  1. and so they should, be interesting to see what bike he rides, that will maybe show how serious they takehim/whether fujis finished?
  2. Torx screws now? Just mention it cos a few are hard to get at?
  3. By sealing I mean take apart and silicone?
  4. My suggestion is you go and try another discipline then come back and sing the praises of how cheap it is compared to.......anything? Is there another pastime apart from say yoga or swimming which is cheaper? Peeps buy a 6k bike but worry about entry fees? You have several bikes gas gas among them? Sell the ***** bike and use that for entries and stop whinging? Sadly you have mixed the comment in with other stuff and this is the £millions of our money just sitting around doing nothing.
  5. Im guessing he rode alot more than 200 hours. And revved it to the limit frequently. How many filters have you changed in that 200 hours? i mean bought new? Have you checked the sealing of the airbox?
  6. ALexz Wigg won the 2006 wtc, european junior, and did BTC's all on the same piston and rings on a 125cc gasser that year so id be surprised if there isnt another reason why the bike has developed a noise. Certainly Pistons should last longer than a few months with proper lubrication and sympathetic riding? As above s3 make the standard stuff for GG .
  7. a pal had a 175cc frame, surprising how much smaller and lighter it was, might handle different too?
  8. What dadoff getting something wrong????????????????? Surely not, at least surely he wont admit a mistake.................
  9. Not with a mont they used to jump out, and with rathmells bike having the gearchange on the other side didnt help im sure.
  10. Never forget him in a trial in Devon on a 349 i'm sure, waiting to go into the section, into first into second into first then nuetral then second, letting the clutch in and out whilst doing it, gear change on the "wrong side of course, and repeating the process, I assume to make sure the mont didnt jump out of gear?.
  11. If manufacturers that sell less bikes than gg can survive why do they have to sell more?
  12. didnt he do the same to move to suzuki?
  13. So most of us don't think Casales is better?
  14. new Dunlop on the way, isn't there a thread somewhere on the new for 2015?
  15. you can ride in the open class withy 38mm forks?
  16. Look herehttps://www.facebook.com/groups/227745477288711/859642000765719/?notif_t=group_activitythink your view of gassers isnt shared by riders in over 40 50 and 60 championships
  17. It is NOT necessary to budget for gearbox rebuilds, the current machine has a gearbox which is very very good and an improvement on earlier models. Having never had a gearbox re build and able to cite many examples of reliability scott scotland etc Dad offs view is not typical or current.
  18. Fascinating. Err hmm. But really irrelevent to trials
  19. reckon thats just to give more rear wheel movement, but probably steepens head angle too?
  20. This is what makes trials bike buying so great, you have a choice. I spoke with an over 60's rider who was a works rider for Greeves with bill Wilko etc and he's just bought a 4rt, cos he fancied one, but even he said he found finding grip an art form in the muddy eastern centre. So you can get reliability and robustness exrta weight etc but you have a choice. One marque is different to another not better or worse necessarily, and the fact one person has a good or bad experience prooves very little. Conversly to guys i went 4rt to 2 strokes and im much happier, and in the majority.
  21. Dad off i am quite surprised you even have an interest in what I ride. Its a shame you werent at the Normandale National yesterday and saw the vast numbers of what was probably the most popular choice of bike in the most popular over 50 class. All these riders with reliable bikes that got them to the end of the trial and at their age I suppose they should know better? Well if vast experience and Knowledge is anything to go by these older riders in a reliability National clearly disagree with your over used and skewed view of the Gas Gas marque. And not only GG but betas and shercos even fantics all without see through tanks on a two lapper road trial managed to get to the end without running out of fuel........... Strangely not one gearbox cranckcase kick start or lower frame was broken. Vertigo breaking bolts in an indoor cos the bikes too light? Thats a big leap to take and making you look sillier than we thought. Ossa dog bone trouble? Thats hardly a worry is it and how is that related to lightness?
  22. I bought a new 250 from Windsor comp shop in 79, then had a 325 81/82 then a 340, then had that modified by Reg May at comerfords with the pivot points etc moved. each consequent model was better, and im confident the Comerfords bike handles better than my Italjet which is 84 I think.
