  1. Trials tyres will work well as i use them (pirelli mt43) on my husqvarna te610 for greenlaning etc, but if i was using a trials bike i would go up at least 2 or 3 teeth on the countershaft/gearbox sprocket which will drop the engine revs and it will be fine Dave
  2. You need to wrap a chain or a chain-wrench around the sprocket to hold it , flatten the tab washer and undo normally (turn to the left) Dave
  3. I have seen worse , if your stuck then use them with a very good gear oil Dave
  4. Correct sizes for a 1976 ty250 are top 25/43/11 and bottom 30/48/13 Dave
  5. They do have them and when they arrive i will measure the sizes cheers woody Dave
  6. Just looked them up and they only have them for ty80 and dont list ty250 Dave
  7. Cheers woody, i will look them up Dave
  8. Hi, anyone know the size of tapered bearings for a 1976/77 ty250 as my old cup races are getting a bit tired, cheers Dave
  9. Dont re-stamp the number as it may turn out a disaster just take the log book or old MOT cert Dave
  10. Either weld a bit of steel across or weld a bead of weld around the inner part of the case and it will shrink when it cools leaving it a bit looser. I used to remove norton valve seats that way Dave
  11. TY mono's are a nice mild ride and ultra reliable with a very strong 6 speed gearbox and air cooled with spares available Dave
  12. Demand your money back, you have a contract with the seller not the importer and they have a duty to sell goods fit for the purpose and those boots a'int. Dont get fobbed off as the shop will get their purchase price (not retail price ) back from the supplier . You have the law %100 on your side and if you bought on your credit card you could claim back from them Dave
  13. Could be a crank seal and have you checked that the crank drain screw is still present Dave
  14. Its running weak and be careful you dont hole a piston, go up on pilot and needle Dave
  15. C3 bearings have a larger space between the balls for heat expansion to stop seizing Dave

    74 Ty250 Seals

Sorry i forgot to log the numbers but measure the id of the seal or od of the crank then size of outer then thickness (these are usually on the seal in this order in mm ) use a good vernier caliper and the two seals are different. Perhaps someone here could have the sizes written down Dave
  17. Sounds more like a new smallend bearing is required rather then a re-bore and if it is piston slap you 'WILL BE' aware of it as it sounds rather nasty on a big 2smoker. I use ATF in my Malcolm Rathmell 348 and ep90 in the box , they are a lot better then just a wheelie machine and my one will pull the wheel by just opening the throttle if required Dave

    Chain

I have just fitted a tsubakis on my ts ty250 and it seems of good quality Dave
  21. Start it up and check with a meter for ac volts but i cannot see what is wrong with a battery one as long as its loud enough Dave
  22. Nothing to worry about ,just get it nice and hot and with fresh fuel+fully synthetic oil mix (50 to 1 )and it will stop smoking unless you still have the autolube connected. You cannot burn the gearbox oil unless your R/H crankcase seal is leaking Dave
  23. Shouldn't it be 'get a life' ? not alife and do you have proof 'her maj' doesn't read this? Dave
  24. Ebay adverts are a great source of amusement and it help you descide whether to buy on not, there are too many adds with dodgy grammer as only two weeks ago i bought a nice ty 250 because it was described correctly (all the two's without the guardian!!) Dave
