  1. I doubted it too but I was told by a certain Charlie Preston who is Mr. aircooled twinshock husky in the UK.
  2. What kind of clutch does it have? I have never owned a Gasser before so I don't know. My twinshock Husky crosser does this and i thought there was something wrong with it but I was told that it is the aluminium clutch plates that cause it. It is aircooled.
  3. I have been a customer of Dave at Bultaco uk for almost 10 years and have never had any problems. He is very helpful and reliable. Maybe the problem is with the postage service?
  4. Are you considering entering the finished article as a twinshock with the modern forks and brake? Opinions will be split.Dummies will be spat etc. Good luck!
  5. The funeral service willbe held this saturday at the South Lanarkshire crematorium,Blantyre at 11:45am. All welcome.
  6. Sadly John Miller, father of Scottish classic trials rider Graham, died suddenly on saturday. John was out on his road bike when he felt unwell and pulled over.He had a massive heart attack at the roadside and, despite the efforts of a passing off-duty nurse could not be revived. John was well known in the Scottish trials scene and will be sadly missed.
  7. Finished my first season on sunday. Fantastic fun.I'm not so great on the bike(read, rubbished, lapped repeatedly etc) but who cares. I should have done it years ago. Try it,you will love it!
  8. Do you need an ignition flywheel? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:IT&ih=017
  9. I think there was 2 of these rode the pre-65 Scottish this year.
  10. Seen this on e-bay tonight.Anyone recognise the frame? Very neat looking alloy plate sub-frame. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...bayphotohosting
  11. The pre-65 arguement has been done to death. I think this is different. This is taking a bike from a different class altogether, bolting on 2 shocks, removing the mono and calling it a twinshock. What will be next, maybe a Scorpa sy175 with shocks bolted on and call it a twinshock?
  12. I'm just back from a great weekend at the Nostalgia. There was a converted mono ty Yam riding in the twinshock class. This is the first one I have seen. Are they common down south? I'm not one for total originality etc but surely this is a step too far?
  13. Super trial, well done to all involved. Easy route was just perfect for me,I lost too many marks but enjoyed the day. The weather was kind as well.A bit of queueing here and there but to be expected with such a large entry. Bottle of beer at the end was fine! The scramble was awesome next day as well, even though I fell off twice!
  14. I will see you there,I have an entry on my Bult.I am also scrambling the next day in the twinshock class on my old Husky.I will be the one at the back being lapped numerous times. As to the trial I last rode in 2005 and the sections on the easy route were fine, nothing too silly or scary.I think the trial has been tightened up a bit since then.Should be a good day out if the weather improves.Expect large queues as there is a full entry of 120 riders and it is not a huge piece of ground. Looking forward to it.
  15. On first impression the words cheap and nasty spring to mind. Maybe not, never tried one myself.
  16. I won't be there, sorry.I'm off to Ibiza on wednesday for 2 weeks. I'm not so fast myself on the scrambler.Good fun though.
  17. Hi Donald.Hope the thumb is better soon. You should have came down to Abington at the weekend there. We had a great trial. Even though the weather done its best to try and spoil it.
  18. What was it about section 2? I fell off my Bult in the same section on the first lap and hurt both my hands badly.I rode the first lap in agony then retired for the weekend. (I did observe on the sunday though)I only just returned to my work today after a week off. Good trial and a great run out on the hill,a bit too hard for my ability though, some tight turns etc. I'll be back next year for another go mind.

    Stator Price?

    Stator for my Techno was
  20. No,sold it many years ago. I'm a confirmed Bultaco fan now.
  21. I had one of these a few years ago.The kickstart shaft had snapped and I got it cheap. I then realised why it was cheap,I could not find one anywhere and it is a common problem I am told. It was a nice little bike, very light.
  22. Wasn't the last Bult made in '83? Oh i see now.Humour.ha ha.
  23. Are you having problems with the standard set up? I only ask as I am on my third Sherpa,a 1977 190 and it has a great spark with the standard points set up.I had a 92 and a 198b and once the low tension coil was re-wound on the 198 I never had any more trouble with it.The timing is easy enough to set up with the points,a bit of thin paper,a TDC gauge with a dial gauge attached. I'm not knocking the electronic systems, fit and forget, great.I suppose I like the satisfaction of setting an engine up myself and riding in a trial with no problems.
  24. I had a main bearing collapse on my 198 a few years ago.The bike was still running, sounded like a bag of spanners mind.Changed them myself, pretty easy to do. Don't be afraid to try,the gearbox all sits together in one crankcase half while you offer the other half to it when putting them back together.
