Oh, oh..wasn't there a problem with the gearbox internal drain hole (not machined correctly at the factory)?
  2. Welcome Rob, Sods law, you never run out of fuel at the top of a peak where you could coast down for a re-fill Trials is quite deceiving, looks real easy doesn't it?..but.. Wayne
  3. Cheers for sharing that. At the risk of sounding like a smart 4rse..that camera lens adds to the drama by artificially bringing everything to a peak in the centre of the frame. But I don't doubt that he's seriously in the 5h1t if he loses his concentration there.

When it comes to Shercos I think it's brass/gold for too rich and green/blue for too lean.

Y'Alreet Glen? This explains things best:- AJP ..or..are AJP Industrial a seperate company? I wasn't trying to start a rumour, it was a genuine enquiry as I'm trying to understand why there are AJP spares shortages and why GasGas have changed to Formula? Wayne
  7. I've often wondered whether you could taxi/drive down a mountain then take off? No engine @2.00?
  8. Warning..old joke re-hashed:- President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad rings up President Obama on the Whitehouse hotline and launches into a rant; ''You Americans think you are so sophisticated, civilized, free thinking and well balanced with your biased media propaganda!Pah!'' ''You export a TV series like Star Trek to all the world ,which portrays the crew of a starship as a multi-cultural metaphor for inter-racial harmony?......you have an Oriental guy to pilot the ship, a Russian to navigate,an Afro-Carribean lady in charge of communications...and you even show a Skattishman in charge of engineering!!! BUT..not one single Iranian!? Can you answer me that?'' Obama replies menancingly; ''That's because it's set in the future you c*** !''
  9. Nice one Zippy, that's the bike I was thinking of, just think how heavy that engine needs to be,not really trials friendly.
  10. ham2 replied to md04's topic in Montesa
You greedy sod The 03 and 04 models are the same bikes apart from red/white plastics and represent the most refined(good suspension/engine pick-up) marks of the breed but I found the 97/98 models to be the most comfortable to ride. The triple clamps were changed (00?-04) to suit the plush Showa(rainbow) forks and I know of a few riders who felt that the bars were angled back towards the pegs which seemed to make things cramped for taller riders(and me,at 5'10'' but I don't bend zenees)... IMHO I can foresee us still riding these bikes in 20 years time when all that's left of their contemporaries is a photo Rose tinted glasses....or what?

Are the Pinto brothers financially solvent?
  12. Do us a favour, put a lid on that kid...anything is better than nothing.
  13. ham2 replied to lewisallen's topic in Gas Gas
What clutch parts have you paid for? I'm only guessing that you've got new clutch plates in an old (worn grooves)clutch basket? so their contact surfaces are not mated together as well as the previous plate/basket combo was..hence the 'chatter/rattle'?
  14. ham2 replied to fatbastard's topic in Sherco
Gearing? Shercos seem to be longer geared..does the gasser have 6 speeds?
  15. Jesus, they're everywhere..it's not as if they can breed !! The bitter irony of a foreigner and his mis-placed geographical knowledge Not exactly the dialogue I was getting at but still a great piece of cinema, I remember being very shocked by it. ..The story behind this scene is that Gunny Ermey was only an off-camera advisor but he impressed Kubrick so much that he was given the part...the most shocking thing is that he knew the lines verbatim, from experience ! WARNING--EVEN WORSE THAN THE PREVIOUS VERY BAD LANGUAGE:- GO to 3.45 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=peRA28m9uzY&feature=related

It looks like your bike is not a 'PRO' Gasser so it has a conventional multiple coil spring clutch and not the diaphragm spring that was fitted to the PRO's. Did you have new plates fitted or a basket? or both?
  17. Just to clarify...go to 3.30....WARNING<BAD LANGUAGE:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znDZ4DX126A&feature=related
  18. The price seems very good, check the swing-arm as well, some of the early ones had to be replaced by the dealers.
  19. And I don't see no horns !!
  20. An open-cockpit jet aircraft and a fake prop? Mental
  21. Man, you're in a dark place if you're starting to think and act like me
  22. ^What he said ^
  23. You shaw godda purdy mouth...( you've no idea how long I've waited to reply to you with a Joanna Lumley pun )
  24. The quietest bike I've 'barely' heard of is the Evo 250 4 stroke IMHO or any other Beta with a dead stator
