  1. But you see you make the numbers up and the winner is that much further infront of you.....but without you crashing down to earth the winner has only themselves to beat! Without you they would be just finishers.?
  2. Without runners up there would be no champions?
  3. This is exact.y what happens to one who is smitten with their sport, no compromise. You carry on as you are, 125’s rule if you feel comfortable. A 250 is just a bigger piston covering the same ground?? Useless and useful content always available 24/7??‍♂️??‍♂️?
  4. There is nothing like camoflage to disguise a flop ride. Unlike wearing a ‘here I am’ multi coloured twin set riding kit????‍♂️
  5. Well there is something to be said for having an old bike, tweed jacket and moleskin trousers matched with a nice matching flat cap and aviator goggles.....excellent choice for your dayglow TRS or Red devil Beta. Look tendy in the pub after an all conkering ride.....sections swept clean! See what I did there ....self marketing etc.
  6. Ah you see thats the secret in having been a dealer I know what the items probably cost, well a close idea.?
  7. There are other manufacturers?
  8. Kit offered as a deal maker....true cost of kit (clothing only) about £17.00 mark up at whatever the dealer thinks to retail the kit at. £17 off the bottom line sale price of the bike is not going to affect dealers profit margin by much....one sold bike.

    Evo 4T wiring

It might be easier to unwrap the harness and carefully seperate the wires that you need from the wires that you don’t. Photogragh everything and label all ends. You may also need to snip lighting wires and obtain the correct connectors. When you have done all this the weight saved will not be that much but the bike will look tidier and sone maintenance tasks could be easier.
  10. It’s more a question of area or county more correctly. UK being rather small in size and limited in space thanks to the new high speed railway to nowhere except bankrupcy. Places to organise trials are becoming more difficult, thanks to that and more house building eating up more land. A study on this web site should help you in your quest. You really need to look at a central location where you will be best placed to be able to get to which ever trial you want to enter, you’ll need to join a club or clubs for that usually. There lies the secret, the clubs that run the most events per year possibly have better access to land for trials use. If you already have employment in the UK then fairly obviously locating yourself near to work is more important!?
  11. Theres no time like the present, you'll look really fetching ( fetching what I dony know) especially when a bit of mud splatter hits yer rear end....incontinence rule ya!
  12. Thats it then, we’re all as they say getting on a bit in years. When you see a collection of brightly colour contrasting leather wearing sport bike riders stopped somewhere, once the helmets are off and they are all standing about looking for all the world like they’ve just a rugby ball in the nuts.? Its obvious there won’t be one of them under the age of 50......thats really old by most yuuffs reckoning....fortunately thats the age when a lot of us...er hem...prove to be irresistable?? to the opposite sex??. As for Mr.DeVito he was supposed to be a babe magnet....or was it food....well a magnet of some sort!
  13. Oh....so not Roger Daltrey with flowing blond locks of hair. ?‍♂️“Does me a*** look big in this?” Adam Ant had the right idea those 14 inch heels would have been really handy in the streams and mud....need to reposition ......everything on the bike though. Scoop news....latest trials garments from J § Gault*er ?for him and ?...its clear the bike gear wardrobe time again, you lucky people!
  14. You have answered your own question! As you say ‘ as a fab shop owner’ ... now theres two options to this fab thing, one is its a clothes shop selling fab clothing darling dont you know....or its a fabrication workshop....options chosen....you say ‘I know I can make anything fit so please dont go there’...why? Bet you couldnt fit anything bigger in that tiddly frame...how about a Harley Davidson Flathead 750 and gearbox. Now if its a fab clothes shop can you get Levis nice and cheap? Seriously if you do a quick measure up I’m sure you will find that Mr Honda rather than design a different crankcase for each model XR/XL or TLR you will find they are the same so should slot in nicely. Gear ratios and spacing wil be different. I’ll keep quiet about the Reflex thing but you do know its a tr.........oops sorry??
  15. Oooohh! You are awful.....but nice??
  16. Its a bling thing....Power Ranger one piece leathers for super bike owners....must match the bike colours. So it follows for trials riders, it not by chance these leotard devices the top riders wear are made of stretchy (very in some cases) lycra and offered to the public to shoe horn themselves into. Totally missing the point about looking lythe and athletic. Barbour and Belstaff were able to cover a wide (literally) range of body shapes and disguise many of us as a part of the crowd. You could bash through hedges and snag bushes without even a ladder appearing in yer tights?
  17. If you ever bought an Aprilia Mille ( road bike) these were restricted when new, they had washers in the exhuast front pipes and an ecu power restriction circuit. Bloody quick in restricted mode but dealers were supposed to remove the washers and snip the ecu wire to release full power while performing the first service. A great many owners never knew about the restrictions and a great any dealers never actually removed the restiction. So a washer in the front pipe of a two stroke would certainly cause coke build up but I doubt it would cause any increase in heat around that area. Retarding the ignition is not a good idea, timing to close to TDC can cause the engine to run in reverse ..not good for a timid rider! Advancing the ignition will introduce starting issues and idling problems...again not good for the timid rider. Restricting how far the throttle slide can travel is a relatively easy thing to achieve and will prevent unwanted wheelies or tree hugging if too big a handful of revs is grabbed. There are two ways to do this restriction, one is to insert a plastic ring cut from a tube of appropriate diameter and fitted on top of the slide so that it hits the underside of the carb top, the plastic spacer must be free to move and not jam. The second way is to merely work out how much of a restiction to throttle slide movement is needed and then to drill? a small hole and screw in a self tapper point removed. Easily returned to normal by plugging the hole when the screw is removed using suitable filler. Sounds bodgey but it worked for a ‘ try a trials bike’ event that I ran for a charity do, we had no idea who was going to ride or their skill levels so had to account for the lumbering great fairground workers that were next to my display area and the fairer sex that took great delight in riding around and over obstacles. ?

