  1. myself as a rider i actually like nostop ,suits riders who like to ride in a flowing style rather than spend ages hopping about, our local club has changed to nostop and it has really shaken up the results and some riders don't seem to suit no stop rules although i think given time they will change there style to suit ,just that when you've being brought up to ride in a certain way and stop everywhere to suddenly change some seem to be finding hard work.me i'll just ride the same what ever,i don't tend to mess about if i can avoid it. think there will be a few more crashes this season at world level when riders go when usually they' d wait and just get there balance. as an occasional observer at brit champs if i seen this video i'd rather not bother,it looked confusing, very fine lines between what's thopught to be a 5 or a 0.
  2. well having just watched the film for the new rules they've just changed my mind ......oh god what have they done, hope there not going to show this observers,it will confuse them all.i was in favour of no stop ,not so sure now. i suppose time will tell, can see many more arguments with riders/officials.sadly
  3. i had one it was found in a local farmers barn, had a load of paperwork with it which i got at a later date. .i think most of it went with the bike but i will have a look round ,think mcn did reveiw on it and bike mag, they were comparing it to the british bikes of the time.i was quite dissapointed when i got it sorted out as most modern pre 65's would ride much better and felt it would never be a competetive bike in a twin shock class and not eligable to ride in the british bike trials. think mine ended up in spain.got another old honda now another garage find ,i'll try and put a pic up later.

    Beta 4T

i've a number of different bikes and have a 300 evo 4t in the garage, not the easiest bike if it's hard route and hoppy but suits no stop stuff ,think they are so underrated, fly's up some big banks so easy and i'd say would flatter a lot of riders ability's. starting never normally a problem, hot or cold, just being a great bike. + it grips easy to ride reliable sound lot's of steering lock - tiny bit heavier. rear exhaust guard cost's a fortune. carbs a pig to strip in an event if any problems. one of my favourite bikes i own.
  5. hi,in the uk you would think it would be at least £2000.00 and maybe more.i'd insure it for £2.5 if in uk ,so what ever that is in dollars.

    2012 models

i recently tried a 290 sherco 2012 and after being some what unimpressed with earlier models i actually liked it, seemed to do everything right and it gripped really well, could be tempted.i've a 280 gasser and a 300 4t evo which most of the time i thinks great.i would try a few ,see what you like then see what the local agent has in stock.
  7. things are n't going to be cheap ,vat 20% ,import duty ,grand a month rent for small premises ,rates ,staff £300.00 + each, the electric bill ,all these add up ,your not going to get rich out of retail these days, china is getting more pricy they don't want crapy conditions anymore so are wanting more money, volatile currency, all reasons for price increases, some cycle stuff is cheaper but big online suppliers are selling end of line grey import goods sometimes at less than normal uk trade price ,maybe not the fairest of comparisons. mudguards at £80 does seem steep though when they break so easy though.ouch
  8. if they want bigger numbers ,ease the b route a bit more and put in a over 40's class or 'masters class' ,some good rider's still and may be the biggest class.

    GasGas TXT-E

i think it's looks a great little bike but if we think we will turn back the clock twenty years and you'll be able to pop down the local woods again we are kidding are selfs.just a few short years ago i could go and have a play in the sand quarry a joining my familys farm ,can't even ride a mountain bike down there legally now as the local twitches have spotted some rare bird and the whole area has become a wild life preservation area ,with such people running local councils etc access is being lost to all.just because a electric bike is silent they suddenly are'nt going to open every where up.A hundred yards from home a well silenced trials bike can barely be heard so its hardly offensive to the ear, next doors mower is more noisey, i kind of think we are trying to solve a problem that does'nt exist for a bunch of people that will still moan anyway.which brings us back to the question do i want to spend 5k on a bike with maybe a couple of hours range? no but maybe 3k or there abouts.

    GasGas TXT-E

pay more for less performance ,that sounds like a really good idea. hope the price comes down very quickly.
  12. well in my trade uk import duty 30% add on 48.5 % euro anti dumping duty and then 20% vat on top= way too much tax, people think retailers/importers are making a fortune,i only wish. while i'm not sure how much duty is paid on motorcycles you can bet the goverment is getting more than a fair share. we do mid range cycles and cost have gone up everywhere container freight etc and i expect motor cycle industry will have similar issues.
  13. there are a number of factors on bike prices . the pound lost strenghth against the euro. the randeneur motor and other parts are made in china. lower cost's. metal and raw material cost's went up in a big way. TAX AND VAT and other hidden cost's,the people robbing you are the european govements and our own govement, the importers will earn a bit but you can bet the tax man has the biggest chunk.just think most modern bikes have over

    2012 GasGas e-bike

be intresting to see what happens ,still think we will have problems as to where we can use them,as for noise and trials bikes ,my beta 4t you can still hear a mouse fart. as for electric, lithium is already is in short supply ,it has a short life span and on cycles reliability issues and a battery for a push bike is around

    Beta Rev 4

i know it's not a rev 4 but i have an evo 4t which is the newer version and it's being great,it's a little bit quiet to start with and it gives an impression of lacking power because of the lack of noise but it's being great and starts easy as long as you don't leave it on it's side.lot's of fun to use.
  16. yes sammy miller and nick jefferies were both firstly trials riders then went to road racing and very good at both.
  17. went to a watch supercross on saturday night and was surprised how quick ex a class trials rider jonny walker was ,he failed to make the final but was running top 4 in the heats and giving established riders a hard time.i was thinking has any come from other disiplines(bikes)and done well at trials?
  18. i think the fact it clashes with the lakes 2 day may have a lot to do with it,a lot will be there ...plus end of series so a few won't want to travel as much, pity as it's a good trial.
  19. if it's in the scott you have a long bloody push.....
  20. a link for an old bikehttp://davestestsandarticles.weebly.com/uploads/4/8/4/5/4845046/which_bike_may_1980_suzuki_rl325t_swm_320tl_yamaha_majesty_320_bultaco_350_sherpa_t_montesa_cota_348.pdf. magazine test, thought a few people may like.
  21. luke wood was riding a year or two ago in the east midlands centre, see phil frizzel at scunthorpe trials and still pretty handy on a bike.
  22. mansfield maun and barnsley are doing evening trials
  23. what bike is it? used to have similar problems with my 4rt when using irc tyres and sometimes mich x1. put a heavy duty tube in end of problem.
  24. i'd think it's about right certainly not dear, such bikes are kind of in no mans land you may pick up an 06 /07 for
