    '04 Sherco 290

The only thing i can say is i've owned an 04 Sherco. the power was good but the stator plate went. Nice handling bike like the Gas Gas but not as much power as a 300cc Gas Gas. Gas Gas i found was better in the mud whereas the sherco was a more stable machine. Gas Gas was is better for hopping and is a touch lighter and i've had no problems with my Gas Gas.
  2. I misread the words "big fat sponsorship" and thought you said Big Fat Controller (tomas the tank engine i think) is it the same thing?
  3. I have a 750cc Kawasaki but have never ridden in a trial and the cam chain is okay. Is this your bike: 99 Ninja 250

    Beta 4-stroke

I've just put a dipper down on a new Beta too... Number 1 in the queue so a big hairy a***d at all the indecisive buggers Not indecisive skint is more like it.... and for being so rich a full test ride review before the TMX, shouldn't be too much of problem for a man of your talents just don't make is pornographic
  6. Advertising makes no difference. Caroline posts here regularly and you don't see her trying to sell. John Hulme post here regularly and you don't see him trying to sell. The forum rules are the forum rules and they apply to all. They're not in place on a whim. If they didn't exist we'd have all sorts trying to sell anything and everything. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. I was pushed just a bit too far this time and voiced mine. Hopefully it will act as a deterrent to anybody else who reckons they can get away with it. They WILL get found out sooner or later. You shop and we'll drop-em. Or think of it as we are all on a safari hunt - your the spotter and TC members do the killing ....who's next?
  7. He might do a lot for a lot of people but he doesn't think about his actions on this website, nor the consquenses!!!
  8. all this talk about montesa is making feel i need to rush out and buy one never spoken to wayne in person (seen him ride thou) and if that is anything to go by wayne on gasser will mean only one thing, british champ 2007!!!..... he could have do it on the mont aswell
  9. I reckon your right. They sell other two wheeled forms of transport and if bike sales are anything like car sales in this country (very slow) then the dealer is in the s**t. It takes a brave man to put his foot down and say NO - totally agree with you Andy. AtomAnt, you'll know best about what Andy's been doing to control this stupid dealer, so say to him keep up the good work for me. Andy does a great job for the Trials community (world wide) and I for one say "try and keep focused on what you do best and don't waist your time with time wasters idiots like this". Now for the Dealer - you stupid prat!!!!

    Beta 4-stroke

Thats a shame about the Sherco i've hardly any mechanical experience and can just about do the basics for my Gas Gas 2t. The Sherco has what i would say is the best sized engine and there are no reports of it being loud - what a shame it looks such a nice bike. I have owned the Mont but have given reasons for why i sold it. O well its time to wait and see what the Scorpa and Beta are like

    Beta 4-stroke

I rode the 2005 models of both on the same day. The review was published Dirt Bike magazine in America. What exactly do you want to know? I seemed to have missed your review I think this might because i live in England and don't subcribe to Dirt Bike Mag. I'd be interested in summary of your results and highlighting the main differences between the bikes. If you have an opponion on which bike is best could you explain in detail why? The reason why i'm asking is because there are no Sherco 320's where i ride and i'm wondering if this is because the bike is not as good as the 4rt, or some other reason? Thanks,

    Beta 4-stroke

I don't know of any other bike with this separate eng/gearbox oils. A sale point for Beta the has been its weight. Sherco rattled on about weight and so did Montesa and Scorpa, so when will someone annouce there bike is sub 70kg!!! ...Gas Gas maybe? What's really interesting about the Beta is the various engine capacities available. This may be to soon to ask, but are Beta selling the bike as a 250cc with a 400cc conversion kit?...anyone know the answer

    06 Or 07

Had a ride on the 07 290 on Sunday, the bikes very first outing. Suspension was better than my Gas Gas but a little tight as the bike had only been run for 15minutes. Very smooth power, nice fat bars and this is going to surprise you, it felt thinner than my gas gas. i know it shouldn't have but it did, very weird A very good looking bike i was impressed

    Beta 4-stroke

That is rubbish you don't need to have a big cc bike at all down south. If you know how to ride and use the bike to it's advantages you will do most things on a bike under 250cc just look at Alexz Wigg and what he has acheived on a 125cc. We all have our own riding styles even at wtc standard (inc alexz). You are most probably right we (down south) don't need big capacity bikes but what do you say when there are a lot of these machines around? As i mentioned i like to ride using my bikes torque, this is my style of riding and perhaps others like me do the same. Its not only down south big cc bikes are sold remember! They are sold world wide and if there were no demand then they would not be made. Perhaps a good example of (why do you need the power) is why would anyone buy a Subaru Impreza when a Toyata Yaris will do the job. Not everyone wants to ride a 125cc and if the big cc machines were to much of a handful know one would by them. Changing the subject: Just been thinking about all this excellent coverage of the Beta 4t on TC, and not reading anything in the TMX - anyone? Technical Information: Like the paragraph about the engine and it not being MX derived I still can't see how they can make such a good looking machine. Also really like to read the engine can go up to a 400cc with 6 gears
  23. If you ride good luck this is an awesome event. I am considering the clubman expert route might be for me, but i've only been riding 5 years and have just started to learn all the hopping and jumping stuff, so it may be out of my league. If you find out what level the clubman expert route could you drop a line on this forum - cheers
