  1. I jus do not understand all this. The friggin thind is basically a Sherco motor, or a near direct copy. I do not understand just how they do this in the first place, but even if one copied it, how do you screw it up that bad in the process? Even if one reverse engineers something, the basics are there in front of you, now go screw it up?
  2. Either you forgot a comma, or you are in the group next to last! Ha! Sorry! I just had to do that! Obviously, they don'y use the male horses about the kids!
  3. Possibly the area. If you did anythin like that riding, you might pull a hemi or a gut!

    Mod or Change?

Yea, you said you were light, I am not heavy, yet slightly more than the bike, but it seems to me that manipulating a heavier bike over the course of a trial will cost you some in the lost energy and fatigue factor. Yet at the same time, other than the Montesa's being a bit lumpy, the differences in the last decade have been rather negledgable as compared to most bikes from the 90's and such, which were maybe another 10 kilo's greater in girth, and had lesser suspension, yet did amazing things with normal riders. We are spoiled!

    Building Ossa's

Not sure if this has been posted up here, as I ain't seen it, but seems Sergio has mave it over to the factory and got some nice pic's and some videro up on his site. I was goin to comment on a few the pics, but I see he has them coptrighted and such, and you just need to see them all anyways. I see a lot of really cool stuff there. Seems they are doing a top job on things. The design is radical by most standards, but at the same time, I likee a lot of things about it, and as an old Ossa fan, well, It does make one a bit proud that they are doing it! If nothing else,it is just friggin cool! Ck this out!
  6. Na, you are onlt talking 10 or 20mm here. The standard recco is get your bars up to verticle or beyond as looking down on them with you onit. Levers down just a bit from level, but not down. Lets you stretch out a bit and room to move on the thing. Weight on legs! Feet to steer first, bars follow the lean, practice!
  7. All that said, I think Wayne needs to go out and spend some dosh on one them H2 systems for to increase the mileage on his car! I have seen one or two installed, with respective blokes trying to sell them. Look really good! If these things do generate any H2 out of water, witheir bottles and electrodes, I figure they probably consume more electrical energy than they produce in mechanical energy as I think I seen somewhere that in regular commercial H2 generation, the process was only something like 40% efficient.
  8. JeeZe, where do you find this music?
  9. I would go for one like that.

Ignition timing may be set back a bit by previous owner as well?

    Mod or Change?

New ones are lighter by a kilo! big deal, not!
  12. Note as attached to above, same principals apply to Kerosene, yet at some point one also gets into the the freezepoints and flowpoints of the fuels in a sub zero environment I would think. The more I think about this, it raises the question of weather H2 requires a warmup after a cold soak in a lunar orbit and prior to a return burst? I have not researched this at all. Just throwing it out as food for thought. What is the temp of space?

    TR 280

I can surely tell you that internet forums are not always the best place to recieve accurate information from folks that have a clue. Some posting are just idiots without a clue, yet on the other hand, those in the know shall many times reserve comment or reccomendations. What you find in the end may be difficult to sort, an in a manufacturer taking it all in. At times,I think there are some that just want to nit-pick soo much, they just need to get a life!
  14. Good you got'er up and running! Na, you gotta the cover. There is a good guide in the tech tips pinned above with pics for pump seals.. Mind you, the case vent tube really needs to run up and held over the carb, then back down to skidplate level as so shock cooling from water crossings hopefully does not cause water to be sucked back up and into the gearbox. All said, still no submarine! Fluid changes apply under these conditions.

