  1. How about this its for 1999 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Montesa-Cota-315r-19...1QQcmdZViewItem
  2. I've cracked it!Took tyre of removed all the silicone done away with the spacer washer on the valve put some soapy water inside of rim pushed valve through rim tape reassembled making sure that the tape was in the groove all the way around rim All explained on Sherco website (Thanks Alan) Pumped tyre up good as gold!
  3. After phoning my dealer whom I bought the bike from, he told me a simple way to break the bead bit of 4"x2" 6" long under tyre lying flat the other end on the bottom shelf of my bench stand in the wheel and it pops of a treat turn wheel around same on the other side. Alan I removed rim tape put silicone on top of spoke nipples I also removed the valve put back together but its still leaking through about 8 spokes and the valve! So you are saying leave the spacer out? on valve. As I haved it all stripped down for another attempt tomorrow zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
  4. Well I finally gave in today broke the seal on one side, but couldn't break the other so took it to my local tyre shop let them turn the tyre whilst there only cost $10 NZ but its now leaking from the spokes. Do I get some sealant to blow in there, or not to worry about it as the low pressures that we run just to check before a ride? and pump up to suit never had tubeless tyre on a trials bike before hence the post originally!
  5. I wish to turn my Michelin tubeless rear tyre on my SY175, how do mere mortals break the seal tried putting wheel in my bench vice nearly but the jaws are not deep enough, other than that do you need to take it to a Tyre shop?
  6. You just need to free up the clutch, just put into a high gear pull the clutch lever in rock it back and forward and the clutch should free. Then start up away you go! in a gear of your choice. Do I need to answer the 3 posts

    Sy175f Smoking

I bought my SY 175F new in March of this year, and it has always smoked on starting. It came with a manual clutch as they were having problems with the Magura hydraulic clutches, after a letter to Scorpa and a long wait finnally got Magura clutch (please no alternative suggestions very pleased with the Magura) But the bike was still smoking after a lot of emails and phone calls to my dealer. The replacement piston rings arrived next problem getting my bike back to the dealer as I live in the north island of New Zealand and the dealer is in the south island, managed to get it taken to the Taranaki national to which the dealer was riding and bringing other bikes etc so it was returned to his workshop. The problem was the oil ring was snapped on assembly at the factory, they buy the 143cc kits from Poweroll USA. New rings fitted now good as gold all done under warranty from Scorpa, the bike was freighted back to me and my dealer and he even went halves on the freight cost. So a special thanks to Brendon Wadsworth Nelson Malborough trials centre and of course Scorpa. The bike suits me being a 63 year old wobbler and it has improved my riding 100% just point it in the right direction and the suspension just soaks it all up, and good brakes, for the average novice rider a good package, so glad I chose this one over the standard 125cc. I am not knocking the standard one its just that the 175 has all the extra's. I haven't posted before as I didn't want to jeopardize my issue with Scorpa but the bike was still able to ride if a little embarrassing, so now back to my bullet proof Yamaha to give me years of pleasure! Has anyone tried the lightened flywheel mod yet, on the 175 would like to hear if its a success?

    Majesty Yams

Yes it looked a dog! just because it had a coffin tank was it a Majesty? I rode my sons 200 Majesty when he had his in the early 90's and was lovely bike to ride. So when a 250 Majesty was for sale locally I bought it, but I didn't like it, was too much of a handful for me. So I sold it without losing any money! I have since bought a TY175 which is so easy to ride, which I might convert to a Majesty with a Craig Mawlam frame, at a later date.
  15. I have just fitted a Honda TL125 Kehein carb to my Tiger Cub, it runs OK on tick over but as soon as I roll of the throttle, after giving it some throttle! it pops back through the exhaust, at the moment its 98 main and 35 pilot, with the needle raised one from the bottom,do I need to go bigger on the main or raise the needle to the max! I thought that the TL 125 carb just bolted on with the standard jets and that was it. My Cub is the 250cc Serco conversion.
  16. Thanks guys I have fitted a 11 front which I've just taken off my Scorpa SY175F changed to 10 front. So will try the 11x51 combo see how it goes
  17. What is the ideal sprocket combination for Yamaha TY 175, just removed a 60 rear fitted a 51. I have just got a 13 front 51 rear from Talon, so I left the old 13 front on for now. Is the 13x51 the most common combination?
  18. Hi If you have cub brake plate, Fit a modified cam and lever, made by Ray Small. I fitted them to my cub, much improved braking. Ray's No 023 8069 3183. Hey Triton has Ray Small got an email? please

    Ty 350

(or perhaps knows if the alloy 250 one is a match ?) I think you will find that a 250 one will fit if you have access to one, there was one on ebay last week, hope this helps.
  20. I seem to remember our local ace Rob Sartin was on there, at the time and also Steve Saunders (Junior kickstart) Yeah happy days
  21. Which plug do I require for my 05 SY 175 as it says in the book supplied with the bike CR4 HSA, but the bike came with a CR7 HSA which is the one NGK recommend for the TTR 125 engine. This plug must have been fitted to the 143cc engine from Scorpa. So would the CR4 HSA be to hot a plug, and stick with the 7 plug just to carry a spare? What about an iridium option CR7 HIX
  22. As my SY175, plumes blue smoke new bike April. Should I be worried, did you have to something to the motor?
  23. Yeah thanks RS had deaings with Miller when I used to live in the UK, thats why I asked the question. I have had stuff sent here to NZ from them and shipping is quite expensive. I have since made enquiries here and I can get a front exhaust made at a muffler shop. So I will go that way. I will post a pic once sorted!
