  1. Perhaps compare the swing arm with a known good one? Do you have a friendly Gas Gas dealer near you? Perhaps you could also check the horizontal alignment of the rear wheel spindle, with the bike as near vertical (upright) ? although this could be difficult to do as the wheel is clearly skewed. If the tilt 'improves' by turning the spindle, could the spindle also be bent? Good luck.
  2. And I am chuffed for all of you. Good luck!!! Thanks for sharing. Peter
  3. Same with Monthly Magazines. August's Mini Magazine has been out for ages... September's will be in the shops soon...
  4. I'd like to see the science behind that approach...
  5. This happened to my 320 Majesty back in the day, and no, it wasn't fun... I can still remember the feeling today - about 40 years later...

    2010 radiator

Can it not be repaired by a specialist radiator firm...? If they can make them, surely someone can fix them...? May save a few bob ?
  8. it might be rare [and it might not], but its damned expensive... and tatty. "better than an ISA..." so is poking yourself in the eye with a dirty stick... I AM getting grumpy in my old age
  9. Are they all the same or are some better than others...?

    Beta Drowned?

...and, more importantly, return that hair dryer or you will be in BIG TROUBLE...
  11. Interesting questions and first rate answer. Just a point if I may. I thought copper needed to cool naturally to anneal it? I may be wrong, its a long time since I annealed anything. Just found this link... Annealing washers...? Regards Peter
  12. Not sure it is overpriced really. If it goes as well as it looks it may be worth something like that. Looks as though a fair bit of work has gone into it? What do others think...?
  13. What a brilliant community forum this is. Someone asks a question and loads of people jump in and help out. This also means the rest of us learn from each other. Never seen any nastiness either. That's what you'd expect from the trials fraternity so perhaps I shouldn't be surprised. It was like this 40 years ago (before internet...) when I was falling off my OSSA MAR and my 320 MAJESTY. I am well impressed.
  14. Good Job Well done Peter
  15. I used to use an old metal fire 'poker' to align the holes on my OSSA. The proper thing to do is as the others say, try to get the shape back as it was, otherwise there is too much stress on the bolts. Also, if the plate has 'flattened' it may soon impinge on the crank case or gear box or whatever it is supposed to be protecting, and transfer the forces through and damage the casings...?
  16. Might be Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, and if it is it can be fixed... Click here (slowly, with the other wrist...)
  17. I like the entry gates to the section behind the top picture... Have you cleaned it yet...?
  18. I'm no expert, but my understanding is that a vehicle must have a current MOT certificate (be recorded as such on the database) if it is to be used on the road. If you are stopped and the bike isn't MOTd, I think its a fixed penalty notice and
  19. Help Tried to look at the links but got this message Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information. Not wanting to sound too obvious, but get rid of the old fuel and start with a fresh mixture. and Happy New Year
  21. Can't add to the thread, sorry, but I seem to read a lot about possible sheared keys on this forum... is this a common theme on modern trials bikes? I thought once fitted properly, with the nut fully tightened, it would be very difficult to shear a woodruff key? Am I right or wrong here? Just wondered. Thanks Peter
  22. Works for me in Firefox - but I did have to rub my eyes - in disbelief. Nifty...
  23. Air compressors are a bit of a black art. Shot blasting eats CFMs, and the manufacturers claim delivery in CFMs - say 14, but what they should be quoting - so I understand - is FAD (Free Air Delivery) which is about 2/3s of the quoted CFM. If this doesn't make any sense - it didn't to me when I first came across the ideas, then have a gander at the link below if you haven't seen it and thank the Lord for the wwwinternet... This has forum and tutorial sections on Air Compressors, Welding (MIG) and Painting. All three are a bit like riding a trials bike - they look easy until you try... Hope helpful Peter
