  1. The photo's of the Master Class look great and the sections are prity big those guys still know how to ride a bike. How old is Steve he must be nearly 50? The 08 Sherco is very tasty reminds me a little of my old 1997 315 Mont (white). So its the big day tomorrow, "Come On Doug, James, Michael, Alexz, Ross and all the British riders". Thought i'd say that as i've haven't said anything on here yet. Is the entainment for TC members going okay, not sure if anything is organised? I'm gutted i can't be there today or tomorrow especially when its Doug's final outing - well gutted. Keep us posted on all that happens and just the the hell of it I'm saying again "Come On Dougie!!!!"
  2. Thanks Andy A rider on the entry list he must be mad (aka The Crazy Frog) what is he doing, or even thinking, full house of marks for him. Good to see Jarvis riding thought he knocked WTC on the head last year.
  3. if i've missed it does anyone have the entry list of riders?
  4. Here's another picture of me the swamp/bog was about 50feet long and by the time i got to this section i was having such a bad day i really didn't care what i rode through so it was through the middle. Picture below is when i was about 5 feet in and this was the shallow end of the section.
  5. I went for the slow action throttle because of two reasons. 1) snatchy clutch (at the initial bite its handy to have a bit more throttle movement to prevent unwanted revs combined with the said snatch clutch) 2) riding with out using the clutch at close to idle speed i can open the throttle with out being caught by unwanted extra power. The picture below is of me, i also fitted a drain pipe to the bottom of the air box some events in my centre can be a little wet in places. I can't say if there was any water in the air box as the bike was dripping wet when i undid the cap but for me the drain pipe is a bit of piece of mind. cliff

    New Gasser For Me

At the moment none. But if and that is a big if, I am able to buy a new to me bike probably no more than $3000 U.S. (and that may be a stretch I will probably ride my 2000 sherco 2.9 until trials is run on hoverbikes) I guess I am not looking for "cheap" but the "best bang for the buck" and the bucks are lower than purchasing new. Sounds like an 04 onwards would be the best bet. Thanks gentlemen and if there is any more info on what to look for please post. Atomant, How hard does a person have to ride a bike in order to muck up the clutch cage on that new of a bike? What level did they ride at? I know of another 05 Raga that needed one changed as well. Both have been well ridden I would say. One level expert and I don't know what level you would put Spud at!! probably Beginner Funny that when i see the title of this thread on the front page of TC i knew Mr Ant would be giving me a mention. Not that he's not allowed to he does own my old Gas Gas. So, yes I am novice rider and don't mind being called a beginner or novice from anyone who is better than me and thats 99.9% of the trials community. The other 00.1% is where Mr Ant is placed due to his lacking ride at said event below. With this in mind this makes Mr Ant, An Over 40 Wobbler Who Lost The Bet. If/when i buy another Gas Gas and if its second hand I'd consider any bike which sounds 'good' and 'rides well'. The year of the bike would not be an issue for me but the 2001/2 bikes would have to be very good for me buy one of them.
  7. Thanks - might give that a go - where did you source reeds and jet? Ta Jim I bought them from motomerlin (boysens reeds). If my memory serves me right they cost me about
  8. Dreaming of the SSDT next year!.... No the main reason was when i had my Scorpa SY i managed to half fill the air box when I got a little off line in a stream (the water was up to the handlbars for a few sections). I couldn't continue because i had no way of draining it out. For this reason the drain pipe has been fitted to the Beta, and yes the Scorpa got one it was from a Gas Gas, the old style nipple teet. I think your a fair weather rider
  9. Hello Jim, The reeds have made a very noticable difference in that I don't have to rev the bike to clear the engine. The 27.5 jet means it will now ticks over, and the carb being drilled has stop the petrol leak. malcom simmons, of west kingsdown, sevenoaks 01474 855557
  10. Fitted the kit and i've gotta say its well worth the money. Other mods so far: Raptor Pegs Boysen Reeds Slow action throttle 27.5 pilot jet Powder coated wheels Air box drain pipe
  11. The adjustable ignition switch first appeared on the Raga the following year it was on the TXT. The large diameter forks were first fitted to the Raga and then to the TXT. The light weight of the Raga is matched 2 years after by TXT. The way i see this is look at last years Raga and you'll be getting some of the goodies on the TXT to following year .

    Stupid!

Had a Honda CG125 when 17. The base gasket started to leak so I order a new one from the local Honda dealer and was told it would take a week to arrive. I couldn't wait a week as I used the bike for work and that weekend as I flicked through the TV channels (there was only 4) wondering what I
  13. The big question is can he beat me on my old bike?
  14. Hello Betarever, and a big welcome to a fellow Beta rider. Could i be as bold as to ask why you bought the best brand of bike money will every buy? Could it be quality build, or its stunning looks, price or even excellent reputation? You'll find that everyone who is anyone will say what a great bike the Beta is and if they don't there jealous.
  15. younger than i thought i had you for mid 40's
  16. how about: hop, jump, backwards and set time to complete the section
  17. What a difference power is up by 10-15%. The overall performance increase is good - a bit of an eye opener on the first few sections I was caught of guard and paid the price. The jetting is standard as too is the needle height, all that's been done is the air screw has been turned out one whole turn as instructed. The carb has also been drilled to stop it leaking. I'm very please with the results and for
  18. I'd be up for the ride but i've a local club trial. Could someone/anyone report on how AtomAnt is riding the Gas Gas I need to ensure i'm a cut above him because i beat him at the Forest Trophy Trial and he's out for revenge.....thanks
  19. I'll be testing my Boyesen reeds for the first time tomorrow and any problems i'll let you know.
  20. I've a 2007 250 and fitted the boyesen reeds. I didn't loctite the screws as they fitted very tight to reed block casing. The reeds came with fitting instructions saying to turn the air screw 1/4 or 1/2 turn which i done. I kicked the bike over and had the throttle closed with no choke, it started first kick and ticked-over without any unwanted revving to keep the bike from stalling - something the bike would never do with the standard reeds. I ran the bike down an alley way and it revved great, clean pick up from the bottom end and revved a lot easier. I've not altered the jetting, and its got a flywheel weight with a slow action throttle. My intention was only to have the bike revving more freely at the bottom end and no power gains!!! Todate the boyesen reeds have done the job.
  21. Can't really add much more to the above apart from my own Well Done to organisers and a Special thanks to all the observers. I'd also like to thank the two ladies in the Burger Van for the life saving coffee and a friendly smile in the bitter conditions. Having ridden the fun trial on the Saturday and beating Ant and Stu i premept my disappointment in Stu beating me in the Forest Trial because i like Ant didn't walk the second sub and rightly so got a 5. The sections on Sunday where amazing, i loved it, and i'll be back next year. A small note on Ant loosing to me, i've never heard so many excusses for loosing, but when he was leading (technically) on one of the laps on the Saturday he became very excited. It was only on the bigger rocks sections he'd loose most his marks.....i've got your

    Too Hard?

Have you ever been to the Scottish? or a simpler question, have you ever attended planet earth? I do apologise for my ideal your obviously very offended and something i never meant to do. The answer to your first questions is Yes 2003.

    Too Hard?

I didn't ride and this i think makes me unbiased when i say. Ishy has made some very valid points and to over view (correct me if i'm wrong) the riders of this trial (the majority) are not teenages, nor are they top professionals. For me this is key for the CofC to note who the majority are and what they are capable of! Secondly, and this is equally important, the young and talented riders need to be tested to find the winner and the course should increase in difficulty year in year out. This a very difficult situation to solve and one perhaps the Openfree marking system (YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE p15, issue 2) maybe able to answer.
