  1. I think the Miller one is produced by shedworks. yes they fit very well and are good quality, you need the plastic tank as it does not fit the steel version which is bigger.
  2. Why not ride more and keep fitting new tyres, problem solved and no noxious chemicals in sight
  3. If you remove the pump fully you need to block the hole using a coin and epoxy otherwise the oil pump cover will fill with oil
  4. One question regarding how will a stop be deemed to have taken place? Historically this was when the front wheel stopped rotating, easy to see. Nowadays we have hopping from rock to rock on the rear wheel only as well as some stationary or quasi stationary hopping. The front is locked by front brake. Question is how will this be observed. I also have to disagree with John Collins (which I rarely do). he wrote "This actually works the other way as well
  5. Much the same in the North East (Lorraine). very few trials, long distances between. happily the situation in Belgium is better but still a couple of hours drive. You do not realise how lucky you are in the UK until you leave (in my case the Lake District which is just mega)
  6. Woz thinking Miss Sainz was looking rather glamourous at the presentation. (See front page link) Much more fetching than a repsol jump suit. Well deserved to be voted FIM woman of the year, her achievements on a trials bike are superb. Toni also brushes up pretty well. Don't recognise the third lady
  7. I've fitted a 24mm flat side Mikuni to my bike which sounds to be in a similar trim as yours Fantastic carb, strong bottom end and fabulous ability to rev. Go for it!
  8. Probably a Vincent Comet as I'm sure somebody must have used one in a trial. Certainly the Cheney Ossa were around the same time and may be slightly earlier than the Yam cantilever. I would be interested to know the exact date they were announced if anyone has some old MCN's.
  9. Rosey, In your opinion what is the right way to go in developing a mono?
  10. They advertise alloy nuts for Yams on ebay so use "ask seller a question". I bought mine a while ago so they may have no stock
  11. No worries you look more into heavy metal than me!!!! However the clutch basket off looks within my attention span, now just got to find a good shaft ho hum
  12. This is the TY250 twinshock which is a full engine split and I'm too lazy to do. Thanks for the help it has sparked off some ideas which I was hoping it would.
  13. The best way is find somewhere with an ultrasonic cleaning bath. You could also try false teeth cleaner (such as sterident) or the likes which is pretty good Dont forget that internal passageways may also be clogged so blow out with an air gun
  14. I have a Yamaha engine which has had the gearchange shaft sawn through and the splines removed. All I have left is a round bar of approx 25mm in length. The challenge is to make it useable without splitting the engine. Any ideas from all you bodgers out there????
  15. I was also wonder how "disturbing" the rear shock moving against your right ankle will be. Looks as good as the established competition already (no suprise there) given Jordi is developing it. Look forward to reading a comparative test session report.

  17. As a very close to 50 year old after todays trial I felt the following. Sore shoulder, tendonitis Knees, sore from early arthritis. Legs arms and various other parts, muscle fatigue. Feel fantastic, won my class at today

    SWM Jumbo

I have dragged my bog standard Jumbo from the depths and have a clean slate to play with. It is totally stock and runs the case reeds. The footrests do not have a return spring and I cannot see how one is fitted. It is also fitted with SWM (Betor) 35mm forks, it is my understanding that the first bikes had 38mm. Were they changed at the factory during the last days? Overall the bike is in excellent condition so I assume they are standard factory fitment. What other modifications would you recommend? gearing, carb (26mm perhaps), exhaust system, ignition timing. Thanks for your help
  21. TY250 can be made to work very well but requires some effort. Reducing flywheel weight means engine picks up quicker. Much more modern response. Air filter and inlet to carb very restrictive. I use a Montesa 315 filter with the original mounting at bottom of airbox removed. Squish normally very wide, remove head gasket is a good start. Also exhaust can become clogged with carbon, a good roasting on the BBQ helps.

    honda tlr

Dont forget that the XR cam profile is also different. tlr mark did you also change the cam?
  23. Quick fix, Bash out the lower mounting pressing with a big socket, it is spot welded in place. use a filter from a Montesa 315R mounted upside down on top of airbox. Hold in place with alloy sheet cut to fit and the four original screws. works pretty well. Try Craig Mawlam for big volume majesty box.
  24. RD 350 LC fits as well
  25. Taddy was a top 15 world trials rider a few years ago so as said above trials riders 1 to 4
