  1. credit where credit is due........ Ringo, nice piece of investigative journalism there mate! I was quick to realize I would never be able to have a constructive conversation with someone who cant see past his own agenda or ideas. But it does bring up the point that he believes we all have the right to say what we want(except us Canucks, because we dont enjoy the freedoms you do) unless it somehow offends him. OH well. Secondly, just back from a nice Christmas holiday to see the Iceman lied, and in fact, that post I read of his a while back that said, this will be my last post, was not!!! have fun with whatever.
  2. Hmmm, does anyone know then if it is an option to slip a 240 top end straight on then, Lee can you help!
  3. I have enjoyed all of Marks comments, especially the ones he has PMed to me!!! But Ihave to say that he is just a genuine guy who always trys to help out whoever he can on here, which is a nice change sometimes!! Yours truly included. Thanks bud! One of these days I will get back to Texas riding with my son and Ill bring some real beer to share with you! steve
  4. Tell me about it Glenn!!! its another reason its taken me so long to look at it, just didnt have the heart to know what happened. Well I got the cylinder off Ok now. Lots of hunks of metal, and a couple of nasty grooves in the piston. The rings are intact, both wristpins are too, so far havent figured out where the metal is from. I cant say for sure but the crank seems like it might be OK. I remember when it let go I had just gone up a large rock step and the motor was idling down. Keep my fingers crossed anyway. More to report tommorrow! STeve

    300 Fantic

Just looking for suggestions here. My immaculate 300 fantic is in trouble. I seized the engine last summer(I know thats along time ago but I have kids and am busy) in an event and I have just now gotten around to looking at it! Bits of metal on top of the piston when I removed the head, and the piston is jammed stuck in the cylinder. What is the best way to get it unstuck and get the cylinder off. Cheers, Steve
  6. YOu couldnt be living any farther away from muddy conditons now eh Tony!!! If you ever feel like a fix for mud you are always welcome up here OK!!! Please say hi to Todd Roper when riding any CAT events for me OK. cheers, Steve

Clive: Nothing personal to you Clive. YOu must have the Kevorka, like Kramer did on Seinfeld. Makes him irresistable to ALL women. YOu should try wearing a necklace of garlic cloves and small onions. This should help with your problem! Steve

    I'm Back

Lets just refresh what we now know about Icegirl shall we! First, he, is in fact a she, and is either a stalker, or is smitten with one No Jive. Second, she must be quite young, or not too bright, or both! As well as not being able to spell, has created a whole new country!!!!! Candia! I would be willing to bet too, that if she moves to Candia, she could very well be THE first female National champ of Candia

Dont worry Clive, at least your not being accused of being Candian!

    Fantic 403

Lee, can you PM me or email me as I am looking for some bits and wondered what you have and if you have anything for sale!

    Fantic 403

I see you are in TX so I can tell you exactly what you have there. It is what was known as 300 kit bike. I used to be sponsored by TMI the old Fantic importer. Well Fantic sent a couple hundred of the 300 model twinshock bikes to the US in late 85 even though they were not ordered. The importer was very ingenius and knew he would not be able to sell all of them as the mono had just come out too. So, he order frames, tanks etc, all the goodies to convert your 300 twinshock to a 301 mono. Only difference was that it still had the drum front brake!!! Hope this helps! Cheers, Steve
  14. No,no no, Taff. I think you misunderstood..... Not asking if you hang out at your local..... If you lived local!!!
  15. Thanks for that info too Chris! I suspected that the newer Shercos were a tad noisier after watching some U-tube vids of Jarvis in the UK and it seemed louder. never sure if his bike is totally stock though so just wondered. I think the Sherco is the best of the 4Ts so far for me anyway, I love it. If I could tell the factory one thing it would be the same, 6 speeds please! There is no substitute in the slime for that motor!!! steve Chris, if you email me I can send a vid that someone took of me after one of our trials the other weekend playing around in the slime!
  16. Chris, thanks for all the updates and reviews on your 07 3.2. I love my 05 with all the updates. One thing you have not mentioned though which I believe is an important issue is the noise factor. My 05 is dead quiet, I love it that way. I find the MOnts way too noisy. I have not seen a Beta yet but I hear they are quiet too. The Scorpa is also not noisy. I wish I could try a newer version of the Sherco at some point. My ONLY negative on the whole bike, is the 5 speed trans! Its not a problem for sections, but we do a ton of free riding here and it is a pain in but. The trans itself works beautifully, just missing a gear. I am holding on now for the GG 4t as it seems to have ALL the right stuff coming. EFI, 300+cc, lightweight, 6 speed trans, and looks very nice!!
  17. Mark: Yes it is the Raga version of the 125. Seeing as Adam rides a 300 I guess its hard to call the 125 the Raga model!!
  18. Yes, Bernie married Gilles Burgats sister Yannick and they live in South of France somewhere. I spent a fair bit of time with Bernie in 1987 in the states as we were team mates at Fantic USA. He had come over to ride the Nationals and put on his trials schools all across North America. I was lucky enough to get to know him quite well over that time. I remember seeing a picture of him sometime ago riding a downhill mountainbike that was made from a TYZ frame and suspension. cheers, Steve
  19. Chris: He has had two trials now on the GG125 (race model) so far and the transition has been seemless. He is riding better already on the new bike and says he cant feel any difference in the weight. Beautiful little motor!!! Once we get his actual 08 model I can go through it and make some mods to suspension that will better suit his 85lbs weight! Steve
  20. Ridge: Just throwing my 2cents into the ring! I would take a look at the 4t Sherco too as Cope says. I haven

Nice to hear from you again Ring-ding!!! Never thought Id say that. One thousand American dollars.......... thats about 1050 Cdn dollars right now!!!! waited too many years to say that too! Where have you been man your brutha up north, Steve
  22. I like it! Craiger = Kegger...............me thinks a new nickname!
  23. Hey Copey: My son is 11 and has been doing secret test rides on a GG125 Racing model for a couple weeks now. He is very light and the little GG has plenty of torque for him and he is actually riding sections as good or better than his Beta 80 in that short time. I can even ride the 125 in pretty much everything, just have to make sure its wound up for anything big! He says also that there is no noticeable difference in weight from his little 80 which was superb!
  24. Good on you Kinell! I sat my son down this morning and had him watch the video that Andy posted. I explained what it meant to the guy who wrote the song and what it means to me! Remembrance Day is taken very seriously in both my kids schools. They make a huge deal out of it and have the whole school attend a large assembly. Both my grandparents fought in WWII in Europe. One with the Canadian Army and one with the British Army. My grandfather on me mums side was actually a motorcycle messenger! Must be in the genes eh! By a twist of fate, he narrowly escaped death one day when their base was shelled by the Germans while most of the men were leaving the mess hall. My grandad was injured by shrapnel in both his hip and his head. His mate who had left the mess hall minutes before him, was not so fortunate..........he never made it. I can remember that story from him like it was yesterday and how vivid it was to me as a lad! After watching the video today it, I am going to do something similar to Kinell and actually attend our local ceremony at our Cenetaph on Sun with the kids............hoping I can instill in them the memories that I have and will never forget, about young men who layed down there lives and enabled US to live the life we enjoy today! Cheers Andy! steve
