    Hi Joe, Thanks so much for the kind words.I have enormous respect for the guys out there who are capable of building real nice looking and detailed bikes.It definitely takes a lot of time,patience and more talent than I have. That being said,I really do enjoy being out in the shop fiddling with them and doing what I can.It is a great escape,I agree,the old 199A has a huge grin factor.It is not only a great trials bike but also a fantastic play bike. I repacked my club foot last year,but kept it stock.I should probably do the mid box,but it does run really well and IMO sounds better than any other twin shock. Regards, Scott

  4. I hope you can save the GPII,very rare bike! Alex Snoop might be able to help find an engine,but if not it would make a cool Super Pioneer with any five speed pioneer motor.

    Kind of off the topic heading,but I did change the toe piece on my brake pedal and add a stop.

    Thanks Joe and Greeves. Yes,#35 is a 1973 Ossa SDR.It may not be the best looking,but it runs good and handles great through the woods.I really like the kind of power the Ossas make.

    A little slow on the forum so I thought I,d post a few pics of the progress on my brothers 199A/B look-a-like.It,s had it,s share of glitches going back together,but it is getting closer now. Also a pic of the brake pedal I,m making for my A model so I can brake on the left with a rod instead of a cable.It still needs finishing but the rough draft seems to work.

  11. Thanks for all of the replies. Big John and Nigel,that would be great! Pictures and more info from the man himself. Larry and I were taliking the other day after watching some videos(1978 experts in Alabama and the 1982 British experts) about the same topic that Woody brought up.It was amazing what those guys were riding up and with todays tires and suspension our bikes are probably better other than maybe tuning. Steve,that does make sense and I,m sure that is what they where trying to achieve.I hadn,t thought about that because it,s been so long,but I raced a 1979 Maico 400 for some time.The countershaft sprocket on it is right next to the swingarm pivot and when you came out of a corner and got on it hard it would squat,hook up and go. I just finished reading a good interview with Yrjo Vesterinen on another site(don,t know if I can name it without causing trouble).In it he states that he knew there was a problem in 79 with the rear suspension on the Buls. In 82,working with Comerfords they had modified it to a point that it was working better.So my questions are to you guys that have the modified Comerfords bikes. Is it a noticeable difference to the average rider? Which modification achieved the improvement? Just curious and trying to learn more about the history.I would love to try and duplicate one,but just plain old 199 models are hard to come by over here and I,m not about to ruin my A model by "trying " to duplicate one.   13. I felt that I should edit my earlier post.I think it was probably a bit too harsh for me to make without a true understanding of what all the causes were to put the blame in one place. I really only come here to read and talk about one thing,trials, so I shouldn,t have jumped into the deep end without a better understanding of the history. My main question is - do you think it will be possible to track down the last one? Seems like it will be a tough nut to crack,but fun. Cheers, Scott

  15. I have a Plonker and a SDR,but the SDR does not compare to yours Borus.That is a beauty and like you said,very hard to find in that nice of condition.

  17. Hi chefe, Thank you for the picture of how you did the rear fender mounts.Very nice,clean way to do it. Thanks also for the link to your restoration on the tank.Pretty darn cool and you did an excellent job.I don,t think that I could achieve the same results with getting the fibre layed on the tank so nicely. On the page of your restoration it mentioned one option was to seal the inside of the tank and paint it.What do they use to seal the inside of the plastic tanks? Welcome to Trials Central !     HI bondy, I can answer a few of your questions. I think it,s a 1979,but could be wrong on that. It is a 310 The gearbox and clutch share the same oil,not as easy to fill as a Bul. Not sure about the clutch.I have one that has a nice clutch and one that I just can,t get to work well on so it must be operator error. I have never seen a plastic tank for one.   19. jlpar, I had to go back and look at what I had posted because I knew you couldn,t have been talking about my shop being organized! LOL. Larrynz, your red and white one is looking great so far.Thanks for posting to give me an idea of how mine would look dressed in those colors.Be sure to post more pictures when she is finished.   20. Very very nice chefe,looks like you have a whole bunch of time and effort into it.! Do the rear fender bolts screw into the frame tube from the inner side of the fender? Also,how was the raw fibre glass look achieved on the tank and side panels? Thanks much for posting! Cheers,Scott

    Hi bondy, If I,m thinking of the correct one that is the all green verde? As rare as hens teeth over here.I think you will need Woodys expertise on how it compares to a Bul or earlier MAR. I did,however,just finish my first total rebuild of an Ossa engine(175 stiletto) and I can tell you that the Bul is much,much easier to work on.Every shaft in the trans is shimmed along with the crankshaft.I didn,t pay attention when I pulled mine apart so I had to start from scratch and re-shim all of it. If you do pull the trigger and buy it let us no and post some pics!