    Jt350

Do the bulbs not have any markings to indicate which voltage? Connect a votlmeter to the lighting coil output wire ....if it has one ....run engine and heypresto power wire and earth = ? voltage. Im guessing you’ll see about 6 volts
  19. £Mean effective gas pressure acting through the con rod on the crankshaft big end journal (crank pin/ big end) when the crank gets to 90 degrees passed TDC the effective gas pressure disipates rapidly. Power is work done ....more revs means more work being done until the constraints of engine breathing, gas flow and combustion efficiency etc prevent any more effective work, so the engine may rev to say 9,000 rpm but produces max power (work done) at 7,500 rpm after this the effective work done tails off due to the aforementioned. Bigger valves, improved bresthing in the inlet, combustion chamber design and engine management controls such as ignition mapping and fuel delivery can improve and raise power at higher rpms. Torque is the maximum leverage any engine can produce and this is usually lower down the rev range, a short stroke engine would be 2-3000rpm (example) lower than the max power rpm. Therefore torque is a moment of force in the rotational equivalent to linear force. When engine revs were not so high in the years gone by it was sometimes the done thing to drill large holes into the flywheel(s) and pack with lead to increase flywheel weight and therefore create more inertia but the engines were slower to rev because the piston now had a heavier mass to turn. This mass took longer to slow down hence big old four stroke singles were able to lug up hills and through sections without much throttle input once underway. Some early strokers were also modded in this way by adding mass weight. Either way the original post asked for weights, irrespective of this and all previous valid and interesting replies, it really comes down to the space factor. The crankcases can only accept so much inside them as space is already tight. A larger diameter flywheel might be possible by adding an outside band to the original flywheel...welded in place, screwed in place or both...shrunk on would also work but secured again by additional devices or methods. Thats assuming it was achieveable and assuming the engine could deal with this increased mass....you may even suffer crankshaft windage or even shearing off due to the mass. One thing would be very real though and that is your engine will not respond to throttle inputs as readily as before. Rather than mess about why dont you go the more power route with a bigger bore or engine porting and ignition and fuelling modifications. The first starting point is rider weight, stamina and concentration. The next step is bike set up and maintenance, attention being to the brakes and smooth operation, suspension pivots etc and wheel free running, chain maintenance, cooling system, everything as the manufacturer intended.....then go for more power!??Dont forget to use the best quality fuel as well, no use us investing time with you if you skimp in important areas.
  20. Slacken rear wheel spindle nut, now try to see if you can generate any rock in the spindle where it goes through the swing arm lug. If there is this could causing your problem. The spindle should be a snug fit, if not you may need to check if the lugs are worn or ovalised. A thin shim might be a quick fix but not the permanent one. Chain guard mountings not bent, chain guard right side of securing bracket. Did you have this issue before replacing bearings, if not then you may need to spring the swing arm outwards very slightly, by 2-3 mm so only a tiny amount. Refit the wheel and leave the spindle slack, don’t tighten the spindle nut. Does the tyre clear the bolt head, if yes then you need to look at the spacers....you are looking for signs of size difference... are each spacer identical. Many trials bikes have contact issues with the tyre rubbing against something from exhaust to chain guard and other brackets etc, not always easily cured. Everyone has suggested possible fixes for your problem, you must appreciate it may be something simple that you have overlooked, were the bearings checked against the old ones....this could be an area of fault. As already mentioned by 2stroke4stroke its more important in aligment terms to have the chain aligned with the gearbox sprocket, and that may be your answer.?

I doubt it, unless the gearbox sprocket can move on the output shaft.
