the 2012 bikes seem ok to start, from cold you give
it 3 or 4 lazy kicks to prime it and them one like
you mean it and its off, when hot just the one like
you mean it and its fine.very nice bike to look at
and even better to ride
cant wait to get on it again

i am thinking about selling my bike and i want
to remove the heavier duty rear spring i ve been

had another bad day with the evo after cleaning the carb,
coughing spluttering and back fireing didnt manage to finish the trial,
got a new plug and cgi on the way to try to get it sorted
any other ideas ?

had another bad day with mine on saturday, couldnt rev it clean when you went
to give it a handfull it started to cough and splutter but not all the time.
stripped the carb and cleaned it all out, going to ride in the same venue
on wednesday night in a trial so we will see. has any one had there
cdi changed on warrenty yet and can lampkins test it
jsp
-
whats the best thing to spray in the cdi connector block
wd40 or an electrical silicone spray
jsp
-
Silckgolf, what did you do to sort out your dodgy connections, i ve just had a look
at mine and i have one thats blue, and last week it started coughing and spluttering
when i went to give it a handfull but not all the time. i have all the usual products
wd40, silicone spray

Steve saunders is you man, tell him your riding weight inc riding kit and
he will send you a spring and tell you how to set it up for your weight
jsp
-
lampkins advised me to turn the mixture screw (on the bottom of the carb)
out 3 1/2 turns but leave the jetting alone, and
so far so good, i prefer a higher tick over which
aids starting and removes any fluffyness at the bottom
end. as for the suspension i got a heavier rear spring
from steve saunders and he advised me on the correct set
up for my body weight. jobs a good en !!!

i love my 2010 300cc beta evo 4 banger, miles easier to ride than the 4rts i have had and i even tried
a gas gas raga and i found i couldnt ride it, i then went to a 300cc rev 4 and that was good but
the evo blows that out of the water. there smooth, powerfull and have the feeling of being light
jsp
-
i dont want to sound disrespectful, but i wonder if the spen valley trial will
still go ahead this saturday
jsp
-
i havent got the wheel but, the did wheels are cheaper than the beta
wheel, that is until you have to start buying or having extra parts
made for it to fit
jsp
-
Does any one know if a DID rear wheel will fit a beta evo 4t or if not
how easy is it to modfiy
jsp
-
i hvae done it on my 4rts and now on my evo, i hold the soldering iron
on the metal untill it melts in to the plastic. i have also repaired mudguards
like this by melting small metal mesh over a crack. i borrow my father in
laws soldering iron which looks a bit like a drill ie not thin and pointy
so weather or not is got more power not sure
jsp
-
i just bought the nipples from a local bolt shop m6 and then drill a 5mm hole
(i think) and tap it out
jsp
-
i would strip it down and fit a grease nipple whilst you have it in bits
then after few power washes a quick squirt of grease and it forces the water
back out of you headstock
jsp
-
i melt them into the plastic with a soldering iron
jsp
-
the ball bearing is held in by a spring and a grub screw
jsp
-
as far as i am aware you can still get all the spares, my mate just bought one and now
keeps taking it from bike to bike. cant remember where i ended up with the needle on the
rev 4 but the info is on here somewhere as well. i ve let the evo alone and touch wood
it never misses a beat
