A couple of English pints. Stella it is then?
-
I've got a Montesa riding shirt autographed by Doug. So there!
-
Marky Boy,
Your right about can't be bothered riding anymore. Rather sit in the van texting their mates and downloading Britney ringtones.
I wouldn't mind the contact details for the pegs.
Cheers

So If I went to 80:1 with Putoline I wouldn't have any problems?
-
I run Putoline at 50:1 and it seems a bit rich. Would anyone recommend a different ratio?
-
Congratulationns to Doug and Nicola on the birth of Alfie. I think you got the name Alfie... perfect.
Wayne, Keanu or Ronan just wouldn't have had the right ring to it.
-
Although Doug is a 'big bloke' he is as fit as a butchers dog. Being so fit can only help you in a fall, can't it? However sometimes you just hold on to long for your own good.
As regards the Italian photographer. Well what I think of him ryhmes with Ossa.
-
Dabster,
500 - 1 odds . I'll put

Reading a report of the trial there seems to be a great deal of praise for the courage and determination shown by Dougie in completing day 2 of the French Round. Which was contrary to Doctors advice. He even went on the clean the section were he had his serious crash. Much to the delight of the crowd. It even describes Doug as special and not from this planet.
He is special and he isn't from this planet. He's from Yorkshire.
What a bloke?
-
I have no intention of switching to a 4 banger but the people I know who are thinking of switching tend to prefer the Montesa.
-
Another interesting point. If the bikes had gone 4 stroke for the 2005 season as they were supposed to do, who would be leading the WTC?
-
Liverpool ( and I'm not a supporter) had to put the ball in the net 3 times to take it to extra time. At half time and 3-0 down the odds were 250 - 1 for them to do it. Will you give me 250 - 1 for Doug to take the title?
I agree that the 4RT isn't the best of bikes indoors but you cannot compare it to the days when Doug was riding a 315. But who is currently leading the manufacturers WTC?
Also by winning 7 consecutive World Titles Doug has nothing to prove. He has already surpassed Jordi Tarres. An eighth title would be the icing on the cake.
Doug is still one hell of a force to be reckoned with.
-
So Dougs riding style, the style of a 7 times consecutive world champion, doesn't excite you.
Doug is a true sporting legend. If you read the Dougie Lampkin Press Report for France Day 2 and realise the level of pain he has put himself through then you realise what true grit and determinatio he has. Lesser riders would have simply given up not Doug. Reminds me of Grimbo at Hawkstone Park when he suffered an extremely bad knee injury but percivered through extreme pain to finish.
Instead of knocking Doug we should all be behind him 110%. He is still capable of winning this WTC. I might regret what I'm about to say but a good bit of rain at Hawkstone Park wouldn't do any harm. Although it seems a bit biased that Britain only gets the one day.

Dabster do you talk rubbish just to be controversial or what?
Six rounds remaining is still a lot of points to score and this weekend has proven events can turn dramatically. It sounds like France was very much an indoor style round, which suits Raga's and the other Spanish riders styles. The remaining rounds may not suit them.
You must be the only person who thinks the performance of the 4RT has been poor. Which to be frank is absolute rubbish! If anything the 4RT has more than surprised the public and has been proven to be able to compete against the proven 2 strokes, even with such a weight disadvantage.
We will never know where Doug, Fuji and Freixa would be on 315's because they don't make them anymore. Its like asking where would Cabestany be on a 4 stroke Sherco or Raga if Gas Gas actually got round to making one.
I can only assume the Dabster has been out on in the sun to long. This WTC will go to the final round.
She is singing....................rubbish. She hasn't even started to warm up.
Remember Liverpool 3 - 0 down in the Champions League Final. It is all still to play for.
Go on Doug.
-
It will be a sad day for the outdoor WTC if we see the sport develop into a outdoor version of the indoor. I.e. A race circuit venue with 'man made' natural sections. Whilst this will no doubt improve the Eurosport ratings to the non trials riding viewer, this will certainly be to detriment of the true spirit of the WTC i.e. to find the rider who is best at overcoming a great variance of natural obstacles in any type of weather and not who can fire a bike up the biggest steps.
-
I don't know what zebra tastes like but I'll give it a try.
I can see this Trials Central party thing getting out of hand.....................................with a bit of luck.
I think we should also invite Raga, Cabestany and Fujigas along.
-
John B,
you sly old devil. I didn't reaised you'd won Clubman B and after such a long lay off. Well done!
-
I'll be there fully stella'd up
-
For all you Gasser riders out there. Have a look at the pictures of the 2006 model on
www.todotrial.com

Going and telling them your not happy is totally different to going in and shouting the odds. Any decent dealer should be prepared to listen to your greviances.
The quality of the service Kinky Boots has dropped from what he is used to. You have every right to complain, I would imagine the dealer would prefer that to taking your business elsewhere.
-
john B - Not that I'm aware of. I'll give it a try Sunday.
Honda RS - I've looked over the wiring to make sure its connected properly. again it seems okay.
As regards water, this is probably could be a problem, as I drowned it a few weeks ago.
-
Glad to see your back on your bike.
If anything the bike is running a little rich, but otherwise its running spot on. I've checked the tightness of the connections and had the flywheel cover off. A tiny bit of condensation but nothing else. I might take the carb off again, although I do not think its fuel related. From what I've picked up it seems like the ignition timing has advanced, not sure how though.
Are you riding this weekend?
-
Its kick back. I've checked a few plugs and the spark is so weak its untrue. The bike has been running fine once I get it started.
John B
Did you ride the Glaisdale trial? I did the Wainwright, which is tough, sections and it was extremely hot weather.
-
Anyone know where I can get a sherco flywheel puller. The cheaper the better. Alternatively anyone in North Yorks / Teesside area got one /i can borrow?
Cheers
-
I've since found out that the spark is very weak to the point that I cannot see it! However when I put the plug back in it will still fire up after a few kicks.
My mechanical skills are somewhat limited and if it involves more than a squirt of WD40 then I struggle.
