Im not sure on the legitimacy of THIS ARTICLE but its a step in the right direction if true.

Sorry I cant compare to a Rev but I have a Evo 290 and in comparison to a Sherco 290 its very tame. The motor has plenty of grunt but its very smooth. The only thing I am going to do to the bike it a little clutch work....other than that I am very,very happy.

Well this is interesting....I just finished taking apart the steering stem and there was very little grease in there.

I just finished with the rear suspension. There was a fair amount of grease in there, even on the swingarm. FWIW my bike came in on the last shipment to the US. I did not get into the steering stem yet. I did notice the clutch cover bolts were all loose and the gasket was weeping. Also the CDI was loose.

I'll take 'em apart and let you know....probably a day or 2.

There must have been some good feedback from dealers to Beta on the 1st delivery of bikes because I just got mine and it was literally dripping grease.

But I still felt that he was distracted, and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep - I cried. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster . HIS DIARY: The bike wouldn't start today, but at least I got laid.

A friend of mine got his....here is his early impressions. Looks better in person. I'm not worried about damage to the radiator filler, exhaust or electronics. Engine is substantially stronger (290 cc) and much quicker down low compared to my 270 Rev3. Within 1.5 hours on the bike my rollups, zaps and splatters were better due to the quicker, more powerful engine. The gearbox shifting is substantially improved, i.e., easy click gear to gear including finding neutral. The throttle pull is substantially easier than the Mikuni that should reduce forearm fatigue. Beta has simplified working on the bike. Fewer bolts, easier access. Same high quality compoments...right down to the nuts and bolts. Suspension is much quicker and the whole bike is springier. Will help with complex techniques like flip turns and zaps. Adapting to the bike is easy compared to adapting to a Rev3. Vast majority of the bike has new/revised/improved parts. Skidpan is thicker/stronger and a welcomed improvement. Front fender has an integrated plastic fork brace. I believe the rear fender can be zip-tied on to lesson the probability of breakage....but I still need to look closer to be sure. Very happy I bought it.

I am not sure if that was the intent for that hole but you can use that mount hole. We tried it and didint notice much of a difference, though I am sure you can prove me wrong mathematically. I was looking for a change in ride height because my son is small and at the time only 3. If your looking to lower the bike you can use a 12.5 shock. The best combo we found for him was a 16 shock with the 400# spring.

I have some pics on Photobucket but I cant get them to post up. Heres the PB link. Kids are starting to ride at such a young age nowadays, mine started on his 3rd birthday. At a young 4 years old he already has a year of competing under his belt. A big part of this is due to the advent of the OSET. He would not have been able to learn as well on a bike like a PW50. I cant imagine what these kids will be doing on a bke in 10-15 years. Trials(and other forms for that matter) will be at a whole new level.

IMO one of your best options is a DH bicycle helmet mabe by Bell called Bellistic. Its very light and offers great protection. It also allows for good visability. My son has used hsi for 2 years. http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/pro.../bellistic-9793

How long have you been riding trials? Hopping is tough...dont look at pros like Ryan and expect to be doing that. You would be much better served working on very basic techniques like turning,clutching and body positioning. Im not saying dont hop....but it shouldnt be a focus. Anyways....I think hopping may be a little easier on a new bike but if you have the technique you should have no problem. Merry Christmas to you also....
