You should go via WH Smith on your way to Asda and get yourself a dictionary!

You can take the p*ss................ but you can never take their freedom.

Don't worry, you will soon forget about that when your chain starts rubbing on the rear brake pedal.

If it was her son, she'd have been his mother.
What were you doing in our house anyway?

I asked my local MP if he thought this country was on a slippery slope? After consulting with his spin doctor he said "No it's a ramp for the disabled"
I think that's what you're getting confused with.

I heard Snoop Dog and Denzil Washington had been approached by Peter Jackson to play Wing Commander Gibson in order to smooth the waters re the PC hot potato, Snoop declined as he was not allowed to Pimp his Lancaster and preferred to hang with his Hos and Denzil (Training Day, The Negotiater) was already contracted to play Douglas Bader in the remake of Reach for the Sky. Heather Mills McCartney is working in an advisory role.

'Ba Ba ETHNIC sheep, have you any wool?'
The way I see it is that the Politically Correct Nazis are the vocal minority and the silent majority (that's the rest of us) have allowed them to impose their rubbish on us. We politely tolerate this nonsense whilst secretly thinking "What the **** next?"
As the Woodmeister suggests, it's about time the silent majority said ENOUGH to the organic lentil bake munchers and COMMON SENSE prevailed.
Show me the black person who has been offended by the Baa Baa Black (Rainbow?) Sheep rhyme or by a black board being called 'a black board'. It's black and it's a board for chrysake. It's not made of chalk after all. All these things are dreamt up by the lentil elite who think someone, may be offended by it. Helloooooooooooo, no-one is offended.
What next? Paint the White Cliffs of Dover a different colour in case it offends any immigrants trying to get into the country, puleeeze.
So next time you hear of this nonsense make a stand or it will only become worse. Or you can be a sheep and do nothing.

Yes, as a person with a small amount of mathematical ability, it is clear to me that Health & Safety + Risk Assessment = Total b*****ks.
We managed alright for thousands of years with common sense until along came some idiots who having no real skills invented a load of old tosh to keep them in employment.
Would Colonel 'H' have stormed a machine gun nest above Goose Green to save his men and advance the battle if he had risk assessed the situation? No.
Would anyone in Bomber Command have flown numerous missions over the Third Reich? No
Would anyone have got into, let alone out of, a landing craft at the Normandy beaches? No
Should burglars get the living cr@p kicked out of them if you catch them in your house/garage? Yes
Should unruly hoody chavs get a slap? Yes
How did the arty farty liberal do gooders manage to turn things around without the rest of us noticing? And more to the point why do we allow it to continue?
Anyone for a revolution? It seems to be the common sense solution.

???Well, not the kind of feed back I was expecting, when you can tell us more about the 270, sans muf, please do.
-
That's what I am wondering, whether Beta have smoothed the beast from a snarling tarmac rippler to an all torque, stump pulling bike that will reverse the rotation of the Earth in fourth.
Try before you buy is obviously the way forward here but other folks comments are interesting when they have owned or tried both.
-
Can understand that. Always found it funny that nearly everyone buys the 290 Sherco over the 250 in Sherco World but over in Beta World, most go for the 250 over the 270, or so it seems.
So the question remains, is an 08 bigger Beta better?
-
R2w, after reading your report on how good the 250 is, can you quantify why after trying the 270 you have changed your order? Always heard that the 270 was a tarmac rippling beast for elite experts only. Would appreciate a quick summary of why you feel it is better as you have been lucky enough to have tried both. Ta

Billy, what's your input on the concept 2 rower without going into lots of latin/physiotherapy gobble de gook? Always found it a good all over warm-up device or at a more intense rate a good way of spending 30 mins when I used to use it for moto-x conditioning. I am aware that free weights are the way to go for concentrating on specific areas.

Near enough then, if I'd known other folk were going to have two guesses I'd have had 1962 as well. Ahem
Ask your Dad if the camera was bought in 1961

The info was in the instructions that came with the reeds. I found my bike went best with the needle set one notch leaner on standard jetting and running a BP5ES plug.
Nice plug colour at full throttle and at usual plodding.
PW what did you end up running?
-
The reed block is made up of reed petals attached to the block and the amount they can flex is limited by a rev plate. As with all things the engine will benefit from a fresh pair of petals from time to time, probably when the top end of the engine is done would be a good guide.
Boyesen do a set of dual stage reeds which run with a rev plate which is different to the standard Beta one. Also instead of one petal top and bottom the Boyesens have two top and bottom which open at different stages as their name suggests. They are easy to fit and retail at about

Tools Rules;
1. You will use 20% of your kit, 80% of the time and 80 % of your kit 20% of the time.
2. The day after you ditch an item that you never use, is the day you will need it most.
3. The number of 'spare' washers that you accumulate over time is directly proportional to the number of bikes you have stripped
down and rebuilt.
4. When dropping small items they will always ping a world record distance away from their initial impact point and hence outside
your initial search zone.
5. When small dropped items lodge themselves in the frame/engine area they will occupy a space smaller than their own physical
dimensions, usually resulting in dismantling of the offending area. This will occur after hours of unsuccesful jiggling with one of
those magnets attatched to an old car aerial and has a similar success rate to picking up a toy with a crane in a seaside
amusement arcade.
6. When tightening small items without a torque wrench, they are usually tightened enough and then juuuust a bit more to be on the
safe side. This final torque will usually just equal the shear value for that item
What rules have you discovered?

Unless you are an Indian Rubber Man or have very small girly hands, rad out of the way is the only way as far as I know. Dont need to take the engine out.
If it was my bike I would change the stator first then try it. If you then need to investigate further then do so. Changing one thing at a time is usually best way of isolating electrical faults. Take your time, plenty of cups of tea and think twice before removing anything. If you have a digital camera take some pictures to make sure things are replaced as they came out.
Hope this is of some help.

It's important to point out that no deer where hurt during the telling of this joke.
Fortunately the same cannot be said of the French.

How are the southern hemisphere reducing their carbon emissions?
The All Blacks are dropping off the Aussies on their way home...................................

See following posts for pre Bok bashing banter

Short length of electrical wire with connectors either end to by-pass thermostat on the rad, should the fan fail to come on.
Long cable tie just thicker than a brake disc, slip between the pads when refitting wheels to keep pads apart, once the disc is lined up and part way in, slide it out.

My mate has an 06 which he has owned since new and had a new stator a few months ago. Not sure how religeously he removed the cover and allowed it to dry inside. JLI exchanged it FOC.
Might be your CDI but since the stator is the pre 07 Beta's achilies heel I would put money on it being that. Also try kicking it over in the dark with the headstock plastic covers removed just in case it is shorting out elsewhere.
Good luck and keep us informed re the result.
...........and the push to the car park will be great for your cardio and endurance!
