I use duck oil, spray and gently brush with an old tooth brush. Blow the crap away with compressor and repeat till clean and moving freely. (use WD40 if thats what Lampkins recommend)

Got to agree that it sounds like hydraulics, fluid passing back into reservoir.

Took the head off a Rotax engine which had been run 32:1 for decades, virtually no carbon build up !

Used this at the time and to me was exactly the same.

gear oil in the plug in the middle of the engine. atf in the outside casing (clutch) If you cant get a gasket, take the casing off, clean surfaces of old gasket/goo/oil, clean again. Use clear silicon (my preferance is sanitary silicon

If the air filter has not been oiled the bike will run lean.

How old is the brake fluid that your using ?

Got to agree with you, dont remember it being to heavy, 280 was the best engine. Had to run it a bit rich to get it to grip.

I'le bare that in mind the next time.

Quite a few posts on this if you do a search. Dont leave fuel in tank, always drain.

Might contribute to the problem, try a lighter weight oil.

Electronic is great, but good points etc is equally good.
