  1. By the way post in the correct forum under bikes/ Aprilia that is the only way one of us can keep on finding the thread to help!
  2. I thought my reply went through. New web site not quite up to par. The carb needs to be removed and all the jets cleaned out. Th e pilot jet and or choke and air circuit is plugged up.
  3. Yes, put a new plug in. A bp?es whatever will work. Your problem is still more likely the carb. Unless you have an air leak or a worn out motor.
  4. Did the arm break or the knuckle? The knucle off xl350,xl250 can work.
  5. If you rode just a little when you got it, but refueled and went for a long ride the bike would be burning out all the old oil from the pipe and muffler.

    Honda Tl 125

Have you another bike to compare to? The little 125 does not make much power to pull other gears up hill. And the miss could be the dreaded 4 stroke cough, you just have to be smooth on the throttle. A lot of people on the 125 geared them lower. And if you have the interest, a 145 or bigger bore kit does wonders.

    Mick On Ty

Nice vids. He always seemed to have the perfect stance. He was my hero as a kid. Got to be one of the happiest riders I ever met.

  9. That `am I on the second floor` is so correct. I borrowed a very clean 350 last weekend to chase my son.! The weight removed is too much the other way. I would leave it alone or remove a little at a time. My opinion would be your true riding ability. If you are a solid expert on a modern go extreme, otherwise the stock bike is more capable than most. The power feels flat, but it will get you over anything. This mono should pull second all the time, which should change your mind on how slow the feel is. My first mono I always ran 50:1. Hope this helps, I always liked the TY.
  10. Double check the two mounting bolts on the brake and also the disc. And it is `normal`.
  11. 80 to 1 with a good oil. Do not remember using ATF in a fantic, Dot 4 should be right but check the clutch cap since fantic did use mineral oil at one point. That is all I remember off hand.
  12. Nice reply MB. The internal tape story was from the rules chairman? I`m sure it will be a learning experience for all concerned. By the way I would have added 4 more 5`s to my score yesterday using these rules , but we do not use them yet!
  13. First off that would not be a 5. That is what this rule fixed. An example would be going over a log, but 2 ft away the marker falls off. You have to actually touch the marker, not some stupid rock or other poor way of placement falls apart while you are in a section. Now on the bad side, all the riders will have to deal with bad placement of the markers. Nothing worse than a whole trials of some trialsmaster trying to force the direction of the rider at every critical spot instead of using the natural boundries. The NATC tries to always use FIM rules. One of the reasons is so our Pro riders are competing with the same current rules. The Trials de Nations teams are then already prepared, so no surprise at the event. This rule is not going to change, so we might as well get used to it. I think it is a better rule. The problem is for years we have always pushed the limit by riding over the splits. You can use ribbon to fix it some what. A ribbon connected to an outside tape can be ridden over. A ribbon connected to an inside marker(split) cannot be touched. This is the part of the rule that could use some tweaking. Very confusing to all invovled. I hope I have explained it correctly. I spoke with two NATC board members this last weekend and they do not see this as that much an issue as the rule is pretty basic. Touch a split maker get ready to see a full hand fom the scorer!!
  14. Yeah, nothing like driving all those miles to get an unexpected five! Had that happen two diferent years. Worst was in NY one year when I was the only one to clean a section. Newbie puncher did not understand what all the commotion was about, so punched another 5. I was so excited I did not notice till the end of the loop. I have double checked every punch ever since! Cope thought is was another across the pond deal, but we should have some common sense on these. Maybe I can steal a cold beer off Brian. I`ll reply back monday!
  15. Speak your mind and I`ll get an answer. Tommorrow morning I`ll be driving by the NATC CEO`s home. I always welcome a little banter! He actually has quite the open mind. (A friend I started in trials got him started shortly after.) I heard rounds 3 and 4 had similiar problems with scorers that have always been fair to me! New rules and rules that should not change run a fine line in an old sport.
  16. I can find out this weekend. Somebody had to be complaining on how we let it slide. The rule itself makes sense. A split is off limits. Trouble is trialsmasters always put them at critical locations. These locations should have yellow ribbon so the rule itself changes to the ribbon rule ,not the split. You could say it goes back to poor trialsmanship. The best sections seem a mile wide with so many choices that the right one is almost impossible to find! BEST SECTIONS EVER, the ute cup where there would be a rock garden with a start gate and way in the distance you could see the other scorer at the end gate. That type of section took away all silly rules.
  17. Those ten bolts are tightening a spring. No need for anything except the proper sequence. Once tight they will not move. I would scream if I went to `fix` a bike in the dirt and could not remove a simple bolt!
  18. This weekend I am riding a two day at Sipapu ski area in NM. Next weekend the vintage trial at Bull Hollow raceway,Montecello Utah! Why are you needing a discussion group? I heard every one is related !!!! It`s like what 26 riders from one family!

    Montesa

Well to be fair Honda has owned that for a long time. They had quite a few crap models. The 315 and 4rt are quite refined than the previous models.
  20. Paul, keep riding all you can. Especially with a buddy. (best to find one just a little better than yourself) Make sections while riding, and eventually you will just come by most obstacles naturally without any thought to it. I would say that you are causing too much pressure. Trials is just fun. You against yourself. You are not going to make a living at it and no one should care about your score either! Of course it would be nice to do well every so often, but trials takes weeks and years of growing your skills.
  21. There is a top off bolt or screw top left of radiator. Remove bolt top off until full. Replace and fill tank to lower mark.
  22. There is probably an alignment problem. Look at the top of where the spring bolts go. Is one of them marked? Either just a dot or a solid groove across. There might be a matching mark to align to on the clutch boss. The problem is the pieces are not symmetric. If nothing else move the plate one spring hole at a time to get it to `drop` into the alignment. If that is not it then you might have the washers wrong.
  23. By the way Cody smoked Pat today! And D. R. smoked the SR50 class in what must have been a tougher day!
