I couldnt give a toss what forks folk are using as long as the sections are set out properly EG no stupid tight turns and mental drop offs!
Reason i use mono forks in my maj is the standard forks were rusty as a horseshoe and they were crap
Yes aggred the rules should be set in stone for any National series that have twinshock classes about machine eligabilty.
At the end of the day its the rider with the best skill and ability that wins the trial, not the bloke with the most tricked up frame and forks!
Lets just enjoy our sport while we still can!
-
Hey Bo, dont put yerself down.
You looked as you were going ok last sunday
-
What ever happened to John Reynolds?
-
Hey Maj 320.
I have a godden framed yam with mono forks in,works good for me and the handling is improved in my opinion, no tucking under on tight turns and a bit more stable in slippery rocky brooks (becks up your way ).
Only job to do now is to get a brake plate conversion from mr birkett
-
Hey Jer
Got a Talon hub in the rear wheel of my pinky.
Think you will find all ty mono swingarms are the same.
While your at it get a Tubeless rim fitted as part of the rebuild, more choice of tire.
Got a tubed rim on mine at the mo,with an IRC fitted but cant stop the dam tire creeping on the rim

Scorpa 3
What year was the Colmore first run?
-
Hey Bo,
Reckon your right about the camara bit, but sod taking the Maj up there.
You need to take a walk up it to see what i mean.
Even better i got permission to use it again if we want to use it in a trial
-
Steam
I was at malvern show yesterday, and i found a chap selling old MCNs.
I managed to find two editions with Traders reports in. 1977&1987.
In the 1977 issue theres a pic of Southern centre ace Goeff Chandler attacking Trem on a suzuki, but i cant get the scanned pic uploaded
Had a walk up Trem last sunday with Stu Essenhigh, i still think it would take some cleaning even by todays standards
It may get used again one day.....
-
Good find Zarcoff
Go on tell us what you paid for it
-
Got Falcons on my Majesty, they work a treat.
-
Sounds like an Aerosmith track to me, havent got a clue what track tho

Regs on ACU Web site now.
See you at the Dommett
-
Anyone seen any entry details and regs for the Dommett trial on 2nd March 08?
No details on ACU Website or in TMX yet....
-
Aye john ageed.
Normally inter center events are run towards the end of season.
Be better run october, november in my opinion.
Perhaps after the first event is a success then hopefully it will find a place in the calender with no big clash.
-
Me and the Ty be up for it
Rode the Aberystwyth do last year, well worth 140 mile round trip!
See you there
-
WOW!
Excellent pics from the golden era!! Lets have more please!
-
Looks like an Inter Center Team Twinshock Trial for 2008 on June 15th, run alongside a sidecar champs round.
Good to see the Twinshocks finally getting a bit more notice
-
What about a One Day Twinshock Scottish a day or so before the Pre65 event? Using roughly the same area as the Pre65?
Just a thought....
-
You must have read into my post too deep micky, my wording TY250 should have had twinshock in the sentance. i am no way in favour of converting monos to twinshocks.
I meant buy a twinshock and get it competitive
-
Just to add my two penith
I ride a TY250 Mono in local centre trials and the occational acu classic round, best
-
Hey manx, check out the thread in Trials Previews and Reviews.
Loch Lomand 2 day on May 24th, 25th 2008
-
Dont want to upset any series organisers, but if this series is to be called "ACU Traditional series", should all the rounds be one lap of 40 sections road based?
Thats what Traditional trials are supposed to be about..
Or am i missing the point?
As i said i dont want to p*** anyone off who put all the work in to put a round on, its just a queary.
Seems a shame the DK Mansell and the Frank Hooper are not part of this series any more, these were Traditional road based events..
-
