What oils are people using in the gearbox of ossa
TR280i, ive been using putoline but i have noticed
some bikes with red oil in the sight glass which
is a lot easier to see than the light brown putoline
jsp
-
just looked on aa route planner it would
be 52 miles each way and 1 hour 20 mins
is it that good ?
jsp
-
just seen the regs for the wetherby trial this sunday
and wondered if it is worth riding ?
jsp
-
I have had dealings with birkets under the ossa banner
and they where fantastic nothing was too much of a
problem.
jsp
-
i was told it was something to do with the gases in
the areosol that fill the air box if you spray it and
then fit it straight in and it leaves no room for air,
and i must admit i did have this problem once on my 05 4rt.
i always have a clean oiled filter sat waiting to go
in no matter what bike ive owned weather is 4 stroke
or 2 stroke.
jsp
-
no bothered really as long as we are in there
it just helps keep the mud off the bikes.
just give me a shout if you need any help
marking out.
jsp
-
keep an eye on the horsforth website as
they may put in a link to his website.
i wont be looking only time i saw the
flash go off i was dabbing all over
the place. good event though, same
venue this weekend but spen valley
hosting a club champ trial. hopefully
we will be able to use the stream this
week.

its the the torx screw on the gear lever side on the throttle body with blue paint on it
but you cant just back it off as you need it on the kousan machine to reset the
throttle position sensor, my has run like a dream all day in a trial. you will be supprised
how few hours you have done, the only run in at 40 hours
jsp
-
i use 50ml of fully synthetic oil in 5lits
of fuel.
had it up to the dealer today, yes its on p11 evo
but was just running too rich, leaned it off and
reset the throttle sensor. only time will tell now.
it was interesting to see how hours it had done
i would have said about 40 but the big brother
efi system only showed 21 hours.
jsp
-
is it me or does the back brake lever stick out a lot ?
jsp
-
mines been playing up again ran ok for 2 hours or so
and then cut out tried to restart it with no luck so
i stuck a new plug in and it fired straight up. the
plug that came out is very very black, hopefully
im getting it looked at this week
jsp
-
i ve had a few problems with mine,
found it was a swine to start and then it would
just not bother, dealer and importer where
fantastic, ended up being a dodgy spark plug,
well touch wood it was ive had 6 hours with
no problem. and then the rear brake hose ended
up to close to the shocker and nipped a hole in
it, same again importer and dealer fantastic new
hose here next day. cant fault the bike or the
back up

dont think they will be much use unless your going
to use them to remove the worst of the mud and rewash,
i bought a petrol pressure washer which has a filter
so it will draw water in without being attached to
a hose pipe. i ve never used it but i pressume it
works ok

-
ive used the one at the bottom of the throttle cable,
i wont of knackered it will i ?
jsp
-
is there any way to adjust the tickover manually as
i like mine to tickover a bit faster
jsp
-
just bought a Facom torx for the rear spindle off a well know
auction website, i dont think i will try till that comes to
loosen the rear wheel
jsp
-
sunlingkau, its the rear wheel spindle/bolt system we are
talking about as you undo it it spins the snail cams backwards.
has anyone got an gas gas spindle fitted to a TR280i
i know it wont look as good but i think it maybe more
practical
jsp
-
i had the problem of the snail cams moving when you
try to loosen the wheel, the shop where i got it from
has told me to put some forward pressure on the wheel
which locks the cams, but i havent had time to try it
again. i also asked him if the replacement gas gas spindle
kit would fit but he didnt know.
let me know how you get on.
how are you finding the bike in general ?
jsp
-
i would have never found that, looks just the job so
ive ordered so to test
thanks for the help
jsp
-
any one got a supplier of a good quality clear
or carbon look technosyl as the stuff im using
only last 2 - 3 weeks before it starts coming off.
i get it hot to fit it and clean the area before
with white spirit.
jsp
-
had my second ride yesterday and its got better already,
it seems to be other people that arnt used to it that
struggle to start it.
what a bike im more impressed after each ride
has anyone got any tips or things to check after pressure
washing
jsp
-
i also think it will get alot better as the motor
loosens up mines only been been riden once. the
dealer told me once it had run in it will be 2 kicks
to prime it and one to start, in his words when you
kick it to start it kick it like a 300 gasser and
so far so good
jsp
-
no they wont either due to it not being
road reg'ed.
