The Wye Valley Auto Club are proud to announce the return of the Wye Valley Traders Cups Trial after an absence of 15 years. Once a round of the British Trials Championship back in the days of the one lap 40 section format, always had well over the 130 entry.This event started back in 1928 through to the last BTC round in 1994 when the current format came into being. The 2009 event will take place on Saturday 25th of April (day before the Victory Trial) Section severity will be similar to a National Clubmans Championship Trial. The course will be 2 laps of 20 sections road based. One route will be on offer. Classes are for adult solo also an over 40s class. The distance covered by the trial is aprox 9 miles. Entry limit is set at 80. Regs will be availible from www.acuwesterncentre.org.uk or from entry secretary Dan Sanders 26 Birch Hill Road, Clehonger, Herefordshire HR2 9RF or call 01981 259890 or 250458. The start and finish will be at the Crown Inn Longtown Herefordshire. BnB is availible at the pub, for details call 01873 860217 or 860683. Also a campsite near to the start, for details call 01873 860221. So those riders riding in the Victory Trial at Knighton you have a chance of 2 days riding, and if you like rocks and steps we got plenty, and its also good practice for those riders who are doing the 6 days a week or so later. Also in this trial there is a good possibility of having a crack at the subs at Tremorithic, as of yet never cleaned.. Quality stuff, i remember taking a week off work to follow that 6 day back then. Allways wanted one of those last air cooled twinshock KTM 250s but never had nowhere near the money to buy one.

Geoff Muston won the class in the event you state bo. Biggest problem here with the TLR 200 is the gear box ratios, theres one big gap between first and second, that problem sorted would make the bike half decent.

The road trial wins hands down for me every time. If you want a value for money day out then this is the way to go imho, generally 5-7 hours on the bike for a few quid more than the muti lap event, and the challenge is greater as you only get one crack at the sections on a single lap trial. Our club ran a single lap 35 section event in september just gone covering 32 miles with 14 groups with a good deal of success, so far i have heard only good words to say about the event, mainly are you running it next year? Answer is yes. And all the work is worth the effort.

I spoke to malcom bates last week at a club trial and he told me that the Rhayader club was running the welsh trophy trial, well worth the trip to this one. More land becoming availible for the wye valley trial so we hope to improve on last years succes And congratulations steve on your class win

Me too for tubeless, both my yams got IRCs ,cant stop em moving on the rims This rule about no tubeless in the trad series seems nuts when its obviously harder going on an older bike with crap tyres?
