  1. http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/58109-what-country-are-you-in/
  2. I knew that but pretty sure the majority dont and it just reinforces the other thread about where you come from.
  3. im self employed and can work for little or no profit some days even make a loss. Not sure of the relevance to Honda uk in either model? A specialsist independent will give you the years of knowledge of dealing with montesas since sandiford days and for some people the hundreds of miles to the 3 uk dealers is a chore, and whilst they may have been mx dealers does that mean we have to pay over the odds when the rest of europe is cheaper AND the exchange rate is in Honda uk's favour. I know of someone who is getting a RR from a dealer in Yorkshire who probably wouldnt have bought had the dealer not sourced a bike, supported the sport for years and get up to work when he makes no money some days. As far as im concerned you pays your money and takes your choice, but one things for sure Honda are probably selling only 50 % of the 4rt's being ridden, and theres good reasons for that.
  4. or buy from an independent and not support the Honda uk model AND get an even better deal from a specialist......
  5. Testing is GOOD! be aware that if the controls are in an uncomfortable position it may put you off a bike, try to see past this.
  6. Well scott i had one of the 199's new and back then we did cut the loop off, as much as anything because the comerford boys did first and we copied as far as i remember. So nothing radical in yoiur suggestion, and if your going to ride and use it why not!
  7. think its answered above. But anecdotally i was convinced i needed a 300 as its what i d had before but ended up spending hours softening it then went out and bought a 250, spot on without touching it.
  8. I am certainly not promoting a 4rt, just that whoever buys this bike at 7500 could lose a lot of money. It would be easier to sell on a rr, thats all, especially if you dont like it. A 300 is a mistake for a novice whatever the bike.
  9. A 2007 works bike is no where near what Toni rides to day. If you exclude the crankcase work to make it a 300cc on the spec sheet then the remaining stuff is 90% bling. Having seen a trw bike in bits less than 10 miles from my home in 2008 I would suggest unless its your bike or your mates then the blatant promotion of this bike should be taken with a large pinch of salt. If i had £7500 to spend on a bike it would never be this one, and certainly its never going to get anyone better results than a brand new 300rr.
  10. If you have been riding for many years then maybe . If you havnt then maybe. It depends more on you as much as the bike. Go to a mont dealer and find out how to get a test ride. Mont vs sherco is going to be the same as mont vs 2 stroke in most cases. WHERE IN THE UK ARE YOU????
  11. its not like bous bike at all, looks special but is far from it, and never worth 7500 you would be much better off with a new rr.
  12. did the beta have a flywheel weight on?
  13. All very well but if you dont use a cable oiler with pj1 cable oil youre probably wasting your time.
  14. Did they sort production difficulties with sizing?
  15. What was better on the scorpa compared to the sherco? Why was the scorpa better than the vertigo? Just really interested.....thanks. There is no better way than back to back testing.
  16. Chips easier than carbs? For the average joe, reallly?
  17. The 50 we had was manual with gears, so a weight was a great help for beginners. Just trying to help here. It was a custom weight made and fitted by Julian Wigg.
  18. Warning. A 4rt doesnot suit everyone and even after 6 months i couldnt get on with it. It is a marmite bike.
  19. cant see why youre missing the point every time. Its not trying to steamroller anyone, its a balanced argument to which youve never offered a decent opposing view except "its my opinion". GG pro were not briliant when they came out agreed but that was ten years ago whats that got to do with Ossa? Ive even said what bike you have is your choice and thats what trials is about. Stuck the boot in how?
  20. I didnt like the low first gear, are current bikes the same?
