9. I have seen the extending plates to weld onto the standard swing arm, however is there a longer model from another bike that will fit? I have a mini majesty frame that came without a swing arm and am looking to extend by 2 to 3 inches. Any photos of your solution welcome.
  10. Craig's bike uses the factory OW10 engine the 175 is standard
  11. Not surprising their were not many imported at the time. My parents live around 5 miles from the Scarletts so I had proximity on my side.
  12. Vega came out before the Europa and ran for a couple of years
  13. Tony Scarlett rode the Vega for a couple of seasons. I have an early 333 awaiting tender ministrations. It was the last true JCM before Streit got involved. Vertigo should look at how advanced the bike was for its him and hire Joel as a design consultant!!
  14. Woody, The vega in the photo had different engine (made by Villa) in to start with, about 70 bikes in total. they changed to the gasser style engine on the late vega using a disc brake. They look pretty similar though.

    Weight

    Obviously you cannot weigh ability
  16. Wow! would never have thought a TY80 fitted.
  17. The reversal of fuel tank air filter is what montesa should have done from the introduction of the 2014 bike in my opinion.
  18. I have an aircooled Gasser with the alloy, push in carb, type reed block. I think it is an 88 model. Is it possible to change to a later rubber version for a better seal and if so from which model. Also where can air filters be bought from? Thanks
  19. I used a Mont 315r carb on mine which was pretty sorted. Never used the original Mikuni.
  20. This reminds me of an old joke. How do you make a small fortune out of trials? Start with a large one! Seriously though if they have the money and balls to give it a go, why not try. At the worst they can pull the plug before expensive production of metal parts starts.
  21. cut a flat plate of 3 or 4mm alloy to fit onto standard air box, then cut out centre to fit mont filter
  22. Yes a good read and some insight on one of the most gifted riders ever.
