Why would a manufacturer make a trials bike if the sales do not justify it?
How could you possibly change the regulations to allow a multi discipline motor?
If and such a big IF we could get regs to allow your crack pot idea how would you accomodate the "new regulation" bike into competitition at world international country and club level?
For once Dad off answer the questions?
-
What king of guitar is that?
Nice idea.
As an aside the dimensions of the front wheel bearings are such that they wear out quickly, and if youve given the spindle a few taps/it was rusty im guessing a new pair are required.

anglia vinyl art can replicate stuff

The simple facts are because there are insufficient regulations to constrain the development of lightweight very narrowly focussed bikes the sport is going down what is very likely a dead end road.GasGas with its lightweight engine is pretty well up the creek
Ossa perhaps the most technically advanced bike with its EFI etc is far from a sales success
Jotagas another avant garde type design only sells in small numbers.
Trials bike sales as a whole are pretty well down - certainly not an unqualified success.
The reasonably successful manufacturers Mont, Sherco and Beta are selling relatively traditional bikes.
I wish DL and his backers every success but when the Vertigo was first announced it was clearly stated the aim was to win at the highest level, ie SSDT and WTC. A refined thoroughbred may be the best way to achieve this but that does not mean it will have the characteristics that make a good bike for lesser riders on a budget.
The monoshock TY250 was perhaps they best ever club level bike but it won very little apart from the Scott at a higher level.
Hold on there you go again making one and one equal 3.
You arent really suggesting that gas gas's financial problems are down to a light bike are you?
Sales are down as much as anything because the sport is reducing in size/popularity not because of any rules you may or may not agree with.
Ossa has never been a success and that is because of various issues, ditto jtg but this is simply down to them not getting it right and proving the bike as Vertigo have done in the SSDT.
Mont do not sell that many bikes so how are you measuring there success?
Sherco and beta are really not that different to GG, and the most traditional of all which you seem to have deliberately omitted the ty engined scorpa was never a sales success at all.
You are out of tune with the majority and its you who shouldnt pollute this and other threads with a diatribe of half truths and jumped to conclusions.

You still dont get it do you? No one is "having a laugh" they are deadly serious.
Do you think ford or merc or vw worry about 4 year old cars too much, cost of spares etc, I doubt it. So why you think a specialist manufacturer in a minority sport should when each year a new improved lighter version is available defeats me.
BTW have you ever ridden a fixed gear push bike down a hill?
-
set the clutch sort water pump check fans fine and im sure she'll be good to go.
-
Hats off to them a prototype/pre production bike proved in Scotland.
How light?
-
-
Pigeon on its way from dad of 2.
Well done Doug AND the light bike.
-
Possibly someone is paying for Raga AND team to be in japan a week, and truck in Scotland
-
-
Back up team who has that in japan apart from top 4?
If Jack is jtg Factory no 1 he should be there, surely, even if its a bike and a minder.
A small factory needs to grow bu getting the bike out there, at every round.
If JTG are serious about continuing they need to sell bikes. Other JTG riders were there in Japan.
-
-
If he has factory support he should be at every round.

The forest trophy would be maybe a tenth of a day in scotland?
-
Mud around the south/east can be a complete B at times but as the better and drier weather comes it'll be much better for you im sure. Get down to m buzzard and see how you get on, if its close enough join up and you can practice every day pretty much.
Ditto earl shilton.
-
It is, dibs looks right out of contention and of the top 20 only 3 previous winners in 7th and 12thand 20th. Long way to go.........
-
If thats the case why did he not go to japan?
-
Sales with no importer and no bikes for sale? Fair play to Jack Ross and Becky for sticking with them
-
air leak = stalling?
So in neutral you lift the back wheel up and it stops? Immediately?
-
Preston from cambridge when hes saying mk is just ok?
Please go to milton buzzard Ourian next time they have an event and enter the easiest BLUE route. They are a great bunch of guys and im surethey will help. Ditto earl shilton. Big advantage of these two clubs is they have their own practice areas.

Glenn
How much do you ride out of the SM centre? Unless you are riding 2 or 3 times a month in Yorkshire etc itll be beyond you.
moors on a trialsbike is quite a bit harder than enduro riding
-
you have two pinch bolts so tighten the front one exposed to mud etc first. Theres lots of little things you can do which really dont make much difference but together can help the overall performance of the bike.
This is not meant in anyway except helpful but what would be good for you would be to get someone who knows to show you how to fettle a bike?
You can start with controls how to take a throttle apart lube and re-instate perfect position and lube cable and adjust (and check) free play. Adjust tickover and re-check, lock to lock.
Once done it probably wont need much looking after at all. Controls are probably the most important thing to get 100% on a bike.
What bike do you have?
