  1. Any speculation on who are the yet to be announced Ossa works riders? (See front page for details) I hope it is M. Andrews and D Thorpe as they will not have far to go!
  2. Wish I still had enough for the same style!
  3. A twinshock is eligible for classic trials but obviously not Pre65 in the Bulto case. It is the style of bike and not the year that counts. For example a 1987 Honda TLR 200 twinshock is eligible whereas a 1985 Yamaha ty250 mono is not. But a Fantic 300 from the same year is.
  4. As guys said the fuel tank and airfilter have changed position from the 4RT. Why on earth did Montesa not take on board this type of mass centralisation during the redesign, especially as the EFI needs a pump to operate and hence the fuel tank position is independent of gravity. This mod would at least given them something else to push as it being a new model.
  5. What is the story of the alloy clutch cover on the water cooled bike looks very trick!
  6. I bash out the bottom of the standard mounting which blocks the access to the rubber boot. Use a mont 315 air filter mounted upside down and held in place by a 2mm alloy plate cut and bent to fit around the filter
  7. Whatever happened to the Dunlop willies with steel toecap..?
  8. It is better to let the engine spin freely rather than lugging down to very low revs with high load. Also varying the throttle position, accelerate/decelerate but this is the case with trials. What you should not do is run in a continuous throttle position up hill and down dale.
  9. longer kick start for less effort Buy a bicycle?
  10. The scorpa is a very much underatted bike and the spares situation for the engine is very good.
  11. I thought Eddy was at the forefront of stopping in sections!!
  12. Synthetic and castor do not mix Dont forget to drain the carb bowl as well.
  13. I love the look of these bikes, so simple but so cool! I espacially like the XS650 twin version which I think KR rode
  14. There was an article in a UK magazine, cant remember exactly which but could have been CDB
  15. High bars low footrests are the way to go. Even for an average rider the standard set up feels as though your "a**e is in the air".
  16. Can anyone give me details on a tubeless rim that fits a standard TY mono set yp i.e with Z spokes. I am worried about rim piercing giving an incorrect spoke angle. Thanks
  17. Must be the cheapest world championship for Honda ever. Take a 2 year old bike to 2 events and hey presto!! Hope her bonus was good. Joking aside it must be devestating for Emma to be beaten, hope she works even harder over the winter as the world title cannot be far away.
  18. From the description the answer is most probably. Although cannot see how an RTL tank was fitted as the frame separates at the headstock like modern bikes. The Fraser would have been the conventional top tube type. Fraser frames used square section tubing and were chrome plated. this may have been a clue as well.
  19. I need to replace the bearings and bushes on my TLM260 swing arm linkage The parts I need are in the middle of the 3 bearing sets on the linkage. The bearing is OD 23mm, ID 17mm and L 20mm The top hat hardened sleeve that the bearing runs on is also rubbish. This is OD 17MM, ID 12MM, overall length 29mm Does anyone have the Honda part numbers or a source of parts, fitted to another model perhaps? They may be the same as the earlier TLM 200, 220, 240 etc but I do not know. Many thanks,
  20. Think George is 81 and still rides really well as well as being a super bloke, who could ask for more!
  21. Agreed reliable but fiddly. Electronic ignitions come pre set and never vary unlike points when the heel wears. Adjusting the points gap is also a real pain.
  22. I have a strange shaped head (thanks mum) but find arai or shoei fit well so maybe I'm part Japanese????
  23. Honestly the best way is to junk the points system and buy an electronic ignition if you can afford it, otherwise it is trial and error and a strobe gun.
