  1. You just cant beat a good rocky streambed!! Then again anything will do as long as iam on me bike and riding trials!!
  2. Scorpa3. Sorry for my vauge explaination Splitting the Twinshocks and Brit Specials is what i meant so adding one more class to the series Total shell I attend most pre65/ trials local, so i know the standard of bikes around(not many standard) I rode in the Inter Centre Pre70 Trial a few weeks ago on a bog standard Cub, and i struggled Big Time, but i thouroughly enjoyed the trial. Again 95% of the bikes were tricked peices of kit with non standard frames. Woody Answer to the replica frame problem, is any one who choses to use a replica lightweight frame goes in the specials class. Who polices this? THe riders police it not the clubs. If there is a guy in your class with a tricked up frame, the riders in said class get together and put up
  3. Having just seen the final rounds results, is now the time to question the class structure? Those of you who know the riders in both the unit class and the brit special/twinshock class will have noted that all the specials riders are now riding in the unit class because they feel they are not competitive against the twinshocks, hence the guys in the unit class on standard bikes have no chance against the specials so they dont bother entering. IMHO i think these classes need tiying up, so folk know who and what they are competeing against. Splitting these classes into 3 should?? sort the immediate problem. UNIT= standard frames, cub, c15,B40, Crusader, etc BRIT SPECIAL= any after market frame, otter, mc d, etc etc TWINSHOCK= Twinshock Keep them all seperate is the only way forward, most people know what a mess the whole Brit bike sceene is in because of so called trick bikes, so these classes may help a bit to stop the standard bikes going elsewhere. We wouldnt want this series to dwindle away now would we?
  4. Woody Thanks for the offer to try your yam, will be doing next rhayader trial on 26th, and most events in the south west midlands, and mid wales between now and the new year.
  5. Christ Bo! Reckon you been digging your old books out of the roof space to come up with that answer, but thanks all the same mate. Woody how does the 320 compare to a standard Pinky, as i have not had the chance to try the 320. I too spoke to Mick at Rhayader, his words 320 better in muddy stuff as you can pull bigger gears, but he said his mates ported 250 was better on the rocks. Probably stick to the 250 ported verson as it suits my ability
  6. These events all classes? What they like?
  7. Dale Glad you enjoyed our series, and look forward to see you guys next year and bring some more mates with ya, dont care what they are riding as long as we keep em smiling!
  8. Memories eh, Was the bloke on the energy emergancy, the voice of Ronald Allen of the Barratt Housing Ads Reckon he must of made a mint doing them voice overs, he was on nearly all these films. What about DJ Alan fluff Freeman doing the Brentford Nylons Ads in the 70s??? (not arff pop pickers)!!
  9. Howdo. I am in the process of doing a motor rebuild on my majesty, whilst its in bits i wonderd about getting the head n barrel vapour blasted to get the old paint off. Question is do i leave it just plain alloy or do i get it sprayed up? If its left plain alloy will the motor have same ablity for the heat to disperse as it was when painted? Any one had their 250 Majesty ported to get a little more power output? Was going to try birkett motor sport, word is they can improve it a tad. Any help appreciated
  10. Roll on next year, 3 road events in rhayader if welsh trophy gets given to them to run!!
  11. 100% Agee with you paioli. Lots of stop starting going on at rhayader yesterday and the observers turned a blind eye to it!! Me and woody wached about half a dozen in th second group at Cefnllyn. Problem being younger riders on old bikes using modern methods to ride a section. Every one knows how hard it is to get observers but they need to under stand the rules of classic and modern marking. And the riders need to know that a stop is a 5 in classic trials!
  12. Where do we find the national events calendar please?
  13. Pipe Strangling Central heating Engineer.
  14. Two routes on the classic series would be a good move personally, cause i know there are lesser riders out there who would like to ride more road based nationals, like riders who ride in the specials class and twinshock class in the Miller rounds on the standard route could ride the alternattive route on the acu classic series. I for one would definately support this. Anyone here think this idea should be discussed in the ACU Forum here on TC ?
  15. Majesty every time Best bike i ever bought ( twinshock that is)!

    Ty 250 Age ?

I rang the customer service dpt at Yamaha uk 01932 358000, told them what i had. They asked me to send my engine & frame numbers in writing, in return they sent me a letter stating the age of my bike. I can use this document in order to get an age related registration for my bike By the way the proof of maufacture letter cost nowt but a stamp.
  17. Stu Forecast looks crap for sunday so standing in the rain at weston could be unpleasent for me and mini me. May do llanfyllin trial after all.
  18. This has to be one of the best classic trails in the calender for my money Have ridden this event for the last 8 years! Excellent sections, sensible too and well oranised. Clubman & expert routes, 15 to 20 miles road work See you there
  19. Totally Agree Paioli with the special class trouble is 95% of the entry will be in this class!! I think the premier award should go to the best ride on a standard pre unit machine. Why is 1965 the so called class date, is it because of the spanish invasion of lightweght 2ts? Cause it was not the sad demise of the brit bike industry, that was later in the seventies sometime i beleive. For my money the whole brit bike thing has got completely out of hand, Just hope the Twinshock class doesnt go down the same road......

Outlaw Dave Dont have any web site info, will give them a call tommorow, see if i can find out for you.
  21. Nice words John. I think that explaination should be in the ACU handbook every year so every member knows the full picture, then thers no cause for slagging of the people who put some serious time in to keep our sport what it is.
