First trial today since doing forks, as I said new seals 200cc oil but when going over step or pick up front end quickly they clunk on the rebound?? springs shot ?? Any ideas??

This was an early bike at the bike show back in the day, my bike was reg'd Jan 78. Thanks for info so far, re writing books, the trouble is it's a limited readership so therefore not necessarily worth it as an earner. Publishers would want to cover costs up front, the author could be out of pocket..... and Mick Andrews probably realises this otherwise he would have cashed in years ago.

This has possibly been asked / covered before. Has anyone got info on the numbers of original Majesty Yamahas 250s produced?? I am curious to know how many Yam framed bikes were modified, as well as numbers of the later Godden framed bikes were produced. I have an early Yam framed bike, it needs cosmetics more than anything,the frame is black and doesn't look as if it has ever been painted since it was originally built, all frames seem to be red . yellow or white??,I am wodering if it is one of the 1st?? 1978 S reg, it sold recently on the bay but highest bidder was clearly bored and decided to bid but not contact me after so I have decided to keep it. Any info would be greatly appreciated.....

Stafford prices for many bikes were low, Japanese bikes especially. Some Brits did well. Can't comment on the Bultaco and Ossa, not my field. Majestys on ebay recently failed to sell, some high start priced Tlr stuff on there with no hope of a bid, maybe things have levelled out (for the wannabe investors/polishers)

Recently saw a pic of what looked like a Fantic 240 frame, a TY mono engine fitted and a disc brake up front.

Put some new fork seals in the Fantic 200 t/s. Have they got as std some tube/ spacer above the spring?? I have some 4" pieces in mine, fitted the seals, 2 in ea leg ??(this may not help??) and 200cc of 10 grade oil. They seem a little stiff now, may be okay after a trial but may have had spacers due to springs being worn ?? What have others found in their forks when stripped ?? Thanks..

I am sorting a front hub to build the wheel. The spokes are small (2.5) guage. Has anyone fitted 3mm, or drilled the hub for bigger?? . Also what rim size are people going for (wm) . Thanks in advance...
