  1. so as the ssdt rapidly approaches who would you put your money on to win the womens class, with no spanish or german contenders this year ,i think it could be rather intresting. my money would be on maria conway on current form but if you look at the entry list theres 5 potential contenders but i think it may be very close .
  2. not seen you at a local trial(lincolon) for a few weeks ,how are the preperations for scotland going?has your mate improved at all yet?i rode at the bemrose the other week and i'm at the jack wood at the weekend which is always excellent ,i've just bought a mont as well so i'll be 4 stroke powered as well.

i quite liked the montesa,i 've ridden a couple for ten minutes and i think that i would be alright, but they seem a little thin on the ground,i'd want an 07 with the new type cam, there seems to be plenty of 05 's about,so i was thinking about a new sherco ,i have ridden one for about 5 minutes but i was very unsure what i really thought about it ,reliability issues worried me as well, heard they were running warm, although from what i've seen they seem to start now and i have not even seen a sherco 4t in my centre yet.there are a few mont's and beta 4t's,i just fancy a change though, but i'm riding scotland and don't want starting problems/reliability issues.i know a montesa is the safe bet for scotland but i quite like something different.i ride the hard route so power issues don't really worry me.

hi,i'd quite like an 08 4 stroke, any one got one and what has it being like to live with ?any problems?
  5. has any one else bein down loading copys of mx digital, there's being an excellent raga interveiw,a test of the works gas gas and honda's in recent month's and a really good muti bike shoot out,i personally think that maybe the english press should take a very good long look at this publication as some of the interveiws are really good.i even found my self reading about mx legend david bailey who was sadly paralized a number of years ago.. YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE is also rather good as well but i don't think this counts as english.(a lot of content is european)still excellent though.
  6. ooch, but at least we now no he is human,i was begining to wonder.on a more serious note a crash like that and bang goes your outdoors season if your not lucky.
  7. yes im afraid they claim that two pw 50's are causing a noise problem, only one complaint but he's a counciller ,ironic thing is the intensive pig farm next to my mum's can load pigs up at 4 in the morning and be loading pig feed hoppers at 6 and they are noisey, the local council don't give a t... i think they should find something better to do it sad really.
  8. hi,i own a small field just a few acres, with the local poice tightening up so much ,i've let my brother take his 7 year old twins and there pw50's on there bikes on there for an hour on a sunday,it's situated next to the main london rail line ,so trains come past every 20 minutes,so it's already noisey.already it seems a counciller who lives local has complained and this morning i've had a nasty letter from the council,am i right in thinking that for 21 days a year i can use it for purposes other than agriculture?or how i stand under uk law. it really upset me that a couple of busy bodys can cause me so much trouble,as they are no more noisey than a lawnmower and i'd quite like to take my beta up there in the summer. if they really wind me up and i can't use i may as well sell the land to the local gypseys. any advice would be most welcome.

    Cheap 4rt

this was on e bay about two weeks ago,for some reason it's not on completed listings.
  11. and ducati build quality has being dreadful, our local dealer used to hand out a free pair of comfy shoes for the walk home with every ducati sold.
  12. any yorkshire centre trials are a good start, the jack wood, the stocks bridge trial on the 30th of this month, but the jack wood is a must, ride the club route as well.most events in debyshire or south yorks are not far and you won't go far wrong.i've spoken to you at methringham before so i'll no doubt see you there in a couple of weeks.

    Cost

being half yorkshire ,so i'm tight,i have got round on 500 pounds, same tyres ll week then used the back for a month or two as well but as an average i'd budget for a 1000 and hope you have no major disasters, well worth going though, awesome event.ridden six times entered this year ,may finish when i've done 10 but don't hold me to it.
  14. as much as i liked last years 4rt ,i think the new black frame version looks awful,is it just me or is this now really that bad. bring back the silver frame.i personally think a plastics colour change would have being just fine, pus easy to swap if you hate it.

    4stroke Finale

me as well,i much more a proper book as well rather than an e book.
  16. i usually take out the back wheel and keep it in the house. on a more positive note two local lads on stolen motocrossers recently had a head on. one dead the other brain damaged. maybe there is a god, don't like to sound horrible but i've lost a lot of bikes and so have quite a lot of my friends.
  17. sadly local legal places to practise are a little thin on the ground, you could join lincoln motor club who run trials at methringham quarry a key may be available as well to club members ,theres a cub at peterbourgh who have local events as well.other than that theres mick andrews at matlock and hawks nest at buxton but these are a good hour and a bit to get to. luckily there are some excellrnt clubs not to far away and some great trials in south yorks/ derbyshire and lincs.
  18. sadly my experience with the police has being all to often and very negative.i went to look at a bike in the local paper did'nt like the look of things tryed hpi and the police, came back as the bike being clear i still was'nt happy, phoned shirtys then supplying dealer and bike turned out to be stolen, never even got a thank you from the police. had numerous bikes of mine stolen ,but found out where mine was for sale, went to look at it ,was my bike left telling them i'd come back, phoned police who took 4 hours to arrive,in the mean time my bike dissapears,i ended up having to buy it back, police missed my race plate with my number and name on and a one off handle bar pad, turned out that his uncle works at the local police station,i complained to police complaints ,nothing happened.lad who had my bike now races super moto with acu and is notorious for having had bikes in his area, this really p****s me off.i now have a live wire left in the top of the garage as well as another few surprises. most of my local freinds have lost a bike at somtime and everyone always say that the police don't seem to care less.
  19. found some tapes of my dads today, kickstart, superbike 6 he died friday got to search through loads of stuff, but he had if anyone knows how to get the film from beta max onto the web or can do it on to dvd, not sure if the tapes are still watchable if i can find a mate with a betamax i will see what there like.we definetly had the 1976 donington kickstart tape somewhere.maybe the last copy?

in as well hope i won't need waterproofs
  21. just thought ,might make a good film show at the scotish,if i get past the ballot.
  22. at the risk of being mobbed,i've got a few early kickstart s on video ,don't know what condition there in,and the bad news there on betamax, looked at getting them put onto dvd but it is quite expensive and im not sure what condition they will be in,went to the first kickstart in 76 at donnington park, presented by dave lee travis, from memory rathmell, lampkin ,alan wright, thorpey were riding but i was only 6 at the time so i may be wrong.

    Raga Ignition

hi, read on this forum that someone had adjusted there raga to a softer ignition curve,is this done by retarding the ignition or is there another way of doing this on this bike, put a flywheel weight on ,now took it off, better when its wet with it on,but would n't mind trying other things.bike is a 04 300 raga .
