Question is?
Is there any one who rides trials after a knee replcement?
I know of a few folk who had hips done, EG Big Wiggy and a chap from oxford by the name of kevin.
Any knee replcement riders here?
-
Hell i dont feel alone anymore chaps!
I tore my medial ligaments in me left knee beack in 82 doing motocross. back then a ligament rebuild was unheard of.
A few years later when the op was starting to be a success i saw the doc, and he told me 6 months off work at least for rehab but there was no way i could aford the time of so i lived with the injury since...
Trouble with a knee job THEY say its got 10 year max life span at normal living thats without riding dirt bikes.
So me i will stick with the knackerd knee till i cant walk then get it sorted.
I was in india this year so i checked into a private hospital in Goa to get a second opinion, they said they had repalced better knees than mine. Waiting time was a week and would cost about 2k that included a week in the hospital.
Thats two my penith, Good luck man o steel, keep us posted on your progress

Hey Woody, Dont you think its time we had an inter center twinshock trial?
Why is every event either for modern or so called Pre65. Seems to me Twinshock takes a back seat every time in my eyes
-
Thanks chaps.
Will give it a go next year may be..
Main reason for asking is that i have been told i need a knee replcement at the ripe old age of 44, but i still like to ride a good trial without too much onus on making the injury worse with daft sections.
Good to hear of poss 50/50 route, should encorage the lesser rider to take part in a proper road based event without too much stress.

How hard is the peak?
I have ridden a few of these rounds and had a good day but i have heard the Peak is pretty hard, especially the last group at Backtor.
Too late for me this year to enter but i fancy trying all the rounds next year.
Woody, Paioli, perhaps you can shed some light for me?
Thanks

HaHa. Got you down for 3rd group of day then last group at finish 500 meters from the crown. They sell stowfords chap.
Just got some more land so we should have 14 groups with 34 sections to go at
-
So is there any more intrested in this trial or what????
-
Hi. i am not an expert on majestys but i ride a 250 version.
Looks like a godden framed maj you got there ,its got the full sized frame not the mini frame for school boys of the time.
Its possible its a 200 engine too, but i am not sure how you tell the difference between the 175 and 200.
Cant either tell you what its worth but it seems anything majesty is starting to command high prices.
Dont sell it you may regret it in a few years time, plus they are a great bike to ride
Cheers

September 23rd 2007 is the date for the Twinshock Trials enthusiast.
The Wye Valley Auto Cub will be running a traditional road road based trial dedicated to Twinshock trials motorcycles.
The trial will be run over a 30 mile loop taking in 12 groups, using 30 observed sections.
Using many of the old Wye Valley Traders Groups in the area, plus new groups the organisers have managed to secure.
The organisers are hoping to attract some of the riders of the Twinshock era from the 70s and 80s as well as many of the regulars of todays Twinshock scene.
The trial will have two routes, so riders who take part in the ACU classic series and the Sammy Miller serieswill be catered for.
Those who have ridden in this area beforewill be pleased to know that the steps at Tremorithic will not be in this trial, so theres no need for mountaineering equipment!
The organisers are hoping to make this an annual event if enough intrest is shown.
Classes will be as follows. Twinshock Premier Route. British Twinshock (cubs, james, etc) Premire Route.
Twinshock Clubman Route. British Twinshock Clubman Route.
Awards go to first three in each class
Terrain will be typical Traders rocky subs with a few rooty subs for good measure.
The trial will start at Pont-yr Ynys(map ref SO329288) in the village of Longtown Herefordshire.
The village pub is about 500 metres away from the start,(crown inn) which will be opening early on sunday for breakfasts etc.
Camping is available at the start 01873 860217
Entry is set at a maximum of 100, so in order to get a entry, regs will be available from Secretary of the event Malcom Herbert, Hungerstone cottage, Allensmore Hereford.HR2 9BE 07720079845 or www.acuwesterncentre.org.uk.
Closing date will be 17th September 2007.
As usual we are looking for observers and helpers on the day, so if you can help call Malcom on above number or Andy Pitt 07976529955.
Note: Machines fitted with disc brakes or any modified air cooled monoshocks (twinshocked TY monos) will not be eligable for entry.
ENJOY

Hey Christian
Thats what i call a couple of beaut brit trials bikes!
Any more pics?
-
Mine are going in the post box first thing in the morning
Looking forward to a good ride out instead of riding round the rabbit patch
-
Townley fan here chap.
Saw him in france at the nations, the only bloke on the track to give R C a good run for his dosh.
Be good to see ben and ryan up in the open class, seems to me the series has lost its zing since Carmichael went part time (Shame in my opinion)
Reckon Townley should give Bubba a good run if he keeps out from injury.
-
Class 8 i beleive is now any twinshock allowed
-
Nice clip Malc
All i can say is the Rottwiller needs a lethal injection!
-
Thanks chaps.
I am looking for a rear twin seat too if anyone knows of any?
-
Hi all.
Just bought a VW T5 van and keen on finding some after market side windows.
Any help appreciated
-
Nice pics HRC.
Whos is the Majesty?
-
Whens the Regs out then chaps?
-
Last time i rode in 2003, the organisers had a vehicle with a big trailer to take all the fuel to the designated fuel stops, Sloc corner on saturday and at Cluddaghs on sunday.
Plus thers a few fuel stations on route.
Last number Twinshock on saturday means first rider away on sunday(or it was in 03).
All the Twinshocks get sent out first to scrub the rocks for the Brit bikes on both days.
Plus the twinshocks are only limited to 40 in their class and they get half an hour less on time allowance!!
BUT this has got to be the best 2 day classic on the uk trials calender
