    Beta 125

Is that model fitted with a 'cat'?
  2. Just to add to the debate I've been running my 315 and my lads 125 gasser at 80:1 on the Ipone strawberry stuff for over a year with no problems
  3. If the clutch is too heavy and your boy is not too big you should be able to get away with removing a couple of clutch springs until he builds up the strength.
  4. Thanks for this post. I've had my 315 for 10 months and although I am getting used to it I just thought it was a bit lively, especially in second. Never thought about gearing but checked to find I had a 12 on the front!! Just ordered a 9 so we'll see how much slower the trees seem to be.
  5. Probably better to carry the Rascal on the back of the bike!
  6. Certainly looks like a bike that begins with a W and ends with a K, but I'm not sure its an S in the middle!
  7. Not sure if the format will be similar but my son (14) did one of Graham's schools at Back Cowm last year, unexpected bonus was that he was helped out by Shaun Morris and Mika Vesterinen with the group split into 3 and switched between the different instructors during the day also taking into account your ability. It was a great day topped off by the 3 of them showing how it should be done. I'm sure you will have a great day. Penno
  8. Does anybody have a recommendation for sourcing tyres (inc fitting) in the North West?

    315r Knocking

Make sure that you are using high octane petrol like Shell Advanced as a first step
  10. If you search 'Classic British Trials Bikes' on Amazon.co.uk there's a used copy for
  11. What about those spikey jobs from Ice Speedway, they'd be really good over big logs!
  12. Picked it up in Warrington a couple of weeks ago
  13. Worst case of fallen arches I've ever seen, and I'm not even a doctor!
  14. I have the urge to re-pack the silencer on my 2003 315R. I haven't taken anything apart yet but looking at the silencer it seems to be riveted. Will it naturally come apart if I dismantle the exhaust or do I need to drill rivets out?
  15. Have the dates/venues been confirmed yet for next years WTC?
  16. Interesting in comparison to the Scott 'Two Stroke Cowboys' video to see where the sport has gone in thirty-odd years, also good to see after this weekend that the Scott seems to be as strong as it ever was.

If it helps at all I picked up a set of cheap small plastic funnels from a local hardware shop and used one that fitted in the end of the nozzle from a tube of mastic/sealant with the tapered end of the nozzle into the filler. It was rigid and easy to hold but pour slowly.
  18. Probably worth ensuring you are properly earthed before mounting or the static could be lethal!
  19. Regular use of the oven for warming up casings to extract bearings or baking freshly painted hardware always gets a laugh (not).

    Pink Oil?

At a guess it's probably Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) rather than standard engine oil which a lot of riders use and is red in colour.
  21. Can't specifically say where your problem is but the clutch on my 2003 315R is one finger operation. As the previous post said you probably need to work through it systematically checking that all the component parts are correct and serviceable and that the operating system is working properly and you are running a good quality gearbox oil and hydraulic fluid.
  22. Growing up and getting into bikes in West Lancs in the 70s I was able to tune into Manx Radio when the TV only had three channels. The voices of Peter Kneale and Geoff provided the backdrop to some of my greatest motorcycling memories. My condolences to his family at the sad loss of a loved one who was a great ambassador for all two wheeled sport.
  23. Hi Lee Thanks for the response which makes sense of what happened on my 315 which was fitted with a big tank when I bought it and the tank was painted but within a couple of weeks the paint just lifted off in a big sheet. I'll have a look at sealers. Cheers Penno
