repairing it is an option. but you're on the right track by renewing.
its the only way you will ever have piece of mind and faith in the bike.
-
im ever so slightly jelous.
my bike is in pieces, sitting diagonally on the bike stand waiting for parts after my wheel bearing debacle.
im relying on todays post or it'll be the new year before i get to ride which is annoying as i got Bou coming round later for a riding lesson and a bowl of Paella
-
is it just me that walks in the garage and pumps the clutch lever a few times then walks back out?
-
im the same, i dont want tight trousers...thats why i havent bought trials gear, and probably never will.
i ride in motocross kit that i had from before
-
i looked at a pair of those jeans in a trial shop last week.
they look good quality and i think im right in saying that they have a little zipped pocket on them.
handy for a mobile phone and a fiver when your out riding. i cant understand why all trials/motocross jeans dont have a little pocket.
-
have you checked the throttle cable is routed correctly?
-
what sort of advice do you need?
-
i like the levers.
but those check pyjama bottoms are a bit gay
-
yeah i showed him how to do that
-
christ he's good. i got arm pump just watching him.
loved the very end bit.
-
i agree.
you cant introduce an air lock into the braking system if you dont take it apart.
-
yes, i was going to repack it if i had to put it back in..
looking online it seems ive been given a rear wheel bearing instead of a front one. no big deal mistakes happen.
thanks for the link, saved for future use

had a bad day with my bike today.
i been riding it with a worn front wheel bearing for weeks, so i thought id spoil it and buy a new one (it is chrismas after all)
stripped the old one out today, ive been given the wrong bearing. promtly phoned bike shop. closed till thursday. bugger.
gonna have to put the old one back in if he hasnt got one in stock. been looking forward to a ride on thursday or friday.
-
in fairness, the bike is out of warrenty and is coming up 4 years old, it could have been crashed or ridden to death at expert level for its entire life for all Gas Gas know.
even so, they should know beta are looking after their customers with cracked frames and stuff. you should have reminded them of that and told them you will be voting with your feet and spending your money elsewhere from now on.
Yeah ok.
-
have you been taking heroin or something?
-
moved it off the stand, and leant it against a wall.
then put it back on the stand.
-
id be careful doing that.
as canada280i says, make sure there is enough thread is catching, and id maybe use some thread lock on there for good measure.
-
just watched that from start to finish. great vid
-
i bought new front wheel bearings for mine today.
-
you stripped a 2013 bike?
-
also check the date on the wheel rims.
it could have had the wheels replaced but it is a good indication
-
correct, the two pairs of socks trick is just a myth, it doesnt work.
however, i took a tip from a mate that does a lot of hiking and he said to use a thin pair of cotton socks on first, then a thick pair of wooly socks over them.
i think he said something about the thin layer acting like a wick, and absorbing foot sweat away from the foot, whilst the thick sock provides warmth.
or something like that, i may or may not have been severely intoxicated after an all day session at the time. lol.
-
i remember my first day out trialling. i went out with a group of guys that can do almost anything on a trials bike.
i was the worst rider out of all of us, but i damn sure had the most fun.
after coming from a motocross / enduro back ground, i thought i was pretty good rider, till i got on a trials and then i realised i wasnt as good as what i thought i was.
-
What do you guys do to keep your feet warm when out riding?
my hands and feet are generally cold anyway so im up against it from the start.
ive tried two pairs of socks etc
i got good boots (hebo) so not wearing cheap happy shopper ones.
any tips?
-
