The sherco 05 and gas gas 06 are NOT compatible, might be possible to machine it to fit but in standard form not the same.

You missed a few threads where the FIM decreed that there is no rule bending ever as far as minimum age is concerned so Patrick will not ride till he is 16 in the WTC. I am Alexz Wiggs' biggest fan (he only lives 12 mins from me and is in our club) but lets not build him up before he has even ridden one Youth WTC round, nothing (I understand) is finalised yet and he needs to get enough funds together to have a proper go at the championship. Next year will be his GCSE examination year which may affect how many rounds are even possible for him to ride in. Don't forget that Gubian Danby Gratterola and others have already ridden in quite a few rounds this year and he is a year or more younger than these riders. Be in no doubt that if he competes I'm sure he will give it his all, but experience counts alot as most will agree.

Spotlessly clean laco flux is good and the best bit of advivice I had reinforcing Al's post is to make the joint mechanical aswell, ie a wedge by spaying the cable before soldering.

Looks alot of work for no real gain, even looks like swinging arm and pivot are original, can't be much thinner if the airbox is standard? Would be worried about silencer to wheel clearence as well.

Don't see how you could move the steering head back without modifying the down tubr as both connect in normal useage?

The spacers changed either 03 or 04 from being different to the same, 03 i think. Wheel was the same though, but that's the sherco. So gassers are different then.

Sherco has always been a bit of a 290 softer than 250 thing, I feel the gassers are the other way but havn't had much time on the GG.

Some of the late ones had the ally steady not all though. Both swinging arms are non standard and as per the comerfords bikes longer and closer to engine.

There was a bad batch of kickstarts on the 04's. Since 01 I have had 6 shercos, had one ignition pack up (within 1 hour of starting it) one thermostat fail (bad batch 02 i think) and only consumables apart from that. Always used IRIS trialpro chains and chain lube get through 2 chains a year when riding locally, one if not.

Yes, might have to double check it doesn't fit a gasser, just a thought.