There is really nothing wrong with a bike of that vintage if well kept. And seldome anything a few quid won't fix. Still very competitive at any level. My '03 290 was wicked quick, and I had a bit of work taming it, but was a good bike. And I could easily ride one today. The newer ones of say the '08 vintage are a bit smoother, have a bit of better geometry and forks and quicker rear suspension, but not to discount the older bike. If I had one still and loved it, I would probably update the rear suspension with an Ohlins shocker and I think the '04 delta link was different. Be sure the rest if the linkage and steering bearngs are perfect along with all the rest of it and you are set. If the bike is just too far gone, it ain't worth the time and money, as you will spend as much putting a pig's ass into a silk purse!
  16. None them look quite right to me. I you want higher bars, the Renthal's or others in 5.5 or 6 I would think. There is a spec chart(or was) on the renthal site, but as I recall, the actual difference in rise between a 5.0,5.5 and 6.0 is 10mm each, for a difference of 20mm between a 5.0 and 6.0. I have a beautiful new set(as spare) of Blue Renthal 5.5's,HRC specials that I canna longer use cause of the newer fatbar bike, that need a good home for less than my cost. Pity is the box to uk is cost prohibitive, but if any on this side want them they would be a good bargain.
  17. I was searching for something about the weight and energy density of H2. This gives some idea. Myth 4
  18. So it keeps the heavy end down and the thing pointed up, twit! Hydrogen has a negative weight don't you know! This is not a Lawn Dart!
  19. There you go PA! Plumbers Nightmare! WTF? Onceagain amazed by the tech of the day
  20. Aye, you guys missed the free Margs at the last WTC here. Best I figure, FL is the worlds largest sandbar! I cannot recall the year I was at KSC, I get it a bit confused with Houston, but I think it was then, they still had the Saturn V on its side in the rocket garden, and were talking about the refurb and cleanup to put it in a new shed, as it was getting a bit delapidated. I would still suggest first part of April for the aviation Geeks, as Sun-N-Fun fly in is going on with an airshow every day of the week and more planes, new and old than you can finger. Kermit Weeks museum of flight, Orlando, then the East coast wihh Kennedy. One could spend well over a week, but all within a few hours drive. The drive back West is boring, with the museum at Pennsacola, and the Battleship, Sub, and Aviation museum in Mobile Al. making a bad drive better. If you make it to Nwe Orleans, just get on a plane there, as your hangover will not allow you to drive further!!!!
  21. Glen, I doo recall you saying something about the #300 sometime back. Have you had any problem with downhill fuel surge with it? Seems the #250 was standard on my '07 gravity feed bike, I never had problems, but don't do road trials either. I am still trying to get my hear around all this, as being pressure fed nor with the pump, and supposedly an inline damping orface to prevent overpowering the float valve, it gets a bit thick. The fellow I was chatting with may have got his numbers crossed on the valve, yet did mention the Kiehin did not seem to have a problem handling all this, and thus ,I presume same would apply to OKO. Reasons for the Kiehin on Cabby bike and Wigg as well as I understand, as all this may well directly relate to the RED carbs as such.
  22. Actually, is seems to me that most 125's are just fun to ride. They don't have the big torque of the larger bikes, but on the other hand they are gentile and will go most anywhere if you rev them. It seems the Beta and Sherco have a bit more pull off the bottom than the Gassers for the most part. Yet the Gasser seems to win on the top end. Good fun them things! Some prefer them to a larger bike.
  23. Well, aside from the flex and stuff, would you not think that the thrust force is physically transmitted to the structure directly through the nozzles and gimbals? Now that sorta means they would need to be able to support the weight of the vehicle, plus quite a bit to accellerate it. Although the weight is not applied to them directly, the load must be? This seem to be a bit like standing on a beer can! Am I wrong here or what? At least it is probably a titanium ally beer can.
  24. Best Engine in the World!!! The best engine in the world is the Vaginar! It can be started with one finger. It is self-lubricating. It takes any size piston. And it changes it's own oil every four weeks! Pity, the management system is soo temperamental!
  25. Define "bit of welly"! Of course, ck your tank vent as stated, yet my current understanding is something along the lines of "The bike will ot run road trials or long extended uphill pulls without increasing the size of the float jet"(needle and seat)to allow more fuel in vs the stock configuration which is fine for (other than listed). I am not sure the magic number on this, I heard #250 and higher I think. Might message Splatshop Chris and get his take on it.
