  2. Pretty sure youll have to pay vat at least on them, as stated above forget it get em sold.
  3. Agreed ive had a few 315's recently and they are very very good as a starter bike. Pretty much all spares available too, reliable and well made.
  4. Dadily do thesame exercise for football please? TRIALS IS CHEAP IN COMPARISON YOUVE DONE THIS THREAD BEFORE IF YOU CANT ACCEPT THE MAJORITY OPINION START YOUR OWN ORGANISATION. BARGAIN
  5. Considered by many, not a majority, not by everyone, not by partisan supporters of other makes or even raving lunatics with axes to grind.
  6. You missed off the bit "dabster is right".....tut tut borus
  7. Why? Where are you in the world btw?
  8. "MADE" or put together? Are Shercos not put together in caldes anymore?
  9. You know the troubles they had at first with fuel etc so yes people were initially put off.But having refined it it was fine when they changed back.
  10. 80 a day is impossible, from many angles, clearly not true.
  11. Sherco always build 50 at a time ( at least that was what we were told and saw when we visited caldes de montbui), but i doubt gg will build 80 a day every day. Well not for too long.....
  12. the montesa is very very stable.
  13. Im sure with the demise of Gas Gas the idea was to get some of those customers with a more convential layout?
  14. Averyon was a waste of time when i did it, ardeche is like sardent used to be.
  15. Are you saying the ACU is not democratic?
  16. Back in the day the miller frames were never that popular, and no one ive ever spoken to rated them. Crtainly by 198 and 340 times no one considered them viable. Aything with a sidecar and 2 men in/on it would be under great strain?
  17. This is absolutely not true. One rider i know went to a meeting a couple of years ago and suggested something and it was implemented. ACU IS a democracy dont read more into this than there is......
  18. John is correct as the alloy head steady was a good improvement for 2 reasons, it provided a triangulation to give more strength and avoided the weakness of the press steel steady that inevitable failed. My guess is that the strengthening was down to top tube bending, which was not uncommon as sections and jumping off stuff became more common in the late 70's early 80's. I remeber my 198 bending after doing the Tadley traders trial i think it was......
  19. The only model that does it for me is the 340. Its heritage from previous models is absolutely clear to see, it was an improvement and step forward as well. We all love bultaco, just in different ways......
  20. ill post some pics later if i get a chance.
  21. I had one done by reg at the time for the basic swinging arm and othermods and as stated above it wasnt drastically different in either handling or otherwise. The bike Woody refers to the ugly one is probably the 3rd 0r 4th generation of moving positions. The rear ward setting of footrests on the 198 probably has more effect on average rider. However as with all these things there is a trade off. My 340 has more movement at the back wheel which allows for a better suspension set up this also causes a slightly steeper angle at the front and the chain run is much better as pivot is closer the gearbox sprocket. Yes i think it grips better too. Is it worth it? I think it depends on what you want from a bike tbh. I rode vestys bike in a Falcon series in wales and i did think it good although at that stage poorly set up and maintained it was definately the best Bulto id ridden. Whether the more recent pumas are any good i dont know, vazquez i rode wasnt great tbh.
  22. People said the same about suspension when they were all riding rigids. It must make a difference as it wouldnt be adjustable. We are not all the same size or weight. Are you saying you dont adjust the position of your bars levers or carburettor either??
  23. Dont agree. The last one is the last one whoever made it, thought of concept, put it together or bought it. If Paco lost control in 79 then are you saying none of the bultaco 340's were "genuine"?
