    DP, leggins is a bit brave; imagine what would happen if an 07 250 Beta fly's accidently straight towards him out of control , what could you say for such a terrible act? "sorry leggins the throttle got stuck wide open, but soapy water will remove that tyre mark from you forehead mate"... terrible thing that and such a terrible thought

    Changed the oil over the weekend its first change and the old stuff (yuk) looked like and smelt like milk gone off. i decided to run the bike on PJ1 oil its like p***, or a better discription might be olive oil; surprising what an oil change can do to a new bike gear changes are a lot easier. I have had my first big off, lost control on slop and baled out going down hill, the bike hit a tree with a bit force, but unfortunately (if you want to see the damage) there wasn't any!!! The grip, nows theres a topic of interest, finding it is a little weird in some sections i have loads and in others i have none, cambers i'm talking of, is there a prefered body posture? perhaps you TC members might be Beta advise the Beta way, should i lean far back like on a 4rt or more into the bike, i haven't worked this out, blimming annoying its costing me loads of marks. DP i fitted the 250cc sticker onto the exhaust muffler it does look smart - top idea from you.

    Come on then, let's have the crash piccy's Would love to but he's away and it was on the most daft end of day no camera type play area ( the near demolition of the front wheel is a total differnt story ) I'm shocked your 07 250 Beta damaged!!! Pics of damage please barry, this the second request PS: did you check nothings missing 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9.....wheres 10???....prices on parts broken i'm dreading to find out when mine gets damaged

From my understanding the marking system goes: 3 routes in the trial (3 coloured cards/flags mark each route) Green cards are worth 2 marks; Blue cards are worth 5 marks; Red cards are worth 10 marks. If you clean the section (no footing) add 15marks. If you dab once add 7 marks, If you dab twice 4 marks added, three dabs 0 marks added. All three (Red, Blue, Green) would be numbered so you can't ride through a gate twice. Dislodged a mark and its 5 marks off, stall the bike 5 marks off etc... Example: A Rider passes through three green cards (gates) and two Blue cards (gates) and goes clean (no footing) score= 31 What this gives you is no complaints about how hard a section is because if a rider does not want to ride a Blue or Red cards (gate) he/she can ride through the easily Green or Blue card (gate), but then they would earn less marks. The clever bit is if your looking to earn marks on clean rides missing out gates in the sections.... ...this is brilliant way of marking because when i ride sometimes i find if an obstacle or climb is too big i five the section, but if this marking system was used then i could ride some of the harder parts of a section and at the really hard stuff (beyond my abilities) i could ride through an easier route to miss the bit i can't ride and thereby not fail the section.

    Hello DP, very tasty looking bike if you don't mind me saying, how about getting the wheels done (not just saying cos i got mine done) ? Picture 1842: on the exhaust muffler you have a 250 sticker, was this the sticker meant for the swing arm? I'm thinking about a set of footpegs when the funds allow and was considering TrialCast pegs because they are cheaper than the raptors. The first wash of my bike i left it over night in the garage with a little water on the standard steel pegs the next day they had rust on them.
  6. Double 5 Kent & North Kent Trials Combine Good article. It appears that the small dimensions of the engine allow it to be installed in the stock pro frame. It claims that the weight will be only slightly more than the 2T. Extensive testing is ongoing. Will be interesting to see it. Have you a photo of the engine in the frame/chassis

    Barry, hows your bikes suspension set up? Could you (when you have a moment) have a look at the settings and report back. Has your bike still got the fast action throttle and do you think its worth changing the footpegs? I've been looking at the pegs on the Gas Gas and they look like they would fit and i suspect they would be a lot cheaper than a set of raptors.

  11. My point was, what is the 'point' of asking why this land is no longer going to be used for practicing unless you have some kind of motive or yob action plan? The orginal most saying the Farmer has been summonsed to court and is not willing to talk about it, SO WHY ARE WE ASKING QUESTIONS? Could it be that in the area of addingham there are riders avaiable to stand guard over this land and say to any potential rider looking to practise "sorry mate you can't ride here anymore" and the person being told asks "why" and the answer is "because the farmer said no practising". It doesn't matter why you can't practise be it DEFRA, local council, public complaints the fact is you can't and this is what the farmer has told you. So... moving on, if the farmer says NO then why seek further information unless you have a motive? If the farmer wants to put up and sign saying No Practising perhaps we should debate the sign? On my car radio a DJ says the 9:15 from Orpington station to London Charing Cross is cancelled i'm aware of this fact even though i don't use public transport, so you'd be suprised to know i won't be looking for further inforamtion about this train cancellation. If the Farmer has said no practising i won't be calling him to find out why. can i go now

  13. why are you asking who is making the complaints, are you intending to pay them an unsocial visit? the farmer sounds very pro biker he will let you know what he wants to happen, its not a witch hunt for the complainee, and i suspect the last thing the farmer needs is a couple yobs threatening the person/s who have complained - no offence. all you can do is wait for the farmer to give you some direction as to what is happening. in the mean time there is nothing you can do but pass the word to others who use the land for practising.

    Never owned a Beta until now, done a few changes like the wheels and a sticker kit may look to do a bit more soon. Compared to my Gas Gas the Beta is very stable, smooth and surprisinly easy to hop. The Gas Gas has the Beta in situations like deep mud, the Gas Gas will launch whereas the Beta will bog down - but its still early days.

    i can't help but wonder what this 07 spec machine will be like. i would have bought one but there was no news and i've just bought a 2t beta, the 4t was too expensive and not available. I remember sherco has used weight as a sale ploy for their 2t's, if they can do the same for the 4t and make the bike lightest of all the 4t's this may just create enough interest and some positive. i have owned the 4rt ,nice bike with a crap rider, i should have gone for the sherco at the time. ishy says the power throbs, i reckon i might just get myself one when the money's available. for sherco, please make sure the 07 machine is 100%, its got the looks, its got the right sized engine and if its reliable it will sell - well to me that is
  17. The title thread is misleading i expected to see some new DVD footage and not Steve Colley crashing in a motor show. Its not nice to see Steve crash and please next time could tell me if i'm about to see this type of thing as i rather not! - not impressed

    I'm going to get myself in dead water when i ask "do you think the 3.2 is the best looking 4t?" I do, i like the beta's looks a lot, not overally keen on the scorpa i see one in the flesh the other day and the mont is so common the name should change from 4rt for Ford Mondeo ...(seeing as its only me who is replying i don't think anyone will notice what i've just said)

  20. Congratulations to Bou....could he help Doug and Fuji to bigger and better things in the indoor championship? Some opionions on this thread leave me with a bitter taste. Why? Lampkin is an ambassodor as 99% of us will agree. However if you've a childs mentality who needs to grow up then you'd see this different.

  22. In a Mick Andrews video he made reference to a taller rider being slightly disadvantage with his height and he recommended higher bars. I'm not as tall as you but i raised my bars on my Gas Gas because i felt they were a little low - see picture below
  23. Experts, or Super Experts, Championship Class....i quite like Super Experts and thinking about it most two-wheeled sports which have the word 'Super' and well supported. IE: World 'Super' Bikes; British 'Super' Bikes, Super Sport Class.....i'm sure there's other. My first reaction to the title of the thread "Replying to Why Is It Called pro Class?" I thought it was a topic on the Gas Gas Pro bikes.
  24. What i'm thinking is football on TV and the big money involved with the tv rights. I can't think of any other reason why there demands (octagon's) are high financially. Don't get me wrong as i don't know the full picture but should octagon be trying to get the sport noticed on tv then my guess is they'll need a lot of money for Eurosport to sit up and pay attention....any takers with this idea?
