  1. I think Millers do a replacement
  2. Fivemeister and copemech I did not intend to be patronising or go looking for blame. My question was in a positive sense, if it was a simple fall, I agree it is very difficult to avoid. However if some other factor came into play that could have contributed, why not understand the cause and take positive action in the future?
  3. Although I never new Mike my condolences go out to his family for this tragic loss. I consider trials to be one of the safest motorised sports in the world so this came as a great shock. When an investigation has been concluded it would be useful to post the contributory reasons to the accident so that other Clerks of Course can avoid the cause as far as possible. Lets do our upmost to prevent anything like this happening again in the future
  4. Suzuki forks are much better than Yamaha and were one of the very best of the day. They are air assisted forks so need a positive pressure to get the correct spring rate. A good mod to make. Later forks from a fantic etc are better but not period.
  5. Your wife is brilliant! She can even make water run uphill!!! Hope it tasted as good as it looks
  6. There is so much that can be done. A TY175 is effectively half a TZ 350. Send me a PM for more details.
  7. A better solution is a Wurth Timesert which is a solid version of a helicoil. Having use them both I bought the Wurth kit which was mega expensive.
  8. Another factor may be that in general the hard bits of a section are the uphill ones and a tilt forward starts the process of correct body positioning. I only add that as I qualify as a "young un" but only just.
  9. Perfect thanks, have all I really need. ID OD was a bonus!!
  10. I have fork springs, caps and damper tubes in my bike. Only about 200% better than standard!! The springs themselves are good but it is the whole package that makes the difference. If budget is an issue I would buy springs and damper tubes and use standard caps. The damper tubes are the best bang per buck investment. I have the caps in basically the non preload condition so am not really using what they are designed for. On standard forks use 10W or 15W oil depending on how responsive you like them. I use slightly more oil than standard 200cc from memory. about 10cc more than recomended. I weigh about the same as you. However in all honestly no matter what you do a good set of 35mm Betor/Marzochi/Foral, Beamish Suzuki etc are much better.
  11. Can anyone tell me the spring rate, free length and possibly ID and OD used in a TYZ, the manual usually would have these details.
  12. Bou, Raga, Fajardo, Dibs (go for it!!!!) Cabestany Fuji Challoner (suprise of the year?)
  13. Most people use the bottom horizontal frame tube which is already threaded then cut off the footrest on the same vertical plane, drill and thread a 8mm hole. Cut out a triangular shaped plate drill and weld on footrest mounting bracket in desired position. Takes an afternoon but well worth the effort.
  14. Try Crookes suzuki in barrow in furness
  15. TY 250 every time. Reliable, cheap to maintain, loads parts available. Needs electronic ignition as minimum.
  16. I thought 305's had alloy subframe and swing arm. Earlier subframes would probably fit but I still dont recognise the swing arm. Which model is it from?
  17. Go to a mountain bike shop and buy some super dooper Ti mega trick and expensive tools. Remember those poor b****rs have to pedal the weight around so the kit is light. have fun
  18. And who said romance is dead in Donnie!
  19. Sounds like the loss of a good development rider so it looks like Fajardo will have to step up.
  20. Why not add something like "or any place that a brit has ever visited" to the list of british definitions then we would really have covered all the bases!!
  21. Lower the footrest is a good idea. John kane of trial and trials does them. This will have biggest effect as the rest of your spec looks OK for starting. After that you can consider longer swingarm +2"
  22. The top end is a straight swop so no issues. I have 3 mono barrels in 250, 260 or 270 form and fancy trying the big beast! Let me know when you have made a decision. Cheers.
  23. Try Craig Mawlam for head bolts www.yamaha-majesty.com
  24. If you want to do a swap for a 250 pinky top end I'm interested!!!!!
  25. You can bore them to 260 or 270cc so no need to resleeve at this moment.
