  1. Could be damp, but some electrics work when they are cold and break down when hot. It may also have been flooded and dried out, in which case not a problem that cant be fixed with carb adjustment / cleaning.
  2. Some Dellortos have an air screws as in carb shown, in which case the other hole is redundant and not relevant. If it has a petrol screw it would be in the left hand hole and the other one is redundant. The center screw is on both and is for adjusting the tick over. An air screw is out to weaken the mixture, a petrol screw is in to weaken mixture.

  5. FIO - twin cylinder 2 stroke rotax microlights in UK generally run at 50:1 and are so over cooled that 80% of radiator is covered in winter.

  7. Hi Deryk, I travel a relatively short distance (2-5 hrs) to the Pre 65, so whether it was one or two days I would still ride. But, in my opinion, the riders from mainland Europe, as well as our southern friends, contribute dramatically to the fantastic atmosphere. My concern would be whether they would continue to support a one day event. If you are looking for a new challenge, how about organising a 2 day twin shock trial. Ross

Hi metisse, are you anywhere near Toulouse ? Thanks Ross
  12. Take an experienced friend with you. Be aware that a "cheap" bike that needs new mudguard, bearings, tyres, piston etc - is not a cheap bike. Chain and sprockets. Brake pads. Levers

  16. I think 50:1 as you say is a reasonable figure, using good quality 2 stroke. The SSDT bikes can have real overheating problems due to the radiators getting blocked with mud etc. Riders are advised to put a mud flap on the front mudguard, and constantly check and clean the radiator shroude. Specific SSDT preparation can be read here. hhttp://www.trialscentral.com/news-archive/scottish-six-days-trial/13143-ssdt-the-beta-survival-guide
  17. What do you do the night before ? Does have an effect.
  18. copemecs got it covered !
  19. In the past they only had 2 stroke petrol in one ratio, but when the copemecs of this world demanded a certain ratio they just agreed with whatever they said.
  20. Nice bike, check float level. If it's original carb it will be worn, which won't help running. A heat shield is a easy addition to make, and would help eliminate fuel boiling. I would also change to a slow action Domino anyway.
  21. 1 use a standard 428 chain 2 use the snail cams to compensate 3 go to a "sympathetic" MOT station 4 for chain to tyre clearance, dish the wheel 5 ride and enjoy
