  1. Your wrists click? Try using air tools man! You are old now! If some of these folks think one can even access many areas with torque wrench, I hate to inform them they are sadly mistaken.
  2. Oh no, are they going to take all his winnings? Tell them to prove it!
  3. Shock should be straight. There is no offset.
  4. Here for info! http://www.shercousa.com/?action=6 Splatshop does a great job on parts! None on the cheap! Usually a long straight screwdriver will knock the rad cap loose, then a long skinny funnel to fill, or a syringe? They will puke out any overage, so a bit of expansion room is best! Look in with a mirror if needed, should be just over the cores a bit as stated. Different coolants do not mix well, so other than topping off with distilled water, best to drain, flush , and start over with a good mix or the premixed stuff from the bike shop me thinks! And if age is unknown, just do it, as the stuff does loose its corrosion inhibitors over time. Takes a pint or so to refill, not much. Hope that helps, now go read, TA!

I may have beat him to it! When I heard what a fuel pump for a 4RT cost $600, I said no way! When was that? Near ten years ago I think! Good dose of EMP and none of this crap is going to run, anyway! Toss your cars and your Iphones, only ones on bikes will be the lucky blokes with an old Bultaco with points and a carby!

Well, if you have an electrical fan, what is the difference if you have an electrical pump? If one fails it will overheat anyway! Narrower engine with no pump hanging out to bash on a rock!
  7. Good so far then!!! Insure you hear a solid "clunk" of the slide hitting the stop screw when throttle released any time you go in there and disrupt things, before starting, as you may have displaced the cable in the end mounts! See how she goes and let us know!
  8. Put it back, disconnect kill switch, ck earth on CDI.
  9. Famous last words! What do you think a kill switch does?
  10. Not exactly sure the logic of the use of spherical, but I believe there are two grades of them, one better than the other. Contact Splatshop Chris as he has them for not too much dosh.
  11. I find this amazing! Wish I had thought of it! Where is Lane Leavitt! I need to pilfer some of his work! http://youtu.be/bPWVq6MwW4E
  12. Rears are usually fairly toutchey! Do as he said, get a bottle water, run up the gears and a 2-3 good hard stop tries usually heats them. Douse with water immidiatly. Repeat then let dry.
  13. Likely a 250 init. There was a change on the "10 I think due to the pump fed system flows different I suppose. Seems too much inrush of fuel when the thing opens is not desirable as it makes the level less stable which effects mixture.
  14. Prolly standard AJP, and available, call your local dealer he likely has them, or Splatshop.
  15. Likely the things are at incorrect levels if they move smoothly otherwise. Levels are 110mm left and 60mm right with left spring removed, forks compressed. I think, hope that helps!
  16. The stock shocks on "06 were kinda crap, so this one is likely something that has been repaired. I might guess an Ohlins top! Yes, seems many parts interchange! You may send the pic to splatshop Chris and he may know more, yet as long as it works you are prolly ok for now!
  17. Yea, well it all varies a bit with the bike and carb but sounds close enough. I generally suggest 35-36 range on the pilot and 118-120 on the main. I think you can move the slide needle clip up one notch to lower it a bit. Mix screw will likely take 3 turns out give or take on the day still. FWIW, Cheers

Back in the old day, we had a local go-cart track operator that had a little mx style dirt track next door to rent those little XR's for $10 or so per hour. All it took was 3-4 of us MX junkies and a case of beer to have a fun nite out bashing and thrashing each other ! I bought one later as a pit bike around "80, but my apartment manager got p****d at me for doing wheelies around the grounds and keeping it inside the stairwell. This made me hide it in the girls flat downstairs, so we got to know each other real well, ha! I was obligated to visit often!
  19. How do you do going UP the same drop? Going down is easier to me, it was the getting back up that took me a bit?
  20. Does the pic resemble the cover of a Jethro Tull album?
  21. Even with boots on I have had the sharp edged pegs(HEBO) come up and grab me in that area! Looked like yours combined with a Sharkbite! Needless to say I no longer run pegs with sharp teeth on the ends, them flat ones with little grub screws work well!
  22. Not sure if it helps you, but I use a handheld GPS for ref on speedo calibrations on cars. Most widgets like that are based upon revs per mile so one is able to tune accordingly based upon your percentage of error calculations from the GPS. Take readings at 20, 30,40 mph indicated and compare to actual on GPS which is quite accurate.
  23. I remember back to when I was soo poor that 30W motor oil was better than nothing!
