ric h thanks for taking the trouble show us the video, that is a nice looking trials bike and would certainly do for me to plod about on. It looks to be just as well made as the Spanish offerings, if not better! If the cost new in the UK was as is being suggested then the value of second hand bikes for sale at the same level is going to take a hit. Stood alongside the competition the Chinese machine only loses out on weight, I suspect thats down to the starter motor.

You have certainly done an excellent restoration job on your TY....hope you are proud of it. You should loan it to a museum then it would be in a heated environment free of condensation. You could visit ? You could try a vacuum pack storage bag, these are advertised on the net. This would mean that you could use that awful shed to store your TY in. If it was mine I’d have the bike in the house like a family pet.?

errr horses for courses, a pent up 300 (250 even) in a tight turn on muddy going or rocks can be an even bigger handful than a 1000cc Sportbike. Get the newest Evo that you can afford, EU emissions wont have spoilt the engine otherwise the manufacturer would not be able to sell them to competitive riders.

Best ask your daughter first if she actually wants to learn to ride. Mobile phones are the norm now, expected to be used in class to aide learning....utter crap.....just distracts the learner from the subject being taught, also prevents the art of conversation between face to face humans. There are quite a few clubs in your area, a search on Google should give you a selection. What bike you get for your daughter assuming she can tear herself away from the mobile depends on many factors, depending on her stature will have a bearing on the type of bike. Costs will be another consideration, an 80cc bike might be a starting point. If you are going to encourage her to compete then you best check the rules. Getting her kitted out with the right riding apparel is going to be like buying a dress for your other half with no idea of colour and no sizes to go by? have fun with that. Get her to check out some trials on her phone, female riders too and then take her to a trial or two before committing to bike etc. I sincerely hope that your daughter gets the trials bug as the sport needs more young people to get involved.??

More like approx 30 cc. Go for it get a 300, you’ve had a 250 so previous experience should help you deal with any percieved extra shove from the engine. Alot of riders prefer the 250 but then thats because the bike does everything they want it to. Try and get a go on a few before paying to own one.

Dont you mean TRIALS you could be upsetting people? When you drain the oil leave the bike to drain overnight to get most of it out. Try to get the bike in the best position to allow complete draining. Overfill the transmission snd oil will lesk out of the output shaft seal, breather and anywhere else so be carefull on quantities. Make sure you use the correct type of oil dont throw in the first available lube.

There are gear pullers made for automotive application. Feetupfun has fabricated a workman like puller which with a little work you could either make or as the mechanics to remove the gear are demonstrated a skilled engineer should be able to perform the task. Hope you have sone luck.

If its a tube type tyre combination you are possibly seeing the air trapped in between the tube and the tyre carcass slowy escaping. When fitting a new or refitting a used tyre always try to get the bead evenly set before inflating and a little tyre soap applied by finger or toothbrush helps the bead sit and to set centrally to the rim. Doubtful the pressure you applied would do damage to the rim tape, but well over the inflation pressure safety limit for the tyre carcass, if it blew it could kill or seriuosly injure you?

Last resort, track back on the previous owners if thats possible, start with the friend.Happy hunting?

Now you know why most trials bikes with drum brakes aren’t very powerful in the stopping of forward motion. Practice riding without touching the front brake, a little dab of rear brake helps when taking a tight slow turn....but forget the front keep that for an “oh sh#t moment??

Picture 1 and 2 at the between the 1 and 2 o'clock position. Could be wrong as its only photo but certainly worth checking for distortion. You might have a 212cc engine Fantic made the TX250 (125cc) and the TX 350 (212cc) and thats confusing enough, I could never understand Fantics reasoning for calling a 125 a 250 etc?A more well informed Fantic officianardo will possibly be along to correct the details?

Doesn't look that special from the photos. What are you comparing the porting to? Looks like the cylinder head has not been seated properly as there are signs of combustion leakage. Can you show the rear of the bike and a better look at the ports is possible?

Plz plz do a search on here at TC or Google for manufacturers msnuals, specs and details, you may even find a replacement or alternatives for the damaged cooling items you mention. It sounds as though this machine has been bodged up. There is no sudden quick fix for this engine cooling problem. The head gasket has probably blown and is part of the boiling issue, compression is leaking into the cooling system and forcing coolant out. The coolant by the way should be an anti-freeze and water mix at about 50/50 ratio ( the a/f raises the boiling point of water and as the cooling system only holds marginally enough capacity to actually cool the engine is an important component). The fact there has been previous work done needs careful investigation. As lineaway suggests having the cooling fan running all the while isn’t a problem. Putting the bike back to standard....remove all the bodge stuff and decide how much you can afford to pay for spares and repairs. This all may seem a bit straight forward but you need to ask yourself what condition is the engine in....cylinder bore and head for a start. Hope you can find what you need.

Football shin pads....slide em down inside a football type sock on each leg. You can position them where you need protection most, Elastoplast tape or Duct tape them to your leg..calf...it will hurt when you pull them off...all thisechairs pulled out?but you will be protected, also great if you have a knock about footie session between sections?⚽️
