Without proper regulation, any sport becomes a runaway train, with less and less teams and riders able to compete at the top level. Many sports, including F1 have introduced numerous restrictions over the years to hold it back and make it possible for the small teams to compete and its still a 1 horse race! Trials has had none for the last 50 years, its no wonder its become elitist. Going to 2 classes was admitting defeat, there should have been a stand taken then to curtail the advancement and keep as many riders in the top grade as possible. 3 grades will only take GP even further away from the semi professional or good amateur.
All GP is good for at the moment is the top 5 and the odd spectator. It does nothing for the advancement of the sport and the aspiring amateur rider. When national champions cant compete at the top level there is something fundamentally wrong

World trials became a joke when it introduced 2 classes, and now you want to introduce 3?
-
I don't know what your intentions are but Id be very wary about spending money on a barrel like this or a piston to suit if you're planning to put it on a trials bike. A good chance its been tuned for something other than trials
-
No. Probably been on a kart at some point
-
Everything bar the tank. I think the thinner tank came in 2013

Most clubs i know have the results very soon after the end of the trial (which is great) what i hate is the total delay in making them available to everyone. They are like a closely guarded secret. A couple of pics and an upload to FB takes 2 minutes.
Back in the day you could have got the results in a saturday night paper or heard them on the radio on the way home. Waiting to monday for results that were completed shortly after the trial is not acceptable. I don't know whether its because the person who has been counting is totally sick of looking at them come 5 o'clock, but the amount of times ive said can i take a pic of these and share them around only to get a confused look.

Ive been caught with the same thing regarding Amazon Prime and BT. Transparency and your interests are not at the forefront of these organisations, only their short term profits.I know with Amazon Prime you can cancel within a short period for a full refund, maybe MotoGP have the same, although if you really intend to buy it then you have no real need.
Automatic subscription should be an opt in, not something to opt out of

Wheres your forks on the triple clamps? Maybe drop the clamps a little
-
Husky or husaberg didn't have a trials bike....
-
Not a fan of those general style of levers, but formula really did a good job with them in keeping them small and neat, so much so when i had them on my 2012 gg i never replaced them. If you're a newbie, then you might not know that standard levers aren't that much of an improvement over the ones you have
-
Why do you want to balance with the wheel straight?
-
AFAIK yes, but ive never seen inside a 2019 so cant say for sure. Try GGUK
-
2019 has a different spring and adjustable preload. Spring was previously 1.5mm. 2019 its 1.2mm

I kinda wish they had went back to trying a 1 for a stop, but oh well. Some people argue stopping showcases skill, and while i still believe riding something nonstop should be rewarded in some way, a 5 for a stop was much too harsh
Anyone else think a minute sounds rather brief? It used to be 1min30, and i guess they are maybe trying to keep it like non stop with very brief stops, but i bet theres a lot of nonstop sections at the moment that take longer than a minute to ride.
As for the extra point for the best lap, i didn't think there was really anything wrong before. Always thought 20-17 was very little gain for a win, so i don't really know if the potential to have 23-17,or even 20-19 helps. I guess it adds a bit of variation. Technically if the 6th place man has a best lap, then he will have the same points as the man who finished in 5th (11). Heck theres even the chance of the 6th place man with 2 best laps coming away with more points than the 5th place man (12v11)!! While unlikely, not very fair
I hate to be critical, but i guess its good they are trying something, the current rules were definitely flawed. I wish the fim were as forthright
-
Where did you get that from?
-
I wonder if competitors were consulted. Sometimes you find with these kind of things, the people who are effected the most are the ones with the least say
-
See the link below

What's people's thoughts? Personally I think it sounds kinda silly. Even if you don't like the current fim rules I always think you should follow them to best help our riders that compete on the world scene.
-
My mate used to joke that thats how you could tell you had a good one. Reasonably common back in the day when new
-
In my eyes its not an iconic raga. The gold ones have more prestige i guess, as much as i hate the sight of them
-
It depends what you are going to be doing. If you want to learn proper trials and maybe do the odd competition then id go for the 250, the 300 could be too much in a confined space. If you're getting a trials bike just to rake about and practice the odd technical bit to enhance your enduro riding then there is no harm in the 300
-
Agree with everything you said, bar Bou, if Fuji is anything to go by, Bou has at least another 7 years in him
-
First year of trial2/junior was 2000, Raga won it. Bou rode the european youth class 2001, 2002, then went straight to GP for 03 at 16 years of age, rode the whole season (bar japan i think) and had a few top 10s
-
Probably not as good as Bou's... Oh yeah thats right, he never even bothered riding trial2, straight to GP!!!!!
-
I cant really remember back that far for details, but when youre that close to winning, ie two consecutive 2nds, i just think you have to think bigger at that age and do what's best for rider development.
2007 he was second to MB, don't think he could have done much different. There wasn't that much to choose between them at times yet MB was capable of moving up, but AW stayed down. 2008 i think 50/50, he was capable of moving up but ok, stay down and win it and then move up. 2008 came and he finished second to Gubian i think. Gubian then moved up, who AW had beaten in 2007 and yet AW still stayed down while beyond doubt capable of moving up. 2009 i think he should have cut his losses and forgot about trial2. When 2010 came, there were then 2 riders that he had previously beaten between him and MB
I can kind of see TM doing the same. He may try to stay down for 2020 and then someone like gelabert might win it.
But hey, im on the outside looking in, i don't know 10% of what was or is going on in both riders cases

I disagree, mx trousers are supposed to be used in conjunction with separate knee protectors. On their own they are useless regarding knee protection. Slightly better heat resistance and yes prices are more favourable
If your exhaust is melting trousers then you really should have a heat shield over it incase some day it ends up on top of you. As silly as lsv's post may seem, wax cotton or leather is really the only thing that will stand up to a bare 4T exhaust (assuming its your ariel thats doing the melting). I know a guy who got badly burned by a mx 4t exhaust and all he wears now are old leather mx trousers. All modern trousers are polyester, so they will all melt
