  1. Nice one Glyn, have a great time,
  2. Horrible crash from one of my favourite BSB riders at Cadwell over the weekend, anyone who saw it will know how painfull and serious the accident must be for him and his career. Get well soon Leon, hope the recovery goes well and we'll see you back out next season
  3. Glyn, thats a cracking online manual/diary of your bike almost hope it breaks down every week looking at what youve what youve done so far if you know what I mean. Should help loads of people
  4. Did you blow the carb out with an air line to clean it? if not blow it out as something might be stuck in a jet or passage. Disconnect the kill switch encase your problems there, sometimes they can be the cause of many hours of pulling bikes apart
  5. Is it a graded wheelie section? I might actually get a clean on the day then
  6. Thanks for the info Johnnysherco as you say a great bike once sorted out a little to personal preference. You ve got nearly the same gearing as mine, you must have up ya a*** sections as well that need very low gearing. Yer bars are odd? well low? wished i had found it out earlier but perfect now with risers and renthals. Baldilocks, carb only wets itself a little if its tipped over, nowt like the mukuni though, bit like Dad when he doesnt quite get up a nasty step and lets abit out, not much but enough to make a mess The 07 Caby tank is alot smaller than the 06 tank and standard tank thats why I'm running low most of the time, got the fuel bottles now so shouldnt happen again?????????
  7. 23rd Physco Man17 site Remember to hide for an hour before the first section, will be slippy
  8. Physco, quite a few of our lot will be doing it and as you say a nice ride round on different terrain, me and Ralph did it last year for the first time and really enjoyed it, hope to ride abit better this time though. Pretty sure its the 23rd not the 18th though mate . If you pass some old bloke pushing a caby along the road out of petrol, swearing alot and smoking a roll-up that will be me
  9. Rabie...........your gonna make a great politician mate
  10. It is a greedy Carb Baldilocks, along with the time it spends upside down or on its side I recon I'm only getting 15 miles out the bugger
  11. I know Barry, i would have taken spare fuel but i didnt realise how far it was to the first stream sections Ralph kindly bought me a 500ml fuel bottle a few weeks ago after the Dave Roland double run out but as i said i didnt take it. Dad went back and brought me some fuel back in his trusty 1 litre Lucozade bottle as he was the only one who knew the way yesterday. Took fuel the second time out and used it, last time out suggested I left it as we wouldnt be long and Dad said "Take the ******* bottle you ****" so I filled it quick. Got the Hipwell coming up next month, second road Trial on the caby so really, really dont want to run out there, Ralphs going to get me a 750ml as a back up as well...........................

    4rt Flame Trap

haha, nice one legend I can almost remember dads exact words on this subject yesterday!!!!!!!!! come on mate tell it as it is
  13. Glad it worked Baldilocks hope its given abit more grunt low down as well. Day out in the Welsh streams yesterday, thought i had got abit of water in the system early on as the bike was loading up quite abit and got generally worse as the morning went on. Dad said his 315 used to do it with the weather getting abit cooler and the cold water splashing on the engine etc, a small turn of the air screw sorted it out (about one 8th of a turn) the Keihin is obviously abit sensitive to temp and pressure. Must order a set of those new Jitsie air screw/idle bolts for the K, will be invaluable i recon. PS...................ran out of ******* petrol again
  14. As Brucey said try wire wool, I use 00 grade to get the worst marks off then 0000 to finish and smooth out any marks/scratches. You might see very tiny marks from the wool but if the whole header is cleaned like this it comes up real nice. Best cleaner I have found so far is Peek far better than Autosol and can be used to clean/polish all sorts of things, can even get the most stuburn marks off the Legends bike
  15. The drilling mod wont make a p*** bit of difference to it not starting on anything but level ground, the bike sounds like its loading up on the downhill sections, not sure how to cure that if the float height is set correctly already. But on the bright side these bikes are the last with Mukuni on them so no more starting probs and fuel p****** everywhere come October
  16. Nasty................................ looks like something out of HellRaiser, hope it knits up well Honda, wont be out on the bike for a few days by the looks of it. Did ya bollock the missus for leaving the wire trailing?????
  17. As GIZZA said sounds like water getting in the combustion chamber and making steam, check your coolant level and see if its low, be worth checking your plug as well encase the bikes running very lean.
  18. There are times you need or feel more comfortable to ride on the ball of your foot but most of the time you need the arch on the peg. The back brake can be squeezed instantly from there and you should just need to bend your foot to use the brake, most situations you wont have time to move your foot to a different position to hit the brake, it will be too late to do so. Try practicing both techniques before you get into a bad habbit, it took me ages to get rid of keeping my finger covering the front brake and I still have to tell myself not to do it on most sections. Using the front brake to much where the back would be best unsettles the front end causing the forks to dive and unloading the rear end.
  19. Had the privilage of chucking a few spanners over the Legends 02 sy this week, I was well impressed how they are put together and built. Easy to work on considering how compact the unit is and the rear shock is quite clever how it works and mounts. Header is SS and looks like new still and i got the feeling the sy's would last a very long time even without much doing to them. Did a trial with Dan on the weekend and the sy carb and air box was pretty much clean compared to the caby's dirt it picked up during the day, although saying that mine did get alot closer to the mud than the legends Also noticed how little mud came out of the Sy's air filter whilst being washed compared to the Sherco?
  20. You'll get used to where it is soon enough the more you ride, you can adjust it higher or lower if it makes things easier. Try riding with the arch of your foot on the pegs , the brake is easier to get to from there, expect your riding with the top part of your foot on the pegs so you have to move to get to the brake.
  21. Andy must be slacking, maybe get away with one post, two is unheard of and three requires castration. Wentbridge..........welcome to TC mate, take a quick perusal of the Forum rules and you should'nt go far wrong did ya get an "E" yesterday in English when the results came through the letter box? Barry, I think its chineese mandarin or something mate
  22. Aarons right, Betas love high Octane fuel, get some AvGas in them 50/50 and they run sweet havent noticed much change though in the Sherco from normal super unleaded to AvGas so will stick with the pump stuff.
  23. I heard the mistake happened as he was dazzled by the silver ware sat in the front seat of the car
  24. Neo, the float shut off needle is worn, dirty or f****d, its not shutting the fuel off to the carb. Check it with the carb off the bike and the float bowl off
  25. Texan Bars forgot about those, a fav as well, guaranteed to pull any loose teeth out or fillins in one bite I can remember when Mars bars were 5p each and went up to 7p due to inflation probs in the early 70,s I think. Oh and can also remember my dad moaning when petrol went up to 70p a gallon? thats about 15p a litre.
