  1. Good god, the only thing worse than a Leafs fan, is a Habs fan! I can excuse a Scotsman living far away from here to be not too bright when it comes to choosing a favorite team, but as for the rest of you .Any way we shall see tonight as the Canucks take on those lowly Habs who are doing OK this year! By the way floored, there is also a famous artist living on your island by the name of Bob Masse. He is also an avid trials rider who is often on this board, going by the handle of Masso. He has done some cool work over the years, most notibly posters for many big rock bands, the Stones, Bob Dylan etc. He has a website, I will have to remember the address. Steve
  2. Hi there Floored: Which Island are you from??? I am on the big island here in Shawnigan Lake. We have a club here, the ISTC. Island Sports Trials Club. I am the current President. We currently have a big contingent from Saltspring who ride all our club events over here. I would gladly help you out with any questions you have about the sport, or riding techniques! You can get my email address off here as well! Cheers, Steve

    Big Bore Kit

Masso: With the money you have already spent on that 4RT and the coin you are proposing to spend to get some power out of it, you could have bought a 2stroke that has way more than you need out of the box............and had enough left over to be able to afford to ride it all over the country!!!!! And.....dude, you already said your bike was the cat's meow anyway!!! what's up with more power?? cheers, Steve
  4. Guys: Outlaw Accessories in Canada makes the best bumbag available period!!! Even Dougie and Mart have used them! Check it out at the website that Taff provided! Cheers, Steve

    1983

I will add my name to the list of people who rode in 92 then.My first and only year. If I remember correctly, according to the rules half the enty should have been excluded on the first day due to time violations. A "special" allowance was made to ensure this didn't happen. I think Robert Crawford was among those who would have been DNFed the first day. I was told it was an unusually wet year!!!!!!!!!!!!! cheers, Steve
  6. Just read Steveo's post, and for the life of me can't remember what the topic of this thread is now........... Damn getting old is a bugger!............. Just saw this new smilie too............ Oh and it should read right before it .......that I am NOT
  7. Happy to see that the Beta board is so full of comments on the new 4T that it has now spilled over to the GG board!!!! :agree: Yeah, the new Beta is the bee's knee's.

    175 F

Thanks for that Austini@!!! I test rode he little 125 that Ishy had a couple years ago and thought that if Scorpa could somehow get the price lower, it would surely enable a whole new group of newcomers to enter the sport. I am going to try an get a ride on a 175 soon. If it has enough poop as you say, it would be a fun bike for sure! Thanks for all your tips. Keep you posted Steve

    Beta 4-stroke

I would only counter with Atom that if you check the history of Beta as a company over the years, it would not seem the case with them. 4yrs of development without the general public knowing is a good indicator!

    Repsol's

weight has not really been an issue at all for me, but the power for sure. I have spent the most time on a Mont, and for me there is no way I could feel comfortable in expert sections on it, especially big steps or hillclimbs. I have spent limited time on the Sherco, but I fell it is better in the power department for sure. Just curiosity though. No one where I live has really got anything other than the Monts, and no one has really tricked them out at all. I guess my biggest beef is, the price. I would like to try one, but I can't justify spending more money on a bike that still doesn't work as good as a two stroke. Cheers, Steve PS Your Repsol does look very nice indeed

    Repsol's

Sirhc: Thanks for the candid response! I am not a fan of the five speeds at all. That said, can't wait to try a Beta4T, even though it has one too. Is the Mont you have noisy??? I love the idea of a 4T because I really think it will suit my riding style, but haven't ridden one YET, that I like as much as any 2stroke. Cheers, Steve

    Repsol's

How do you like it compared to your old Beta???

    1983

Andy, glad you found the year Bernie won, as I knew that he did, just couldn't remember what year! Just for the record, he said he never really enjoyed it because of the weather, not the trial itself. I believe he rode because the SWM factory like most other's in that day, made it compulsory for there rider's to compete in it! I still see that the factories use it for a testing ground to see if there new models will hold up!
  17. Glenn: this DVD should come with a warning, wear a kidney belt to prevent cramping and internal injury from excessive laughter!
  18. Folks, this DVD is a classic, and a must have as it is a small piece of trials history!! A real collectors item, I will be sending off my money to Clive as it has been years since I have seen this movie! Oh, and I am sworn to secrecy about the true identity's of the ah, um, stuntmen, yah that's what they are! Thanks Clive for making this available again! Cheers, Steve

    Beta 4-stroke

Can anyone tell me if Beta has broken the normal practise with the other 4T's and stayed with the 6 speed transmission???
  20. Lee: If that indoor tank will fit a 96 Section, I would be interested in buying it! Steve
  21. Right then Bo Drinker, you inspired me to post finally after reading all these techy guys! I'm a journeyman carpenter(joiner in the UK). good timing it seems too, as there is a major shortage of skilled labour in this country right now and tradesman can almost name there own price. I served my apprenticeship and worked for the same company for 15 yrs in Vancouver building high end custom homes($1million- 20million mansions) I moved back to my home of Vancouver Island. I am now in my 5th yr of being self employed with my own company. I specialize in the finishing aspects of the building trade. Mostly stairs, custom handrail systems, mantels and all interior finishing. In the middle of a building boom where I live, business is good Steve
  22. Ron; Thanks for your efforts and everyone at the NATC for supporting it too! It was something that needed to be there! Steve
  23. Heath: I know Outlaw dave has been trying to get a hold of these guys for a while with not success. Do you have a contact he can use. I can get it through him then. What does the POA mean listed by the 300 muffler? Steve
