I know the alloy takes a lot of work to keep it looking good, but i enjoy polishing !! I work in the car bodyshop trade so to put a clear coat on it would'nt be a problem. As for what i used ,i have a old electic motor with a mop on it and only use a white soup alloy polish ,but its all in the prep !! i have a DA sander backing pad in a normal electric drill and a 400 grade disc this sounds to fine but it will remove all scratches in seconds and will polish up real quick on the mop. Thanks for the compliment,I found the bike on e-bay it ran ok but that was about it,I managed to find a good contact that helped out with a lot of NOS parts inc :rear hub, chain guard, side panels, exhaust plus the internet is a very valuable tool the frame and lots of small partsi had coated .The engine was in great shape(never been apart before)but i changed all the bearings and kickstart shaft for a later one (have had two snap before) the forks had to be re-chromed and a lot of hrs polishing.I done all the work myself (apart from the powder coating) I am very pleased with the finished bike .
