    Bloody Bike

Fit a standard yam piston some after market rattle like new
  4. I use 7.5 or 10W in mine. Standard from memory is 170cc
  5. Jean luc has not lost his balance, still a great rider in Pre65 on an Ariel
  6. If it was ridden in public not much of a secret. Love to see some photos
  7. Fast everytime for me as it matches closer to the natural wrist rotation than a slow version. Some aftermarket variable respose are avaliable with a slow start and fast finish which are even better.
  8. No, it's to clear mud, you rarely need to change sprockets.
  9. Shedworks in the Uk do a nice Majesty inspired Tank seat unit to fit a standard frame
  10. We punch out the restriction at the bottom of the air box which is spot welded on by using a large socket and hammer from the under side. then we fit a Montesa 315, or Yam mono filter. Finally fabricate an alloy plate which just covers the perimeter of the air box lid and screw down.
  11. Schreibers Italjet had a bultaco cylinder, exhaust and frame swing arm to start with. See story in the excellent Italian Twinshock book by Mauri and Fonsenco. Interesting read
  12. The GasGas Halley had the same engine, not the later air cooled ones imported by Shirty. I believe the last importer\dealer was Aylebury Comp Shop. Two day classic trial this weekend in Belgium, snow and zero degrees so will look next week when I thaw out!!!!!!!
  13. Forks are Foral as fitted to Aprilia. Will start strip down soon to see what needs doing. Externally it looks pretty good but bought as non runner.
  14. Tony rode the Vega. There are some videos of him on Youtube on the bike. Mine is fitted with a Villa engine and conventional coil spring shock not the earlier Fournales air shock and drum rear brake. It is a 1987 model and seems to be the eighth off the production line according to the chassis number. I bought it local to me in France. Many moons ago I was at my original practice ground near my parents and met a guy with what he claimed was the ex Scarlett bike. I have ridden in many schoolboy trials with Tony but I am maybe 7-8 years older so never rode against him in the same class (thankfully as he was so good!!!). According to the world round results he rode JCM in 87 and 88 seasons. Next time I am at my parents I must try to contact him as they are only a few miles away There was also a shop in Salisbury who sold some of the very last ones and maybe even imported them.
  15. I have just collected my latest toy a JCM Vega which looks very original but has not run for a very long time judgeing by the state of the tyres. Any hints and tips on how to set up modify them? I think it has the 330 engine but need to lift the head to be sure.
  16. Sorry chaps I cannot help. Wheel is already built and fitted with a nice new X-Lite for the season. Never thought to measure them beforehand.
  17. Yes they fit really well, Never dropped it to find out but as they are a cosmetic cover there are no issues with leakage
  18. There was a manual with basic information delivered with the bike so a copy should be out there. If you are in UK try Rathmall's who were the importers or Stevens who were big dealers.
  19. I have done this mod with a stainless sleeve, basically drill out old bush and press fit new.
  20. Often the middle box becomes clogged and needs a good clean out. If not the ignition timing may be very retarded.
  21. Peter Gaunt was pretty good on a rigid many years ago (probably 15!!!)(forgot what he was riding but had a villiers engine I seem to recall).
  22. Difficult bike to restore as parts are pretty rare. Never seen a manual on offer. Great bike once you have finished as they look so good and have Honda build quality.

    Ty 320 Piston

I need a new 1st oversize piston for a 320 Majesty engine. I believe that a DT360 was used originally, do pistons from any other models fit? Thanks
