  1. Just a reminder that we are holding round 1 of the Clubs 2010 Championship at Dudwood Farm near Elton Derbyshire on this Sunday 28th Feb start 11.00. Classes for British bike, Twinshocks and Air cooled monos along with three routes Expert, 50/50 and Clubmen so something for everybody. Also there will be a burger van in attendance along with a van selling parts and accessories for Classic and twinshock bikes. Finally there will be a presentation after the Trial at the Miners Standard pub of the awards for the competitors in the Clubs 2009/10 Championship. See you there
  2. Sorry guys having a senior moment. Just had a trawl through the search engine and eventually found Woodies response from last year when i had to wire another OSSA but i'd forgotten It's the big terminal on the coil. Thanks Woodie and sorry again everybody else.
  3. Got to get the MAR running for Sunday as i havent got a bike to ride, James is still a bit ill after my off at Bracken , so which terminal do i connect a kill switch to on the MAR coil? Dont want to damage anything. Thanks hopefully

    Ossa

I've got a Cheney framed Ossa but thats a twinshock. Nickel plated frame. Dont know about the monoshock ones if they were chromed or not. Either way it's a rare beast indeed but where would you ride it? or would you ride it? Aint a twinshock and not a competitive mono either. Still it's a bit of trials history if it's a genuine one but is it worth anywhere near the asking price? Then again i was gobsmacked at what that suzuki fetched recently so who knows.
  7. Nice one Mick i'd almost forgot about Mick Carey. Thought it was a Bond Bug? Didnt he used to ride a 125 Sachs big fin Saracen? Thing is what happened to the Orme BSA Bantam though?
  8. Thanks for that as i am sure the photos will give me a few ideas As you say funny how times change. See you at Dudwood.
  9. With the talk on the forum of the Drayton bantam and that McLaren Suzuki all invoked memories of Trials here in the East Midlands Centre all those years ago. I have fond memories of John Orme and his BSA Bantam which was oh so trick especially considering the year was 1970. Problem is with memories the pictures arent so good so i was wondering if anybody else remembered the man or the bike too? Also remember the bike had a sister. That bike was owned by an Alan Molyneux who like me also lived in Long Eaton at the time. Alan went on to ride speedway like another local Trials star and motor cycle shop owner Chris Pidcock. So back to the reason for the posting. I've aquired a BSA Bantam and was thinking of building a Trials Bike out of it and wondered if anybody had any photos of either the Orme BSA or Alans? Also whatever happened to either bike? It's strange how these and other bikes just dissapear. Bit like all those 125 Sprites. Wonder what happened to my old Goldfinger? but thats another story.
  10. So obstructing the public highway is "legitimate" is it? Sorry cant agree. Two abreast feeding into single file so as not to obstruct the free flow of traffic is "legitimate". Imagine the out cry if we ride two or three abreast blocking the road? Also isnt time trialing racing on the road by definition ? My insurance strictly forbids, as in will not pay out, that. I wonder what the cyclists insurance policy states???? Oh yes i forgot they dont have any do they. If one of them runs into your car, child, self etc etc you would have to take out a personal action against them. Nowt against cyclists, ramblers are another matter, but Larry Licra and his cronies belong on the track NOT the highway.
  11. Assume you mean me ? I'm 15 stone but i dont have a problem bottoming out with 40lbs springs with preload set to softest.
  12. Been using Betor std shocks for a while over here. Yes they can be improved but they work fine as is. I thought most Bultacos used 340mm shocks? Whatever main thing we find is make sure you use 40 lbs springs not 60 lbs springs but the damping is fine. They do seem more than a bit expensive though ! as they only cost around
  13. Second that he's done loads for me and very happy with his work.
  14. Changing forks will be a doddle compared to getting through the ballot. Anyway i thought they were having a downer on Bantams ? Why not just do what everybody else does and have some "fiddle" forks made. Probably cheaper in the long run and at least they work. Good luck with your project anyway
  15. Dont know any websites but a long long time ago when the world was in black and white and i was a sprog playing around on the old tip at Trent Lock Long Eaton i seem to remember one of the "Oakleys", a very well known trials riding family and probably the reason i got into the sport, Thomas had one. Seemed to be very capable i remember, then again i was very young had no idea of what trials were and rode a Greeves Scottish which i bought for
  16. Err yes thats mine Thats what happens when you are determined not to put your foot down when you really should
  17. Thanks for that Chris will give them a bell
  18. OK i've decided to restore the old Beta and am now looking for a complete set of decals graphics stickers whatever you call them as the ones on it are either missing or just plain white. Had an offer from the very nice man at Anglia Vinyl Art to make me some but as mine are US then a bit stuck. So does anybody know where i can get them from ?
  19. Dont really think this is the site to discuss bondage
  20. Oh bother and there was me polishing up the Beta
