The all but forgotten Sherco 4T is also very quiet. Although I am told that perhaps the new 08 has a bit more of a bark to it! My 05 is dead quiet and has way more power out of the box than both the Mont or the Scorpa. I agree with the fact it does not make sense to me anyway, to spend a good buck on a 4t and then have to spend another good sum to make it an experts bike. Hop blip and jump, if you send me a PM with your email address, I can send you a video a mate took of me on my 4T a few weeks ago riding some rocks and you will see how quiet it is.

It is claimed to rev to 10,500 rpm so I dont think that is an issue now. Does anyone know if they have stuck with the 6speed transmission. I beleive if they have, this will also be a leg up on the competition as I personally love a 6speed.

I have an 08 GG Pro Race model on order for my son from our new GG importer who is gonna help us out for next year. It will be here this month. I would also love to try one of the GG 4Ts but in the meantime, enjoying my Sherco 4T
-
Hey Clive, that new GG is no SMW and you aint Hernia Tryharder
-
Not to worry Kinell, by 09 your Beta 4T will have only had a couple more rides on it, and it wont have depreciated too much! You can then get a good buck for it when you buy the new GG!

Aye mate, we are bi-lingual up here dont you know, and we are so confused about the metric system, we only use it to confuse ourselves!
Oh, and thanks in advance mark!!!!
-
I think the basis we have for the problem you have Don, is that you do not know the difference between a personal attack, and taking the p*** out of someone!!!!! Problem solved!
-
Man..............where the heck are you from Don..............oh yeah Malibu!!!! Sure glad my Canadian brothers are glad to always help you out in a time of need whether it be water shortages, power shortages, and fighting wildfires!!!! Thanks eh!

Not about childeren, but, you brought up the point that on a forum at least, you feel anyone can say what they want without having to back it up. We are all entitled to our opinions, but, if I, you or anyone makes a personal attack on someone, they need to step up to the plate. We can have our opinion, you and I different on many things, Lane too. But I don t think it right to attack someone and then act like nothing happened. Do you. I only brought up the children point because as parents we are the best example our kids have. I would hate to think that my son thought he could say and do what he wants in life without consequences. Its obvious that some folks on here like controversy as a form of entertainment, that is their right. But no one has the right to make personal attacks on people whether it be on here or anywhere.

Malibu Don, do you have kids or not. If not, it might change how you feel about saying that someone doesn

Malibu:
Lane thrived with the TC forum as his own platform for his opinions. Some of his opinions has some great ideas as I said before. So, can you please tell me what goal this acheived. I wish many times that he had pursued some of his good ideas rather than coax others to do so. There is no doubt that with his achievements in trials in the USA he commands some respect, as well as how well he has done with his business. But, if you look at all the other past National champs, and compare how much they have given back to the sport, in relation to how much they have given there opinon, Lane is not very high on the list.
It is true that most do not give their opinion at all, but those who do have stepped up to the plate big time. Ryan Young is foremost in my mind. I can t think of anyone who has given more back to the sport in so many ways than Ryan. Yes, he is now a business man, but, his commitment to the youth program in the US at the early stages and now, are unequalled. Lane has some good ideas but has never personally followed through on them! Sorry, but it you cant, then dont talk the talk! I defy you to prove me wrong on that one! I am sure that there are at least 5-1 people who can back me up with the fact that when Lane attacked someone and was pushed to back up his statements, he was never heard from.
It is true that the forum on the US trials is slow since Lane is not around, so what. What does that prove other than he p****d alot of people off! I don t think that really does anyone any good do you. I hope he is well, and I still hope that I get to sit down with him one day and talk about trials and how we both feel, perhaps at the Youth Nationals in 08!

Lane has some great ideas, but NEVER backed them up other than to say this is how it should be done. He has my respect in many ways, but, you can spout off for so long, but in the end, you have to back it up at some point. He never did on here! bottom line. This website will thrive with or without him, so I would guess that he is the big loser here!

Personally I have always found Shirtys comments like a breath of fresh air!!! I think in general he say it like it is! If there were more importers and dealers like that we would all be better off. I always look forward to his post event columns and will continue to enjoy them.......Oh and I don t even ride a GG, go figure! Thanks for keeping his columns front page too Andy!

Andys reply I would imagine......................................

I would make a list of things that are important to YOU in making your choice. For me it was easy. I went for the Sherco for all the above reasons. Power, lightweight, quiet!!!!!! Also important are, dealer in your area, support from dealer and importer. I know the importer in UK is good and sure there is a good dealer too! I have one of the dreaded 05 s with all the update kits. It is brilliant to say the least!!!

I prefer Baldilocks suggestion!!!!

Ish:
I disagree. They used to show each rider's score within the team score back in the day. If for one find it interesting to see how each individual did within the team. I was wondering the same thing as Titanium and sorry that those scores are no longer showed.

Cam chain adjustment is automatic, but, in some of the earlier ones, the spring broke in the adjuster causing it not to work automatically.YOu will have to remove to check it.

I have not seen one of the new cadets in action. They look good though. My son went from a Rev50 to a Rev80 which is an absolutely brilliant little bike. I believe it is the cream of the crop of all the 80's. It is not much bigger or heavier than the 50 but has the best motor. Very torquey!
